I called hoveround when I had a flat on my wheelchair and was flat. I cannot use a push wheelchair as I don't have the hands or arms to push myself are not strong enough due to severe degeneration in both shoulders with no ligament in them due to bad arthritis and degeneration of the bones. I have Parkinson and can't even hold a glass but I can control an 3lecttric wheelchair. My burned hands only allows me to put so muand being 6'3' inch body at 257 lbs can use your emergency forum to to get my tires fixed so I can be mobi
So far I have no complaints about this company. From the time I spoke to the reception she took all my information and contact my primary doctor. Like a few days later I received a call from Hoveround they set up my appointment with my primary doctor and them.
June 2025 my hoveround chair stop working, i am completely dependent on my chair. I can only walk a few feet. It is now November and hoveround has done everything in their power to not fix this chair. They finally sent a battery and motor in August. After technician came and installed these items. The chair still did not work. The technician said the chair needs a joystick, I would like to remind everyone this chair is my legs. The insurance company approved the part and labor. My physician filled out all the appropriate paperwork. And still after 5 months I am still without a chair. I have been handicapped for 20+ years. I have had a hoveround for 20 of those years. The people at hoveround have shown no urgency or mercy for this situation. I have explained to them that without the chair I am homebound. I have multiple chronic conditions. And I suffer with depression d/t being confined to my very small apartment. The people at hoveround should be ashamed. They are supposed to be a service company. Yet, they have shown no regard for my situation. If there is anyone that can assist me in this matter, please contact me.

My chair was approved in a short time, but chair took 3 months to get. The delivery guy had a family emergency the day they were going to deliver, which I understand. But it took two more weeks to get chair. So finally the delivery comes.
Instead of using the concrete sidewalk and parking area in front of house, the guy uses the side driveway with mud because of the rain. So in comes my brand new chair covered in mud. I had to put something on floor to bring it in the house. After he explains everything, he tells me he doesn't have the oxygen Carrier that was prescribed with the chair. What kind of company operates like this? A piss poor one, that's who!
Still waiting for oxygen Carrier.
I would avoid this company.

1. Newly delivered unit tipped over on top of me. 2. Called service. Was told business card misprinted. Had reached accounting. Not service.
3. When finally got right no for service dept was informed 17 callers ahead of me. 58 minute wait. Are you kidding me?
4. Finally reached someone in another department to file incident report. 5. Still No response.
6. Would have expected much better from such a noted company.

It may take sometime to get use to chair. I think the speed is way to delicate.

The Hoverround experience has been a great experience from the very first call to the delivery of my chair. The staff has been very knowledgeable and helpful about the type of chair I needed when I had no clue what I needed. They did all of the work and now my chair has been delivered and my life has become much easier. I can get around now when I couldn't before. Great experience!

Answer: Some seem to be getting the equipment supplier mixed up with Medicare. Medicare has theirs own agenda (deny! Deny! Deny!), like most insurance co. Who don't want to pay out. Power wheelchair and scooter companies just do what they can. If a doctor prescribes and Medicare accepts/denies, its not the companies' fault. The doctor is valued to do his duty the best he can and Medicare supposed to do right by the benefiticary. I don't know. Seems a lot of blame is possible, not just with one side of it.

Answer: Yes, if doctor can prove medically necessary. Doctor must make file notes to support and you must have an office visit that only addresses the need for your chair.
