I have been running in circles trying to change my drop off location, Holidaycars is not helpful in this at all and trying to do it through the car rental agency Dollar Rental cars is also a nightmare because the vehicle was reserved by a 3rd party (holidaycars). I have been trying to for days now to get this sorted, what to do. I am here in Texas on business and and I have received a company vehicle so I need to drop this vehicle off and I am a long distance from IAH and I work 7 days a week so cannot go back to IAH. Do think about your travels and if you need to make changes be careful who you deal with.
If you make a reservation less than 48 hours before your departure and if you cancel it a few minutes after making it, you will lose the entire amount
Furthermore, in this case he doesn't give anything to the rental company and keeps the $ for them
Be careful they are 20 to 40% more expensive than if you go directly through the rental company.
We lost an entire day of our vacation because when we finally went to the offsite rental property supposedly associated with holiday cars they told us we were not in the system and they did not have a car available to rent us so we had to return to the airport and spent hours trying to find a car to rent. TOTAL SCAM!
The voucher we received after purchasing the rental car (€ 180) states that everything has been paid for the rental car. When we arrive, it turns out that in order to take out the car with domestic insurance, etc., we have to pay another €430, of which we will get €138 back when returning the car. Never again Holiday Cars or the company GoldCar that has chosen to cooperate with Holiday Cars.
I made a booking thru HolidayCars and the Car Rental company was charging another $500 for insurances. Saying Canadian insurance were not accepted with them. No where this information was written... Don't book thru them!
Huge scam, stay away, stole my money. I booked and the flight got delayed out of my control. Showed up to the desk to retrieve my rental and because i was 10 minutes past the time i said i would come, they took all my money and told me they cant help me.
WATCH OUT FINGERS OFF! We have had very bad experiences with HolidayCars. I think there is a system behind and could be a scam. After I had booked the car and given the flight number (so that the pick-up time could be determined) everything was guaranteed. When we arrived at the pick-up station, we were told we were too late and the car was not available. I then took a car locally from the car rental company and am now trying to get a refund from HolidayCars. No chance. They tell me it's my fault because I didn't tell the rental company about the flight delay! Unbelievable. We had no flight delay at all. HolidayCars told the rental company the wrong time and now says it was my fault! Many negative reviews on TrustPilot and other rating platforms have shown me that there is probably a fraudulent system behind and that money is taken and no service is provided. So it's better to stay away. Now I've paid more than twice as much for a smaller car. The lawyer has already been called in.
Made a reservation for their Orlando, Florida site. Our flight from Toronto was delayed. Followed instructions and called their Florida office. Phone number provided played a pre-recorded message informing customers where to meet shuttle in Orlando Airport. When we arrived (within HolidayCars hours of business, we went to the assigned meeting point for the shuttle and waited for over half an hour. By then their office had closed. Ended up renting last minute from another car rental agency at three times the price. When contacted, HolidayCars refused to issue a refund because we did not contact them in advance to inform them our flight was delayed. Even when phone records showing that we did call them were provided, they still clung to their no refund policy. Be aware that HolidayCars does not provide the cars, but contracts out the service to a third party. No integrity, no compassion, no honesty!
I booked a car in Corfu in Greece through them, paying the rental in advance. They left me stranded. When I arrived at Sapphire Rentals my reservation was canceled with excuses about the time. I called the support number twice and wrote 3 requests for help but to no avail. Nobody responded. I had to rent another car. They didn't refund me anything. I am making this public so that others don't lose money like me
We rented a car from HolidayCars for pickup in Cozumel and paid the full amount of the rental in advance. We had also verified that our credit card and ICBC provided full insurance coverage for the rental. When we went to pick up the car the supplier MEX Rent-a-car would not rent the car to us unless we paid an additional $300 for insurance coverage.
We reported this situation to HolidayCars and they essentially said in was our choice to buy the insurance...NOT TRUE. They have not provided any recourse...terrible customer service.
Do NOT rent from this company...you will get ripped off.

I rented a car through holiday cars for pickup at TPA.
This reservation was made months previously and all my credit card details were taken, and my voucher stated that my reservation was "confirmed". When I went to pick up my car I was told it was given to someone else and there were no cars available. But cars were available if I was willing to pay $600 more than my initial rental. I was left stranded at the airport!
When I called their customer service I was intentionally hung up on by their customer service associate because he didn't want to help me. It's clear this customer service rep was located over seas and could care less about providing reasonable or even decent customer service. This place is a scam!
Holiday Rental always take of me when I come in town to visit, they have very nice employees and they are very helpful. Especially Teresa she always take of me when I go there thank you for having great service.
Paid in full for a top-shelf car. 20 Minutes late for the check-inn allows them to give you a low-budget. The terms make it possible!
Deposit over 2000€ is to mich for most creditcards. The solution is a second and additional insurace for 400€. Otherwise you get no car. Unbeliveable.
Do not use this company. We found them with the cheapest car hire price for our holiday in Queensland Australia. We took out their No Risk Warranty insurance. Unfortunately had an accident. But after claiming our Warranty repayment for $3000 they have stopped all contact to avoid giving us our coverage payment. We are having to take legal action next. Should have read the other reviews about them. Be warned, they are not worth the cheap rate when things go wrong. An absolute scam.
Avoid holidaycars at all costs. Don't be fooled by low prices - they are a scam and will steal your money. Go with any other recognisable rental directly even if it costs you more. The terms and conditions of your rental with holidaycars are designed to make it highly likely that no car will be provided: if your flight lands 59 mins late then your booking is void without a refund.
I had double confirmed that my booking is correct, and the confirmation email sent to me is a wrong pick up location that why I go to cancel and change it right, however the cancellation fee is fully charge of the payment. My mother language is not in english, the supporter ask me should read the T&C carefully, but they even don't have a pop up alert message to tell the customer about the cancellation fee……
Horrible!
I rented a car at holidaycars and I enjoyed the car during my vacation after that when I check my bank account, I was surprised because they took more money from my bank account without any notification so I checked my email box but could not find the any email. What a terrible situation. I created a ticket for the asking this situation but they misunderstood and gave me the negative feedback.
So I am highly recommending not to use this service but if you want to enjoy communicating with them continually, recommend :)
In las Palmas airport they oversold an extra insurance without explanation what I was about to get. Gave me a feeling thats a deposit which will be returned afterwards when returning the car. No way. They simply denied to compensate it. Dont use this company!
Dear Ari T,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
Suppliers will always offer you to purchase local insurances since this is a way of making extra income. You are not obliged to purchase any optional local insurances, but you will be required to leave a deposit by credit card once you deny to purchase these insurances. The deposit will be taken for the amount of the excess, fuel and local taxes. Please be informed that the amount of the excess is different per car category, destination and supplier. Usually the amount of the excess is mentioned within the rental conditions of the supplier. This sometimes is also referred to as Personal liability. The rental conditions are offered to you during various moments when making the reservation. Please carefully read the conditions to avoid any surprises locally.
We would gladly investigate this matter for you but in order to that, we have sent you a Private Message with further details.

I wish I had read about HolidayCars.com before using them for a car rental service. We reserved a car to be picked up from the Ft Lauderdale airport. When we arrived, no one at the airport had heard of the local company that HC.com used in that area, and the phone number on the voucher was disconnected/no longer in service. HC.com Cust Serv gave me a different company name and phone number, which I called but no one answered. We ended up renting from Alamo (great, btw!) but I've spent the last 6-7 weeks trying to get a straight answer from HC.com about the full refund I requested. Now getting my credit card company involved with the case, and may pull in my attorney. All their practices seem pretty dodgy in retrospect, but I didn't see it at first. SO I'M WARNING YOU!
Dear Martha,
Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to be informed that your rental experience didn't fully meet your expectations.
We would like to inform you that we are an intermediary in your reservation. We are not the local supplier. While booking you have the option to select a supplier which suits you best. During the reservation process we show, per supplier, if they have a desk inside or outside the terminal of the airport. This information is already shown when comparing all the rental cars. Next to the logo of the supplier you will find an icon explaining the type of location.
We find it very unfortunate that the provided information has not been clear to you and we will definitely investigate is we can show this in a better way. Our support team would gladly investigate this matter but in order to do so, we have sent you a Private Message requesting further details.
With kind regards, HolidayCars.com
Answer: Hello Andrea! Thanks for your interest in Holidaycars! The deposit you'll need to leave with the supplier depends on the supplier and car group. For small to midsize vehicles, a deposit of EUR 1000 to EUR 2000 is common. For more specified information you can read the conditions of our rental packages or contact us by phone or email. With kind regards, Joëlle
Answer: Hi Joe! Thanks for your question! It would not be fair to recommend the company where I'm working for. Instead I would advise you to have a look at our reviews at Trustpilot, so you can judge in a more honest way if you would use our services or not. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.holidaycars.com Regards, Joëlle
Answer: Dear Tania F., Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that you did not finished your reservation online, due to the bad reviews on SiteJabber. To give you a better overview of our company, I advise you to look at our reviews on Truspilot: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.holidaycars.com. On this review page we have the most reviews and therefore several opinions about the customer experience with us. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.^Jessie
Answer: Hi Shuren, thanks for reaching out! I have noticed that the confirmation and voucher is sent to you on the 20th of April at 5:23 PM CET. Can you please confirm whether you have picked up the rental car or not?^Jessie

HolidayCars has a rating of 1.2 stars from 191 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with HolidayCars most frequently mention customer service, credit card and rental company. HolidayCars ranks 208th among Car Rental sites.
Dear Jongkuk K.,
Thank you for leaving a review. I have located your reservation, and noticed that you have requested a cancellation within 24 hours prior pickup time.
Since you have not purchased the cancellation protection in your reservation, a refund will unfortunately not be applied. Without a cancellation protection, you will be able to cancel your reservation free of charge, 48 hours prior pickup time.
Before completing the reservation you also have to confirm that you agree to the cancellation policy. I'm very sorry that we can't provide you with a more positive outcome.
Regards, Jessie
