HubSpot's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from aggressive sales tactics and inadequate post-purchase support. Many users report feeling rushed into decisions without proper evaluation, leading to unmet expectations regarding the software's capabilities. Common concerns include hidden fees, inflexible contract terms, and poor customer service, characterized by unresponsive communication and lack of support. Conversely, some customers appreciate the platform's comprehensive tools for marketing and CRM, highlighting its potential for enhancing business processes. Overall, while the software offers valuable features, the customer experience frequently falls short, indicating a need for improvement in service delivery and transparency.

We had a ferocious salesman that disappeared immediately, a pricey $1200 warm up for one hour a week. You are NOT told you need to start from scratch and hire a full time admin. After 9 months paying almost 12,000 US we tried to reduce our plan because we were oversold and wanted to try it without all extra figures. We are trapped. We stopped using the platform and they do not care, we never received a simple mail asking about our difficulties. They do not care about the client. Try a friendly platform that privilege service.
JEF from hubspot wont allow me to open emails on my phone only my computer which isnt typical in fact this has never happened andnow feel I am being extorted. I will be updating these posts as I go but I cant afford a computer virus right now... nor can anyone.
I had to chase down their sales team to get a conversation as my contract was ending. By the time I spoke with someone, he never got back to me and my bill tripled in cost without them saying anything. Their billing practices do not empower startups and their sales team do not communicate when you're a customer. Beware!
Cost so much money, but its never enough.
We spent so much money on hubspot but the solution is never complete.
Always need more integrations and stuff
It looks like someone who has no experience in marketing and sales decided to create a marketing and sales platform.
It's complicated, very pricey, and they are always looking for ways to get more money out of you.
Even when you pay extra money for a 3rd party "expert", the solution is never complete.
In conclusion - do not use hubspot. You will pay a lot of money but will have nothing to show for it.
Only frustration with no results.
Sales team lies through three teeth about functionality to sell product. Turns out it does nothing they said it would do. Proceeded to lock me into $17,000 one year contract. These people are horrid. It's not even a good CRM, lacks many crucial features.
I had an account with Hubspot. I spent literally months in lockdown updating it.
I automatically logged in through keychain with my old email address.
Out of nowhere, HubSpot wanted me to change my email by sending a recovery email to my old email address that I can no longer access.
Now I need to provide ridiculous evidence of my new email address. They want me to track the email header of some email that I know nothing about. My IT guy is stumped. It is utterly ridiculous! I don't have access to any of my contacts. Words can't describe how disappointed and frustrated I am. Pathetic.
They used a phoney PayPal bill with a phoney customer service number. My husband called the bogus number. They told him he would have to pay 800.00 to them and dispute it later. They told him if he did not, it will be on our credit rating.
I created an account to target the marketing strategy for my business and Hubspot helps do that in a way that's easy for a beginner like me to understand.
I joined the hubspot partner programs years ago and have been waiting to get my commission from them since 2018. Today, after sending dozens of emails on the matter they approved our documents. FINALLY, we were going to get our commission. Then of course, we got contacted by their team lead letting me know that section4 of X document found on Y page states that we have six months to sort this through. AFTER FOUR YEARS of chasing them about the issue. SO much time left. I am shocked to be treated like this in the partner program.
We have had a dreadful experience with hubspot. Due to covid our sales dropped considerably snd we tried to reduce our license but no help from this dreadful company. We had to provide 12 months notice to get out of our contract and forced to pay close to $50.000 and not use the software. We have moved to a much better company. Insightly and so happy with our experience. As we finalise the contract we have found that they are now blocking our website dns so we can't point it to our new crm. Corporate blackmail. Do you research and completely avoid this company.
Well there goes 300 and a waste of tons of time. I don't know what business people who post positive Hubspot reviews are using this for. I'm really curious what tasks they find it useful for. This is the worst platform I've ever experienced for free much less paid.
I tried marketing and sales hub ($100 a month total for 2 users-other user never signed on) and all I needed was to send occasional bulk emails (3-5 at a time) to contacts including a few attachments and track opens. In three months - admitted, the effort was off and on - I still don't know how to do this fluidly. I may have managed it once.
The only thing this platform was interesting for was tracking email opens. Even then, I had to "add" hubspot every single time I sent an email. At $100 a month I don't care that much and even the tracking performance was spotty. Sometimes no "open" reported although I know emails were opened, but sometimes it showed an insane number of opens - past what could possibly be right.
What I did find during my (mostly fruitless) efforts to locate online help on the site were CONSTANT upsells. Tons of promising "features" that - oh sorry, you don't have that! - But here's a redirect to our sales team for information on this feature. So suck more time on this ad, but still never learn how to do the task you came hoping to learn. So frustrating.
Not intuitive, importing was painful, organizing fields was a nightmare, doesn't perform basic things I needed - and try getting some help! They're willing to email an article (gee thanks, I'm paying 100 a month for this?), which may or may not be on point. No follow up unless they see you looking at an upsell, then they might!
This platform suc*s. After several months, I cancelled what never was useful. Spare yourself the pain.
There is No way to down grade or cancel a subscription on the site. They go out of their way to make it hard or impossible. Check before you buy anything from this company.
We purchased the ability to use an online Email Marketing Platform called Hubspot. After paying an initial invoice of $13,250 for the first 6 months of a 12 month plan, we were informed that there was a mistake in the billing and that another additional $7k was due. The decision was made not to continue with the service at this point, and a refund was requested. Our service was shut down, we were locked out of the account and then given a counter offer that Hubspot would like to keep the $13,250 if we agree to cancel the contract. Basically, Hubspot decided to generate an Invoice for an additional $7k after receiving payment for an Invoice of $13,250; and, when we asked them to be let out of the contract completely, they kept the entire amount. We are out $13k.
My biggest mistakes in business is hubspot. They lock you in for a year for $850 a month, supposed be good for business but its all a sales scam thats not even the worst part, after we imported all of our cusoterms they send me an email saying my fee is going up to $1500 a month! For a CRM software, I never seen a company charges for the amount of contacts you have, I used sevral CRM platforms before, the $850 a month for 1000 contacts only! Wow, now I am stcuk with this reduliclce serivce that we are stopping to use in the next few weeks when we finish the setup for ZOHO that charges 240 a year.
I clicked on copy email to hubspot but instead it copied and deleted from outlook, thank god I am on exchange server and with the rules I can get the emails back, but this is not what CRM is supposed to do
If I could I would give HubSpot a negative 5 star! We unfortunately were suspended for a high hard bounce rate due to an unclean list. However, it has been 3 weeks now and HubSpot support is STILL making us jump through hoops! I have removed the bad contacts and uploaded a Opt-Out list and emailed tech support 3 times! This is insane. Their customer service SUCK! If you do happen to be allowed to speak to someone on the phone they literally can't answer vital questions. Do yourself a favor and DON'T use Hubspot! They are horrible!
This is the worst selling experience that I ever had. Before and during the meeting, their sales manager kept asking me whether my management team would join this meeting. I already told that I am the one who will join the meeting as I did the sourcing before I propose it to my manager and my management team don't have lot of free time to keep joining this kind of demo meetings. Then their sale manager said "interesting" when he knows only me join this meeting. Seriously, this is pretty unprofessional and disrespectful to tell the clients like this.
Then during the meeting, the sales manager said if we cannot provide what is our marketing strategies to get a CRM tool on board (i. E. how much is the budget for buying a CRM tool), he cannot customize the solutions for us as it is waste of his time to keep showing different solutions to us and we turn it down at last. Lastly, he said he is really busy and have lot of meetings upcoming, so he will only send us the demo video link rather than doing a demo during the meeting.
Honestly, I was interesting to their CRM tools, after this meeting, I will not even think of purchasing their services at all. If the sales manager can treat the clients like this before we purchase, I am not sure how they will treat us after we purchase their tool.
HubSpot is terrible for anyone that is looking to drive high-quality organic traffic from Google. HubSpot is only good for nurturing leads from low quality traffic sources, that cost more to acquire, compared to targeted organic traffic.
HubSpot forces the use of a sub-domain for a blog, which is a bad idea in nearly all cases.
IF YOU WANT TO PAY MORE AND GET LESS, THEN THE HubSpot WEBSITE PLATFORM WOULD DEFINITLY BE A GREAT FIT FOR YOU!
You have to be very careful with their packages. They change so often what you bought for one client a year ago may be totally different today. We recently got screwed by Hubspot where their Growth Package' doesn't include a basic auto response sequence. That simple function that any $10 email marketing tool has will cost you $800 per month at Hubspot. How we have it one account and not in another is still mind numbing. Their customer service could care less. Had to refund a customer out of our own pocket because of this. I left them a few years ago because of issues with their platform. Should have never came back. Ugh!
I actually received a message that my account was up for renewal. I cancelled it. A month later I get a message saying that my payment was due and the card they tried to use declined the payment (it has expired). L When I explained that I had cancelled they said that I could cancel at the end of the contract term (another year). I have no intention of paying for something that I don't use or want. They need to put their customers first and not their desire to bill, if they want any success.
Answer: I would really like to hear from anyone who as anything positive or negative to say about Hubspot. They certainly promise the world, but do they deliver? Had a couple of bad experiences in the past being sucked in by hype and can't afford another!
Answer: Because they are only interested in scamming money. It is that simple. Your review is very generous.
Answer: Check this out: Dear James, I am sorry to hear that this has such an adverse impact on your employment contract and personal life. I will see what I can do to help you. While I am unable to cancel the subscription entirely, I will seek approval for an exceptional one-time downgrade on a goodwill basis on the next bill date 15 May 2022 instead of renewal date. The downgrade will be to remove the additional 5k marketing contacts (AUD150/month excl. GST), therefore bringing your monthly subscription fee down from AUD224.89/month excl. GST to just AUD75/month excl. GST However, I will need your help to reduce your marketing contacts to less than 1,000 first. Please follow these steps - Under Account & Billing > "Usage & Limits" > Manage Marketing Contacts. On the final page, please ensure to click on Update Contacts to ensure this is captured by our system. For a step-by-step guide, you can refer to this article on setting contacts as non-marketing Thank you.
