Going on 10hours now that I've had to leave the app open to work on getting a cancellation due to a family crisis…. WTF. STILL WAITING - This is crazy! Not to mention the pop ups. Don't waste your time.

Keep Away

This is quite possibly the worst place to book a vacation. They failed to book our room at a hotel, yet managed to take the payment. When confronted 3 weeks later after we called the hotel to confirm, we found that they had yet to make the reservations. We requested a refund, but Surprise!, they have a no refund policy. Magically, there is no phone number to call anyone and we've been passed around to 3 different people who are supposedly dealing with the issue. Keep away from this service.

Price Freeze SCAM

Don't waste your time using this app; their so-called price freeze feature that's supposed to lock in an airfare rate to help save money ended up costing me more than me booking the trip without it. I'm going to share my review everywhere I can, but in the meantime don't be a victim like me.

They're virtual credit card caused issues at hotel check in and waited over 48 hours for a response and fought for 30 days to still not get a refund for my stay that I never got.

STOLE MY MONEY

I had a hotel freeze. The reservation did not go through. So I lost out on $120.00. Hopper will not refund it. The price was not frozen. I had to pay the original price, I was not able too pay because hopper took the $120. It did not go towards my room.
This is Bull$#*!. I had to sleep in my car. Shame on this company,.

Where is my refund credit?

If Hopper service only offers customers a voucher, then you need to change your app to say that language.
Hopper app says:
"Get 100% of your ticket cost back in travel "credit" from the airline or Hopper.

The app does not describe offering customers a "travel voucher". As credit.

Hopper sold me expensive insurance to change the status of my "non refundable ticket." Therefore I expected a refundable airline ticket.
Also, The definition of "Credit:"
is, An amount or sum, placed at a persons disposal by a bank.

Hopper refuses to offer me a refund, for my trip cancellation.

SOMEONE/ANYONE THERE?!?!?

So I have been trying to get a hold of SOMEONE/ANYONE since the day I originally booked the room on January 20.2023. I booked the room for the 21st of Jan. Once I received the confirmation email I quickly realized that the dates on the booking was incorrect from what I originally booked it for. I know for a fact that my booking dates were correct due to the fact that my wife asked as I was booking "Honey that booking is for Saturday correct." I double checked and replayed yes honey. Once I seen the mistake I quickly tried contacting SOMEONE/ANYONE from Hopper. I contacted the front desk at the hotel and they said it was fine I just need to have Hopper contact the hotel to change the date and fix the error. I am still yet to hear from SOMEONE/ANYONE at Hopper.,

Hopper sucks

Dark patterns and stolen deposits

I was trying to book a hotel with Hopper, and when I found the one i wanted, the app popped up a thing called "Price Freeze" to sell me on. It said it was $30 that would be treated as a deposit if I later booked the hotel room. It wasn't something i necessarily needed but a deposit sounded fine, so i signed up for it and paid the $30. And then i shortly thereafter booked the room in the Hopper app but apparently not in the correct place within the Price Freeze area. Quickly I realized that I had been charged both the $30 price freeze deposit fee AND the hotel room at full price. I contacted customer service and they said because i didn't book it through the price freeze area of the app there was nothing they could do. They said there were terms and conditions i could have read to fully understand how the feature works. I fully admit I did not follow the letter of their terms and conditions, but i definitely followed the intent. Pay the $30 price freeze fee, and then follow up with a booking. Surely someone there on the back end could apply the $30 to the hotel room. But no, they are adamant that no exception can be made. I escalated it to a supervisor and received the same boilerplate. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the entire customer service interaction was done with artificial intelligence. I run a small tour bookings business, and we have people make mistakes in their original booking all the time, and as long as it's something that makes sense and is reasonable, we always go into the back end and fix it. These guys are soulless money grubbing scumbags (who incidentally are being sued via a class action lawsuit, for their price freeze feature). I'm strongly considering contacting my state attorney general. They use dark patterns and fine print to rip people off.

Update: after four or so interactions with customer service where they said their no refund decision was final, they finally refunded the $30 after i wrote several negative reviews and threatened to contact my state attorney general.

Trust me you will regret booking in one way or another guaranteed and you will not be able to receive any assistance at all, literally. Your money will be gone and nothing you can do about it. I learned the hard way. Trust absolutely nothing that they claim to stand by. They will charge you for the price freeze and never honor it. They will even end the freeze premature and still keep your money. There fully refundable bookings will actually not be after booking is complete. Listed amenities will inaccurate and you will incur additional fees at hotels. I have had it with Hopper they have cost me so much money it's not even funny. No recourse to get my money backeither

HOPPER Dodges responsibility to act

Facts
I book a flight for a brothers funeral. (SEPT) $1400.00. Itinerary dates were incorrect. I contact immediately and state this. They reply 3 days later saying they'll deal with dispute and then state ive made incorrect booking. 100% sure of dates I booked. Why wld I book wrong dates for a brothers funeral. They FAILED to FIX IT. I'm still disputing and had to send death Cert and passport details. Still nothing except repeated messages of we will try to resolve yr issue asap. UTTER RUBBISH! CMON HOPPER DO THE DECENT THING AND ADMIT YOUR FAULT! REFUND MY MONEY! OR REDEEM BY allowing a credit for flight!

Scam Artists of the worst kind

I had the same experience as Sarah in her review. I made a mistake in booking. Trying to get resolve took 6 days of carousel crazy which ultimately went nowhere. It's confusing to book with pop ups everywhere. Finally since I did not want to lose my price freeze I went to complete the booking, which they said they would fix AFTER I paid and the room I froze was no longer available. So they said to go here and go there on the site… I couldn't get to where I was trying to go. In the end I booked direct with the hotel and got GENUINE customer service. Hopper insulted me and said my price freeze was not refundable. So contesting that with my card company. THESE GUYS ARE THIEVES pure and simple. DONT DO IT!

Rip off

This company took over 500 from my account that I did not authorize and took a nother 100 dollars I put on my card for a deposit on a room and won't give it back and because of this my whole trip was ruined due to the fact I was short of cash cuz they stole it

This is the worse company for customer service not only did they take a week to respond after promising one day but they try and have you pay extra for immediate customer service. This is the oy company that does that.

DO NOT use them you will be waiting a week for a response and they will nickel and dime you for something every other company includes for free.

Customer Service difficult to reach!

I would not recommend using Hopper until there is a contact number to speak with live customer service agents. There is a chat but agents do not answer. There is an email but there is a standard reply. This is unethical!
I booked a hotel stay for a friend. Hopper stated there would be a hold on the card BUT the entire 3 nights was charged. I tried to cancel the reservation a week prior to the stay. I contacted the hotel but the representative advised to contact Hopper. There was NO way to speak with a live agent. Chats snd emails have been unanswered Hopper took $3-3.58 and will not refund! I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This is totally unacceptable. Not a best practice at all! (This was a booking in December 2022)

I chose a hotel with a price lock guarantee, and after booking in the allotted time frame to benefit from the price lock several pop-ups occur in the app, asking if you want to tip hopper, pay extra to speak to customer service, and add a fee that guarantees you can cancel at any time. I booked a hotel that was going to be used the next day, and there was no need for a guarantee so I declined all those frivolous fees what would be the point of using an app that saves money only to tack on a bunch of garbage after? When I looked at my bank statement, I had been charged more than double for the room that supposedly had a price lock of a much lower rate as well as some unspecified fee that was roughly $20. When I contacted customer service, they tried to convince me I had accepted all of the frivolous fees. I was on the phone when these pop-ups occurred in the app and I was discussing them with a friend so I have a witness that I declined them. I paid and agreed on the price on the site with my credit card after you enter your info they create charges you didn't agree to which I'm pretty sure deserves a report to the FDIC. If you use this site, you need to screenshot everything including every page where you decline their additional fees. When they email you they don't even give you an itemized bill so you can see where the upcharges occurred and why. Do not use this app go to the Better Business Bureau site and familiarize yourself with the long list of complaints by people attempting to get refunds from this predatory app. Any reviews that said they are trustworthy are probably bots that they paid. If they are so trustworthy, why are they unverified and doing so poorly at the Better Business Bureau?
