Be Careful What you Write on the Customer Survey …. If it is not to the owner's liking, you be refused service on your next visit. I was asked to fill out a Customer Survey based on my visit, and subsequently filled out the survey on-line. When I made a return visit (Middletown Honey Baked Ham at 770 Rt. 25 S.) the owner refused to serve me and asked for me to leave the store because I was no longer welcomed. Really? Yes, based on my comments to the online survey, that I was asked to fill out by the way, the new owner from Connecticut refused to serve me and stated I can no longer come into the store. I simply filled out the survey as I was asked to do because they are new to the area. My store ratings varied and my comment on the sales person rating stated something to effect, "it is disgusting to have a person with an unkept nose ring take your order and then serve you lunch... ugh!" Well, these comments did not sit well with the new owner. I found out the salesperson with the unkept nose ring that served be lunch on my last visit, happened to be her daughter. And because of my comment, the owner refused to take my order and asked me to leave; no longer welcomed in the store … but, stating if I promise to never give a poor rating in the future, because it's bad for business, I was welcome to stay. Are you kidding me? Is this how it is done in Connecticut. They ask you to fill out a survey and if you provide a good rating, that's o.k. But a rating not to their liking they will refuse to serve you and ask you to leave. Not sure if that is even legal. BTW, prior to this new owner, I had given many high reviews in the past. But, an unkept nose ring during lunch is still an ugh with zero stars assigned to the salesperson!
I spent 200 dollars on a turkey and ham. It was delivered thawed out Dec 20. Then had to sit in my fridge for 5 days until Christmas. I called the company and they said it's good for about 7 days. So great - 200 dollars wasted because who knows how long that ham and turkey was in transit for shipping and at least 5 days in my fridge so we tossed it out. So annoyed they didn't ship closer to the holiday or send it frozen. To get a ham/turkey a week before the day you want it and to get it thawed out is annoying. What a big waste of money.
Went to HoneyBaked Ham student line for an hour and a half it was ridiculous over there off baseline ridiculous they had two lines not enough people will not go back the day before ever again they had signs outside they had them backwards tried to tell people to go to this line go to that line I'm not going to have that b******* I know they're out doing their best but they were understaffed they couldn't handle nothing thank God it's so good or else I wouldn't even waited and then they ran out of everything by they ran out of all their Bundt cakes everything else all they had was big huge turkeys and you have to wait for them to slice your pound but what are you going to do I'll remember for next year go 3 days early Happy Thanksgiving to all
Serves me right! Thought I could take a shortcut and buy a spiral ham and cheesy potatoes. Was I wrong! I purchased the 8 pound bone-in ham.The ham was moist but so overly smoked it was almost inedible. The kids spit it out. This from a family that likes BBQ. Just not for a holiday ham.The cheesy potatoes had no integrity and were watery. I would have been better off with a box of Betty Crocker scalloped potatoes. Lesson learned $120 later. Don't be tempted. Make the ham and sides and buy a dessert!
I purchased a honey baked ham for Christmas for my family. It's been some years since I last had one. To my dismay I was surprised at how different it tasted. I did not taste any honey glaze at all. The ham itself was quite dry! Boy was I disappointed! I paid 84.00 for a dry blah tasting ham. Another thing to add, it was not spiral cut all the way through. I gave up on the ham after my second serving. At least I know someone was hacking on it taking chunks to work for lunch! I would have been better off with my traditional Walmart honey glazed spiral ham that I normally purchase. So much for Honey baked hams, that was the last one for me.
I hate to say it but Honey Baked Hams are a waste of money.
Very expensive and by the time I get 1/2 way thru it….its nothing but hard meat and fat.
I don't expect a ham to be spiral sliced 100% of the way but over the years past, the slicing only makes it about 1/2 way. The glaze comes off in chunks and is only good to eat like candy by itself.
We end up throwing 1/2 of the ham in the trash along with a 3 pound useless bone.
Since Corp took over and ran out the neighborhood owners, I won't ever go there again. The cheesy potatoes, now replaced with a frozen version was disgusting. Potato's cooked in a milky water with a sprinkle of cheese in the center. The ham was semi frozen, even though I purchase it "Fresh" at their store.
With the clubs now offering fresh sides at a fraction of the cost and selling spiral cut hams with the same glaze, I think Honey Baked will be out of business soon!
We have enjoyed ordering and eating the Honey Baked Ham for Christmas for years. We also sent them as gifts to family.
This past Christmas we ordered and received in a timely basis. But when we opened the box and tried to eat the ham for dinner it was awful! It was dry and tasteless. I have never tasted such a bad ham! For the huge cost of the ham we were very disappointed with the product! We will not be purchasing any more in the future!
Ordered a full ham and sides for a Christmas Eve family dinner. It did not show up. Company did not call to inform they messed up and lost the ham. Refused to provide a full refund. I have no need for a $60 side without the ham. Company charged full amount for side and shipping. Customer service was rude and terrible. Will never use this company again.
I have bought honey baked hams for 20 yrs or more, and I have never had one taste as my Christmas one did. There was not a bit of a honey taste, and it was dry. The saltiness was so extreme that no one could eat it. It was a weird taste, like it was left in brine water. It also tasted odd, like artificial preservatives were infused in it. I am extremely disappointed and will never purchase one again. What has changed in the production?
Ordered December 2023 as we do every year for the past at least 15 years and the honey baked ham and smoked turkey was tasteless and dry. We just thaw and serve so no cooking additional on our part and it was dry. The guests asked was it tofu by the looks of the turkey it was so different in color and texture. Very disappointed.
I purchased a bone in honeybaked ham for $100 for christmas. Disappointed in the taste and the look I will no longer be buying hams from this store anymore. The ham was dried out and had a stale old taste. Since Covid they don't allow you to look at the ham before purchase. I will no longer buy ham from the store ever again. My $100 was wasted..
Turkey was flavorless & dry, tasted terrible. Potatoes cheesy casserole thing hd no cheese & the sauce was runny goo. I definitely got ripped off. Then they charged me 80 USD for SHIPPING / Never again
Their catalog says "serves 6 to 8". The actual packaging says "serves up to 4". Now we have more people than food thanks to their false advertising. Their offer of "all anyone here can do, including my supervisor, is offer you a $15 gift card towards your next purchase." Thanks for wrecking Christmas dinner
I bought gift cards from raise.com in order to treat my family to a honey baked ham. When ordering on the website, they removed the company coupon saying you can't use discounted gift cards and a coupon. This should be illegal. Someone paid full price for the gift card…and honey baked is getting the full gift card value. There's no reason to cheat people out of a discount. This is just flat out greed. I will never purchase from them again. So honeybaked if you can't do the math, cheating me out of $51 one year will cost you business for decades…and I will tell as many people as I can.
I opened up a box of broccoli casserole and found that it was almost halfway filled. It's missing half of the ingredients
But they sure got what they charge for it.
This will be the last year I will ever purchased from them.
Our honey baked ham was very dry and hardly had any glaze. For the price paid I could have bought 2 Dearborn Hams that would have been much better and I would still have had some money left over! Very disappointed, driest ham ever, will never order one again
My $40.00 gift card went nowhere. The cheapest thing in the protein line was a turkey breast and it still cost me $8.38 over the $40.00 voucher. Total was 48.38. After driving to the store, they claimed a system issue so as not to have to take the order so I was forced to order online. This makes a terrible gift! It puts and burden on the receiver and will likely cost the receiver more than any reasonable gift voucher! They obviously have issues in filling seasonal orders as well.
I ordered a ham for my annual Xmas party to be completely disappointed that it didn't arrive on time! Of course no one was helpful in customer service at all! There is a store 20 mins from me but wanted to make my life easier only to get more aggravated! Never order online!
Paid over $400 for our Christmas dinner. Several items including the green bean casserole were substandard but the Ham was barely edible. It had such a smokey flavor (not honey baked) that we joked about having smokers breath. I have been buying from them for over thirty years and will no more. They totally blew off my complaint.
Answer: Happy dog, Happy family? Our local store has good turkey but we go mostly for the hams. They are uniquely good
Answer: Hi Simone! The directions are from frozen, please enjoy! :)
Answer: Hi Angela! Our whole turkeys are fully cooked and ready to enjoy. From thawed, take the turkey out of the refrigerator and remove from bag. Place in a roasting pan breast side up then loosely cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 1/2 - 2 hours or until warm. Carve, serve and refrigerate unused portions immediately. From frozen, preheat over to 350°. Remove turkey from bag and place in roasting pan breast side up then loosely cover with aluminum foil and bake for 4 - 4 1/2 hours or until warm. Carve, serve and refrigerate unused portions immediately.
Answer: I wish I did! Instead you get stuck on the phone waiting for 30-40 minutes and then they hang up on you! Trust me…I'm right with you! My Thanksgiving meal that was ordered on 10/31 was ruined!
Answer: Did the same thing to me! Who, wants to eat anything that has been un-refrigerated in a box for 5 days!
