I don't know if anybody out there can answer this question or can point me in a direction. I am having extreme difficulties maneuvering my wheelchair. My joystick is so super sensitive that every time I take a breath while I'm driving it, it throws me off into a different direction it's so super super super sensitive. I'm almost scared to get on it. Anybody have any suggestions?
The gentleman that came and delivered, my chair was awesome very intelligent very polite. He deserves 20 stars.

My experience with Hoveround well they done a wonderful job on getting me. My chair couldn't ask for nobody. No better but when it come to a customer service and delivering a care you better go with somebody else

It took 2 phone calls and I'm not sure where I stand. I passed lots of information and coordination with my doctor but have no idea what to expect next. Hopefully I can write a proper review once I get some service.

The person who spoke to me wanting to know if I have heard anything from the doctor or physical therapy department. She said she couldn't get hold of either place. I told her perhaps she should try after lunch.
I had to hang up on her. They kept calling me. I have no answers for you. It seems I have to do every bodies job.
I am 66, disabled and tired of it.
If my doctor doesn't do her job, I will fire her and start the process over with a new clinic.

The Hoveround crew has always been right up to help me within a short amount of time unless they were waiting for a part or something, but they've always been very professional and did what they were to do. I am an amputee and I do not use my Hoveround to get from Spade to be I use it to get from A-Z, thank you so much have. However i've had two Hoveround the first one was very large, but it went wherever I needed to go like if I go to get on my bus and it's slightly raining I can't my power chair will just now it's just spins the wheels just spin. It's always been like that since I got it, I don't like that effect on the new one, but I appreciate having one

Received new chair but has different cushion on it 3 in too high. Talked to hoveround rep and said need order from doctor. Doctor office faxed new order on Friday August 2,2024 for regular captain set for chair so now waiting to hear from hoveround to get this as not able to use new chair like it is.

I reported it the second day that I had it and they supposed to send somebody out to fix it and still haven't heard anything and I can't even use the chair it's terrible

Other than a telephone call to set up an appointment, I haven't had any experience with any Hoveround personel yet.
I called and they said I wouldn't qualify because my insurance paid for a manual wheelchair just a few months prior. They were wrong. Then they said I needed a prior authorization from my doctor. My doctor sent them what they wanted and I received app from my insurance company.
They said Hoveround would have to also do an evaluation, but they could only come on Thursday.
I really feel like they didn't really want to sell me a power wheelchair!

I have seen my family doctor, Dr. Draughon and been to PT - Mt. Olive Physical therapy, they were to send their report to Dr. Draughon and he was to send it to you. I am waiting to here about insurance approval before I proceed with any extra expenses.

I found the process to be a little long and tedious. The things they wanted done at the appointments to me were unnecessary. I scheduled a physical with my doctor thinking that was all I needed. The doctor looked at the paperwork and said you're gonna need more than just a physical but I was already home when he received the paperwork. Advice, make sure your doctor has the paperwork first before scheduling your appointment. Of course I had to schedule another appointment so he could do all of the paperwork, at this time I'm pretty mad. Now, I've done everything they asked me to and I figured, here comes the waiting game. Surprisingly, there was absolutely NO waiting game! I received a call about 3 days after my doctor said he sent the paperwork back to Hoveround stating that I was approved. I'm like, what did you say? The lady on the phone said you're approved and you will receive a call to set up delivery. Again I said ok, here comes the real wait but nope still no waiting. I received the call the next day, it was about Tuesday and Friday, I received my chair. All the staff I had spoken to including the gentleman that came to my house to deliver the chair was very helpful, polite and knowledgeable. I really do appreciate everything. When I looked back on it, the process wasn't long and tedious, I was just being impatient.

I need the wheelchair to function so it is in constant use. But at this age, changes don't come easy and the over sized chair is challenging in a small apartment. It is a very comfortable chair and I really appreciate the power.

Hoveround literally called me 5-8 times every single day! I had my appointment with my doctor & she quickly sent back her part. I didn't hear anything for OVER A MONTH! I had to call hoveround myself. I got put on hold 3 times having to be transferred to 3 different people! I was told I will be getting a call back in about 2 weeks! This is ridiculous! So I have NO IDEA WHEN I WILL BE SERN OR IF IM EVEN APPROVED TO GET S CHAIR THROUGH MY INSURANCE!

Answer: So sorry to hear that. I am no longer living with my father-in-law, but I can add to my earlier review and comments. The company did exactly the same thing to him, again. A year later. They got in touch to say that Medicare had accepted their appeal and that the chair was now finally his, and they sent a guy round with the paperwork for signature and everything looked great. It subsequently turned out that Medicare hadn't approved anything and didn't know anything at all about the appeal, and that they were not going to pay. The story that Hoveround gave me was smoke and mirrors and back came the bill for the chair again. As far as I know, a year and a half on, the chair is still not officially his. I probably won't hear anything more about it now, but I'm quite glad I don't have to deal with these people yet again.

Answer: Yes, if doctor can prove medically necessary. Doctor must make file notes to support and you must have an office visit that only addresses the need for your chair.
