I fixed the price and did not work at all …plenty of better offers online! Your money can not be used for other flights, so they hook you and that it is!
Lost almost 100 dollars and no one to even talk to you!

I feel mislead and cheated

I am a repeat customer. I bought flights via Hopper because of their Buy Now recommendation which I thought was trustworthy, with their Price Drop guarantee.

When the price dropped a mere day after purchase by 40% - I expected Hopper to take responsibility. They offered me $20 back! Insulting.

At this point, even if I cancel the flight, paying a fee, buying the same again elsewhere, I still will be saving money!

I thought Hopper were a different kind of company.

Horrible Deceptive app
May 25, 2022

Do not use this chaotic, deceptive app. I was booking a hotel for Vegas. Every other App I've used (Expedia, Hotwire, Orbitz, etc) include the Resort fee so you get your total and breaks down what your paying. Hopper charges a $100 fee that makes it seem like you are paying resort fee. I ended up paying $75 more than if I booked directly with the hotel. Very shady practices.

I paid for a price freeze for a flight I'm taking next month and due to my mother who has cancer ending up in the hospital, I missed my window to actually book my flight. I reached out to them to come to some sort of a resolution and some thing named Edgar was extremely hostile and still insisted on keeping my price freeze money sending me highlighted screenshots like I would have been paying attention to that with a sick mother. I hope he doesn't go through any hardship in his life because karma is real and things always come back around.

If you chose not to purchase a flight within the Price Freeze validity, the price freeze will just expire and your price freeze deposit will become non-refundable. I'm trying to contact a hopper representative to request my refund for 5 days now and no answers. The flight company offered me the refund because the flight was cancelled but since i bought it from this $#*!ty app the money went to another bank account. So I definitely don't recommend the use of this app because if you have some problem you will probably be left without support.

I never heard of a thing where a customer who want to cancel their ticket can't get their money back unless they're dying or someone you knows dying etc even though we took up insurance on the tickets. They're con people. Just go somewhere else. Not worth the bull they come with when you want your money. Their horns comes out and they want your blood.

Shouldn't be in business

The worst decision you can ever make! Everybody dont speak well, with bad customer service. Don't understand basic problem solving and how to satisfy a customer. I spent five days on the phone before I even start booking and then they played with your money. They refused to give me my refund off of a freeze that I made the same day. They put it in a voucher and the kicker is you can't use two vouchers at the same time so it was able to expire and they promise they were going to call me back they stole 40 something dollars from me. Run don't ever work with this company! I hope my hotel is better than their company! They are horrible and the worst decision and experience I ever had. They deserve no stars!

Avoid price freeze!

The price freeze option is definitely a way to get peoples money. I will acknowledge I forgot to go back and book flight, but when I asked if hopper would work with me, they said there was nothing they could do. I don't find that acceptable. Offer me some insurance or something! I didn't ask for my money back. Just work with me and keep the money. I've deleted the hopper app and will tell everyone I know not to use them. $432 is a lot of money to just say "sorry, nothing I can do for you".

Fraudulent practices
April 14, 2021

This company is awful and exhibits fraudulent practices. I went to buy a plane ticket and they charged my account (currently pending) then after completing the transaction told me that they no longer had availability of the ticket I purchased. They didn't not immediately undo the charge instead they have left it pending and I don't have access to these funds in my account yet I have received no product in return. They also have no customer support whatsoever unless you have a trip already confirmed in which case you can only submit a "ticket" instead of live support. Terrible company that benefits from people enjoying their easy to use interface then tagging on a ton of highly suggested "insurance" charges that could amount to more than the actual flight is worth. Terrible company that provides little value outside of a quirky interface and I would never suggest anyone use it unless you have a weird kink for fraudulent changes to your account.

'cancel anytime' is a scam
March 7, 2023

Bought a 'cancel anytime' ticket. Paid 140 for that. I had to cancel they keep on ignoring me. 20 emails, hours waiting with customer service, agents lying that they'll connect me to the 'right team' and disappearing.

DO NOT USE HOPPER. SCAM. I "booked" a flight and they took $400 from my bank account. I was then notified after the fact that they didn't book me the flight? Now their site states it will take 5+ days for my money to be refunded even though I didn't get the flight. Thankfully this happened they day before I was paid and my trip isn't for 5 months. I'd hate to be someone in crisis looking for a cheap last minute flight, you're charged and now out $700+ and don't even have a flight. Hopper is a joke. Zero starts if I could.

Fraudulent company
June 1, 2021

Freeze 7 tickets price, but I notice I selected wrong schedule, search options to cancel my transaction and found different ways to do it but non of them were real, it said there is an option to "cancel my trip" under help menu but is not. Every time to try to "contact us" link the app is not responding! There is no phone number, just information about Frequent Questions but nothing to cancel. Replayed email received for transaction confirmation they answer: "Dear Hopper Customer,

If you need to contact the Hopper customer service team, please open your booking in the Hopper app and complete your request under "Get Help." We look forward to helping you and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Price freeze
December 9, 2021

I had already booked a 9 day stay thru my chase credit card but went on Hopper to see their price. It looked like it was 200.00 cheaper for the 9 days. I was going to see if I could get a price match and it offered a price freeze for 34.00. It turns out it was 34 a nite and over 300.00. Within 5 mins I was looking to find out how to cancel especially since I used my debit card. You cannot speak to a person. There is no booking info available to try to cancel and the fine print says you can only get a return in Carrot Money! What the freak! Also, their price does not include tax or fees.

Do Not Use - Zero Support

This company has ZERO support. I booked through them for the first time the other day and they booked me on the saver fair when I paid for main cabin. Long story short, they offer no service to resolve ANY issues. Once I started reading though the reviews, I realized how terrible this company is. I just don't want others to have to go through this. There are so many other credible websites and apps to books flights. Please don't use Hopper.

False advertising

I decided to book a hotel with these guys. The website told me the rate would be 153, plus fees. Then, as I refreshed the page it became 169. That was the average rate with other websites, so I figured it'd be fine to stick with it. I paid for it, and my final price was 206. Then, when I went to the receipt in my email, it somehow became 246 dollars. The worst part is, you can't call these people. You have to deal with them through email, even though their app states they have ~5 minute wait time for customer service.

Don't get me wrong, expedia can be a headache but at least you can chat with a real person. Hopper states that my flight is handled by the airline when I try to change or cancel. Ok. I contacted the airline and got an actual person on the phone and they said I have to cancel through the app(which is what I thought was the case). I go back to the app and of course it is impossible to get someone on the phone so I can only sit and wait(and hope) until someone responds to my cancellation request I sent via email. I'll just deal with expedia in the future.

I booked a flight through Hopper. Which included the price of the flight and charges for seating. Booked through them because it was cheaper than booking directly through the airline. Immediately after booking, I got an email from the airline stating I hadn't paid for seating. Contacted Hopper only for them to tell me my seating wasn't approved by the airline and that they would have to refund me for the seating. They also stated I would now have to pay for seating through the airline. So now by me paying Hooper for the flight and the airline for seating, I'm actually paying more than I would have paid if I just would have booked directly through the airline from the beginning. I will never trust Hopper again nor will I refer anyone to Hopper.

Lack of Professionalism

Hopper has the worst customer service I've ever had to encounter. They are willing quickly to take your money but don't want to refund you your cancelled ticket. Will never do business with them again and I don't recommend anyone to use this service

False advertisement

Just booked a flight on hopper and the price was €151 but I was charged €282 plus fees, which summed up to a total of €308. False advertisement and hidden extra fees. Best option is to book through the airline website as the indicated price on hopper is NOT what you will truly pay. Never buying on this app ever again…

Misleading and ridiculous
February 24, 2022

It's written that they will pay up to $100 price difference for any price freeze that increases on the flight during your 3 day freeze. What they don't tell you is that they increase the price while you're booking the frozen flight. If you hit the back button to go back and look at prior field, they make you start over and increase the price each time. And they still don't cover the "$100 difference" in the price breakdown at the end. Scam. Oh, and customer support just ended a chat before answering all my questions about it. Crappy service, will never recommend this app.
