Hub Spot has there sales system is rigged to deceive and take advantage of small companies. There predatory sales and contracting tactics are meant to purposely trap clients.
I was so impressed by the amount and quantity of information that Hubspot provides for free that I was excited to sign up. My rep was personable and helpful and then as soon as I handed over the contract he vaporized. I was never given access to the site. They claim to not have a record of my complaints. They do have a record that I've never accessed the site and they have never bothered to find out why. They just kept taking my money.
HS may be good for basic marketing, but it is a HORRIBLE sales tool--not user-friendly: not navigable, messy look and feel, the Outlook plugin slows down the MS application (had to uninstall), not intuitive... just a crappy tool. More for developers, but not for real users. I even had a hard time finding the support number. WTH?
I actually received a message that my account was up for renewal. I cancelled it. A month later I get a message saying that my payment was due and the card they tried to use declined the payment (it has expired). L When I explained that I had cancelled they said that I could cancel at the end of the contract term (another year). I have no intention of paying for something that I don't use or want. They need to put their customers first and not their desire to bill, if they want any success.
They give you a free account, but then lock your account and require that you "upgrade" to get any support whatsoever or to appeal the lock on your account. Look elsewhere.
DO NOT sign the contract unless you have read the fine print. I told them we were not going to renew about a month before our contract was up and that we were switching to Pardot. Turns out you have to let them know 45 - 90 days before the contract is set to renew. They were extremely rude and feisty about letting us out of the contract and in the end said they will take us to court.
They want to grab as much money from you before you realize... my advice is stay away!
Reading this post: https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/elements-of-modern-web-design-list, hubspot suggests adding "auto play" videos to your website. In addition to being rude and annoying, it's already been shown that it's just plain bad practice: http://www.punkchip.com/autoplay-is-bad-for-all-users/.
As someone pointed out, the example site that hubspot points to does not play sound while it autoplays. With or without sound, this is still an egregious practice as many folks are still on metered data plans (especially on mobile). Just don't do it.
Cost so much money, but its never enough.
We spent so much money on hubspot but the solution is never complete.
Always need more integrations and stuff
It looks like someone who has no experience in marketing and sales decided to create a marketing and sales platform.
It's complicated, very pricey, and they are always looking for ways to get more money out of you.
Even when you pay extra money for a 3rd party "expert", the solution is never complete.
In conclusion - do not use hubspot. You will pay a lot of money but will have nothing to show for it.
Only frustration with no results.
This is a real scam. They sold me a solution that was appealing to my business. Once I paid and signed, they totally stopped answering my messages, they never delivered what they promised and they never recognized their mistake. Their salespeople are probably trained to lie as this is what happened to me. They never reimbursed me and even when they said they'd cancel my subscription after 6 months, they didn't and they kept chargin my card. The are the most unprofessional and dangerous people as you are left on your own and you just don't get answers. My email box is full of out of office replies from them. All they ay when they reply to your 100h desperate email "I was on holiday". It seems it is all they do. And with your money. So I lost thousands an have nothing!
If you work in marketing and want to discover and excellent software for all you marketing, check out www.hubspot.com. Very cool software! Wish I had it when I was in the marketing game. Learned of it from David Meerman Scott's book on The New Rules of Marketing and PR. Excellent book also. The book and the site combine for a powerful force in marketing in today's world. Great stuff!
We purchased the ability to use an online Email Marketing Platform called Hubspot. After paying an initial invoice of $13,250 for the first 6 months of a 12 month plan, we were informed that there was a mistake in the billing and that another additional $7k was due. The decision was made not to continue with the service at this point, and a refund was requested. Our service was shut down, we were locked out of the account and then given a counter offer that Hubspot would like to keep the $13,250 if we agree to cancel the contract. Basically, Hubspot decided to generate an Invoice for an additional $7k after receiving payment for an Invoice of $13,250; and, when we asked them to be let out of the contract completely, they kept the entire amount. We are out $13k.
We have had a dreadful experience with hubspot. Due to covid our sales dropped considerably snd we tried to reduce our license but no help from this dreadful company. We had to provide 12 months notice to get out of our contract and forced to pay close to $50.000 and not use the software. We have moved to a much better company. Insightly and so happy with our experience. As we finalise the contract we have found that they are now blocking our website dns so we can't point it to our new crm. Corporate blackmail. Do you research and completely avoid this company.
I had an account with Hubspot. I spent literally months in lockdown updating it.
I automatically logged in through keychain with my old email address.
Out of nowhere, HubSpot wanted me to change my email by sending a recovery email to my old email address that I can no longer access.
Now I need to provide ridiculous evidence of my new email address. They want me to track the email header of some email that I know nothing about. My IT guy is stumped. It is utterly ridiculous! I don't have access to any of my contacts. Words can't describe how disappointed and frustrated I am. Pathetic.
Hubspot sends newsletters that teach you much about marketing and making your website better plus you can comment at the end of their articles with your URL hyperlinked within your first name, giving you exposure and more traffic.
There is No way to down grade or cancel a subscription on the site. They go out of their way to make it hard or impossible. Check before you buy anything from this company.
Don't move your site to HubSpot unless you are absolutely committed to staying with them FOREVER!... and absolutely don't move your site to HubSpot if you are not HTML or technically savvy 'cause you'll never get it back they way they claim. I was on HubSpot for 6 months with zero return. I canceled and used their recommended HTTrack to export my site. It is a mess now to work with - a lot of garbage HTML code. If they offer a way to export as well as they import then you would be good to go. Why don't they off an export - seems to be the right thing to do with all they up front hype they give it. Disgusted and disappointed and frustrated!
This is the worst selling experience that I ever had. Before and during the meeting, their sales manager kept asking me whether my management team would join this meeting. I already told that I am the one who will join the meeting as I did the sourcing before I propose it to my manager and my management team don't have lot of free time to keep joining this kind of demo meetings. Then their sale manager said "interesting" when he knows only me join this meeting. Seriously, this is pretty unprofessional and disrespectful to tell the clients like this.
Then during the meeting, the sales manager said if we cannot provide what is our marketing strategies to get a CRM tool on board (i. E. how much is the budget for buying a CRM tool), he cannot customize the solutions for us as it is waste of his time to keep showing different solutions to us and we turn it down at last. Lastly, he said he is really busy and have lot of meetings upcoming, so he will only send us the demo video link rather than doing a demo during the meeting.
Honestly, I was interesting to their CRM tools, after this meeting, I will not even think of purchasing their services at all. If the sales manager can treat the clients like this before we purchase, I am not sure how they will treat us after we purchase their tool.
I clicked on copy email to hubspot but instead it copied and deleted from outlook, thank god I am on exchange server and with the rules I can get the emails back, but this is not what CRM is supposed to do
Great great, i really love what they do, I can't live without this tool. It's very easy to use, but not really affordable. Oh well.
Answer: I would really like to hear from anyone who as anything positive or negative to say about Hubspot. They certainly promise the world, but do they deliver? Had a couple of bad experiences in the past being sucked in by hype and can't afford another!
Answer: Because they are only interested in scamming money. It is that simple. Your review is very generous.
Answer: Check this out: Dear James, I am sorry to hear that this has such an adverse impact on your employment contract and personal life. I will see what I can do to help you. While I am unable to cancel the subscription entirely, I will seek approval for an exceptional one-time downgrade on a goodwill basis on the next bill date 15 May 2022 instead of renewal date. The downgrade will be to remove the additional 5k marketing contacts (AUD150/month excl. GST), therefore bringing your monthly subscription fee down from AUD224.89/month excl. GST to just AUD75/month excl. GST However, I will need your help to reduce your marketing contacts to less than 1,000 first. Please follow these steps - Under Account & Billing > "Usage & Limits" > Manage Marketing Contacts. On the final page, please ensure to click on Update Contacts to ensure this is captured by our system. For a step-by-step guide, you can refer to this article on setting contacts as non-marketing Thank you.
