I went on to their site and reserved a car with Alamo Car Rental for the following day.

I get an email an hour before picking up my rental that my rental has been confirmed with Advantage Car Rental.

Wait, what? I paid for the more expensive rental with Alamo because they are a much more reputable company, but they gave me a car with a different company, yet still charged me the higher place that I paid for Alamo?

I will never use HolidayCars again, and highly discourage all others from using them.

I booked a car with Thirty Las Vegas via holidaycars.com. The cheated me by giving me a booking with the third party insurance included. It clearly stated in the rental terms showing 1mln dollara coverage. When I arrived the Thrifty asked me to buy the TP from them as well. Eventually I was overcharged double for that. After contacting the web site I was told that this is my mistake even though their rental conditions show it included. Cheating agency and cheating web site. Dont book anything with them!

They wouldn't wait all of 10 minutes as my plane was delayed. I called them they wouldn't hold the reservation until I got there and now they won't refund.
Disgusting company shouldn't be allowed to be in business taking innocent peoples money

Beware of fees that do not show in the total when you pay, eg a one-way fee that double the cost of the rental itself.

Yes, there is a fine-print disclaimer, but it is so fine you'll get, after the payment, details in plain text:

"Please be informed the supplier has informed us that upon arrival a one way fee was applied, just as explained already within the rental conditions. The costs for the one way fee are 375.00 EUR excl. VAT to be paid with the supplier"

A one-way fee is a surcharge you pay if you will return the rental car at a different location as the pick up location. The price will be shown in the price overview while booking. If not, we will send you an email about the costs after your booking is confirmed. In case you find the costs too high, of course we will cancel your reservation with a full refund. We find it very unfortunate that the provided information has not been clear to you and we will definitely investigate if we can show this in a better way.

I booked a car through Holidays Cars for 3 days in Napels and my pick-up time was 5.30 PM. However, when I arrived at the car rental company they could not give me my car because according to their system the pick-up time was at 8 AM. After contacting Holidaycars they said they could not do anything anymore because it was past the reservation time. Therefore, I asked for a refund because they gave the wrong times to the car rental company. However, instead of a refund they hung up on me and I had to rent a new car last-minute, which was way more expensive then if I pre-booked somewhere legit instead of with the scammers at holidaycars. My advice, never book again with them or their other website bookingmonkey.com!

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service, will NEVER use again. Customer service on the phone was appalling, rude and arrogant. Their refund policy was defined SKETCHY by the manager of the car rental company in the US. Stay away from them.

They took my funds and sent me confirmation of rental car and then turned around and cancelled it because the car "wasn't actually available". That being said they didn't offer me any other options and now I wait for 5-8 business days praying they actually return my money.

Since we are an intermediary, every reservation will be on request first. In this case, the supplier was not able to confirm your booking. We have tried to provide you with an alternative offer, but none of our partners was able to provide you with a suitable alternative. Since we were not able to provide you with an alternative offer, we were forced to cancel your reservation with a full refund. It can take 5 - 8 days before you'll receive the amount back in your account again. This is the time your credit card provider needs to process the request to refund the money to your bank account.

Once again, our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Love how holidaycars sent me confirmation for a certain type of car yet sent to the car company a request for a totally different car.
The car I got is old and gutless, so much for late model. It was not the Honda Civic I was invoiced for, they sent s request to sixt for a Toyota Altis and I received a 7 year old petrol guzzling 1600cc heap of garbage.
Wont be using this company again, would rather spent a little extra and use carflexi.com.
The response from holidaycars.com has been arrogance, blame the customer because somewhere in their t&c s they have that they only are required to give you the same amount of doors, air conditioning, petrol or diesel, and same number of seats and possibly 4 tyres, not what you book.

We prefer to provide you with the car model of your dreams, but that's unfortunately not possible since we only get a confirmation for the car class or category you requested. Our apologize this was not clear.
As you could see in your online reservation you requested an Intermediate category car: Toyota Carolla Sedan or similar.
As you could see, the rental car you may be provided is not a guarantee. A similar car within the same category of the supplier will be provided to you.
We have investigated your case and concluded the rental car you've got provided has been from the category / class you selected. If it turns out you prefer to have an higher class than you requested, you may check with the supplier if an upgrade is available. When a rental car offered to you is not in a good condition, you may ask the supplier for a different car from the same class which is in a better condition.

STAY AWAY!

DO NOT! Repeat DO NOT use this company for carrental at any cost.
We rented a T-Rex Touran for our vacation in Greece.
They stated that if we paid everything in advance the car would be secure and and the exact model would be available for 10 hours from the time of pickup.
However our flight was delayed and when we arrived at Athens Airport and went to pick up the car, it had already been given away to other people. NO car.?!
So there we were stranded at Athens Airport with 3 children and no car. Luckily holidaycars had an emergency hotline for both live chat and phonecall. (So we thought) now 3 days later, none of those services seems to be working. For 3 days straight we've been trying to get a hold of any person from the company. Any person at all who can help us out without any luck. We've phoned their offices in Greece, UK and Holland, none of the numbers work. We've tried live chat and emails and also have left messages on their answeringmachine. And we are met by a wall of silence.
No refund have been given and we are out 1000€ with no car. This is by far the worst treatment from a rental company I have ever experienced. Maybe with this post someone in the company will notice and finally give us a refund. Or at least I can save other families from making the same mistake and putting their trust and money in renting from these guys.
STAY AWAY from this company or rent a car at your own risk. Lots of fake reviews give em 5 stars. Should be impossible with a service this lousy.

Returned Refund
April 30, 2020

I had written a review stating that the company said I would receive a voucher instead of a refund for my cancellation due to the Pandemic.
I wrote them a third email again stating that I had purchased cancellation insurance.
They then stated that a refund would be processed for my deposit minus the cost of insurance.
I am happy to say my refund was processed back to my credit card.
I want to thank Holiday Car Rental for doing the right thing.

If you are in the market for a car rental and are considering HolidayCars.com, I advise to avoid at all cost. Customer service is terrible. We rented a car in Hawaii and the local rental agency had no record of purchasing insurance through Holidaycars.com. Additionally, holidaycars provides no information on what the car insurance policy is, does not document you purchased the policy, and refuses to answer questions about policy or provide a refund. Long story short, the insurance is a rip-off and the company traps you, and you end up buying additional insurance so you know you are covered! Avoid them at all cost. Initial savings are not worth it... youll pay in the long run.

Scammers...

They did not refund the reservation fees canceled due to covid. Then they declared bankruptcy and extorted that money. Do not rent a car from this company. Scammers.

Their reply to the mail:
" On 26 July 2021 the operation of the website holidaycars.com was taken over by Booking Adventures Limited, registered in England. With this take over none of the liabilities were transferred and as such Booking Adventures Limited is only responsible for all new bookings placed on or after 26 July 2021, as well as any refunds which relate to bookings placed on or after 26 July 2021 only.
We advise you to reach out to the Lausanne bankruptcy office for any further information on your claim."

After my car renting being canceled by Europcar the broker did not reimburse, Sending emails is useless they have only one concern it is to take your money the service and contract engagement not at all.

Never book this company

I booked the car rental on this website. They charged lot of my money and when I got the car, the ez car rental company charge me full price. I tried to call this company couple times but they said that I need to call ez car rental. I called ez car rental and they said they don't know and they don't work with holidaycars. Finally, I did not get money back from them. I lost more than $200. Never use this company again and everyone need to be careful.

Your reservation is a basic rate and does not include liability insurances. We recommend you to pre-book additional insurances or check if your personal/business insurance covers your liability. Should you not be able to show a valid insurance upon arrival, the supplier will obligate you to pay for the insurances locally. Before you complete the reservation you have to confirm that you agree to the general and rental conditions. Without confirming this it's not possible to complete the reservation on our website.

We are very sorry that we are not able to provide you with a positive outcome to your request.

Rip off

My flight was canceled due to weather, so I had to cancel my rental car. Holiday would not give me a refund even though it was well before my flight. They wouldn't ask Budget what would they do. I bet Budget would have given me a refund without question. Everyone else, hotel, airline and parking gave me a full refund including service fees except Holiday. Don't use these people under any circumstances.

Terrible company

What a terrible company. My flight to Miami had one hour delay so the rental wouldnt keep my car or even give me an alternative solution. So I contacted Holidaycars and after 5 days I got a response. Actually a response that they couldn't help me either or have another solution. So I lost my damn $350.
Never ever again Holidaycars.
YOU SUCK!

Terrible!

We had a rental car booked through HolidayCars. Several days before departure, we reviewed and decided to take them up on the option to get a larger car. We did that, but the next day we received notice the entire reservation was cancelled. I called them and they said a larger car was not available so they deleted the entire reservation. No car two days before our trip! They offered to book us another car for 3 times the original price. No recourse. Now the test is whether they will refund us for the original booking. Avoid HolidayCar.

I made a reservation with HolidayCars for our vacation to Maui. HolidayCars immediately charged my Visa and took out the funds. They never sent me a confirmation email. They refuse to return my emails. They will not answer their phones. They will not respond to Facebook messages. I leave for Hawaii tomorrow and don't know where to pick up the car. The HolidayCars company is disgusting and they have ruined my Maui vacation. I am going to issue a Chargeback against them with my Visa company, I hope I am able to recover my $1500
