Booked a rental car thru Holiday Autos for pick-up in Morristown, NJ, USA. Their quote which was stated to be inclusive of tax etc. was $593.66 due at the car rental counter at time of pick-up. When I was finally able to find my rental agreement on the Hertz web-site it indicated $1068.69 would be due at time of rental car pick-up. Fortunately I had checked the Hertz website well in advance. I then cancelled my Holiday rental agreement.
This was such a scam! Rented a car at Rekjavic airport though HolidayAutos. The supplier had three different names- Wheego, Wheels Car Rental, Fair Car... they are all the same horrible business. We were charged twice. There were so many people in line returning cars because they didn't work. Just pay a little extra and rent directly through a reputable company. Almost ruined our trip.
Steer clear of them, they are only out to get your money. I booked a car rental through Holiday Autos and needed to cancel it. I first when online and tried to cancel my reservation through their website, but every time I clicked on the cancel button in my reservation it didn't go through eventhough they say you can cancel. Then I tried calling their customer service to cancel it but I got a recording saying they were closed and to call back, yet their website says 24/7 customer service. False! When I finally got a hold of someone in their customer service it was a few days later (after the start of my original booking) and they said since it was past the booking, eventhough I didn't get the car, they would still keep my money. Be very careful if you use them because they have false advertising and aren't there to support you when you need it. They will also look for any reason to swindle you and keep your money.
I rented and paid for rental with them. They gave me wrong contact number, rental car company refused to give me a rental car, had to rent car from AVIS on the spot.
When I asked for refund after my travel, they kept me waiting with rejections for 2 months and eventually didin't refund at all, despite the fact I was at the airport at the time of reservation and couldn't get a car from them.
Their operation is FRAUD. Never use them, never trust them for a second.
I booked a car through them and They sent me an email that they had received the request but the reservation was not confirmed. Right then I email them back to cancel that booking however they did not respond. Later the airlines canceled my flight and I again contacted them and I got a chat box which said that my complaint had been received and somebody would follow up with me. They did not follow up with me and three days later told me that I was responsible for the entire sum of more than $2000. Would not do business with them again. I would not recommend them either to anyone.

Booked a car in Puglia, Italy. I had to put a deposit of €500 on a car I already paid for Full Travel Insurance and this was on 4th September, 2023. I am still waiting for my deposit to be returned on 8th November - refusing to return my deposit saying they never deducted it from account where blatantly this has been deducted from my account. SCAMMERS

We weren't able to pick up the car from Rome airport because we only had Amex and a debit card. We'd already paid our deposit using Amex with Holiday Autos, and it wasn't made clear to us that we might require a different card for the pick-up. The car hire company (Goldcar) asked us to call Holiday Autos in order to transfer the booking to another company within the airport, the majority of which accepted either debit or Amex. Holiday Autos refused to do this, and declared us a "no-show". They then hung-up when we asked for a refund. We were left stranded at the airport until we were able to arrange alternative travel to our destination, and missed much of the wedding we had traveled to Italy to attend.
What an absolute scam of a company. I booked a car for costa rica and paid 245 dollars for the 8 days of travel. Seemed like a good deal. Also decided to buy their 88 dollar car insurance after like 5th time they emailed me. When we get there, they tell me that my car is not covered or paid for! They apparently hear this all the time, but they couldnt help me so i had to pay an additional 298 dollars to rent the car. When i get back from my trip, I call Holiday Autos and they talk in circles about what i paid for and tried telling me i was lucky to even get a car since i "was late" to picking up my car. Absolutely bonkers. They also try to tell me that i shouldve called them immediately when there was a difference in cost and since i didnt they cant help me. How dare they try to blame me when their company is clearly a fraud. Why did i double pay for my car?!
Place is a scam. The company I booked through holiday autos wouldn't rent me the car unless I paid them twice the price that I reserved the car for. Total scam. Will be disputing the charge on my card.
Holiday Autos deactivated our booking before we could take it - and, on top of that, they didn't provide a phone number, i.e. We could not even ask them to activate it in time again. In short, we never saw our money again and we will consequently never again take Holiday Autos!
We rented through their website and booked a car from Centauro upon pickup, they refused to give a car to me because I was planning to travel to an island. Centauro told us that they note this in their cancellation accordingly instead they noted as a 'No Show'. After writing to Holidayautos customer services two times, they still refused to refund us.
I booked a car with a debit card, so the sum of 190.83 EUR has been debited from my account and when arrived in front of the rental agency, the debit cards are not accepted. So why can we book online if the debit cards are not accepted?
I did not have a car, nor the refund of this sum. This is an open and public scam of the sum of 190.73 EUR (if you want to see the invoice for this open scam, I can send it to you). Very bad service!
There were three issues
1) When getting transferred to this site all settings were lost, which means the pick.up time was reset to 10:00. I was classed a no-show eventhough I had given my flight nunmber
2) finding someone to speak too if difficult. No phone, chat very inflexible, need to download Whatapp and speak here, that worked
3) No flexibility in their change policy. Once booked you will not get anything back. I had the car company willing to make a change and give me money back. HolidaysAuto said NO we will not refund anything
Their website had a fault while renting a car. The money was taken (paid via maestro debit card) but I receive a mail after a few days that the booking was cancelled due to an issue with payment.
After ~2months and several interactions on their live chat, the money was returned. The first live chat contact accused me of using an online wallet and that it was my fault the payment didn't go through. It took much polite pushing via live chat, during the ~8chat sessions being constantly told the issue was escalated and that I would receive contact within 48working hours (which I never received). Eventually I got the money back.
Lesson learned, only use credit cards online from now on, especially if dealing with holidayautos.
It is a SCAM company defrauding the customers. Should be shut down. I recently made a pre-paid 4 day car reservation for Cancun airport pickup through Holiday Autos site, car to be provided at MAS by Mex car rental. MAS by Mex car rental did not honor the pre-paid car reservation. We had to book a new car, paying double price. Total scam and fraud. Stay away from HolidayAutos and MAS by Mex car rental, they work together in that scheme: no car, no money... two words SCAM & FRAUD
Can you imagine that you prepay an hotel room available at 2pm. And when you show up at 5pm, you are told that because you were not here at 2pm, despite the room being paid, they gave it someone else. This is Holiday Autos / CarTrawler business model. In our case, the worst is that the car was simply not avaible at noon or at 3pm because the previous customer did not return it on time. A rip-off. I look forward to their bla bla excuses being sorry as they are not. Their customers are the rental companies not us. AVOID at all costs.
When I tried to cancel the rental car due COVID 19 on their website it was just an option to get a voucher. There was no option to get my money back and when I called them they told me that I had just clicked on the voucher option and that I could not get my money back. I called three times and spent an hour on the phone but I couldn't reach the supervisor or manager. Whenever I called and waited for about twenty minutes they told me the manager was busy. Very disappointed and I will never use their service in the future.
So I have paid the money but won't give me the car cause I came 2 hours late due to flight delay.
I regret booking and trusting them, spoiled my mood big time om vacation.
Hi I don't know how that company works in others countries but I really wish to warn people to not rent by them on mannorca. I unfortunately done it on website they offer me £70 for six days I spent £240. They using other company there named goldcar I hate them as well 3 hours waiting to colect car pervy people work there. There was 50peoples in the queue most of them need to wait 2 or 3 times in queue everyone was completely enoyed because paid extra huge money
When we had to cancel our trip to the UK due to the COVID19 virus, we canceled through Enterprise which uses Holiday Autos as a third party broker in the UK. When we didn't get a refund of our deposit Enterprise told us that even though we had canceled the rental through them they couldn't refund the $400 deposit since Holiday Autos had initially done the rental and charged our credit card. After contacting Holiday Autos they refused to refund the deposit saying it should have been done on their web site even though the original confirmation and confirmation number on the rental came on an email from Enterprise. The jist of the situation is neither Holiday or Enterprise lost anything because the car was able to be rented by Enterprise since we canceled three days prior to our reservation. But Holiday is keeping our money. Wish we would have looked at this and their facebook page before using them. It appears they are a sham company to be avoided at all costs.
