Dreadful service, claimed the price paid online was the full amount (including full insurance and taxes etc) yet on arrival Goldcar charged an extra £150 to release the car. Despite me notifying Holiday Autos immediately who said they would assist once I returned the vehicle at the end of the holiday, now they completely wash their hands of it. Sadly I didnt read up on them prior to the booking and can now see many others have experienced the same fraudulent activities

I strongly do not recommend the services of this broker. Case Ref: *******, I had to pursue a complaint myself from the Budget rental company, which wrongly charged over $ 300 extra after returning the car. Eventually, after a monthly exchange of correspondence, 75% of the fee was returned to me, so I had to pay 25%. Holiday Autos, for 50 days, lied that whatever they were doing about it, their policy is to drag the claim until the customer forgets the topic. The only contact with this intermediary is via chat, only then you can maintain correspondence by e-mail. Holiday Autos is a frivolous company that approaches the client in an unprofessional manner, if nothing happens, it is ok, but in the event of a complaint, they are not able to defend their client.
After confirming my reservation on holiday autos I was able to look up the voucher directly through thrifty. I'm assuming this also works for other vendors as well. Chose to pay at the counter and everything went smoothly. Thanks for the deal.
Rent a car through this rental company for Spain and had the worst experience I ever had. I have rented cars in many different cities around the world but never seen any company unreasonable with poor customer service like this company. They essentially have no customer service. They refuse to understand passengers may not be able to pick up the car at the time indicated given travelling from one country or continent to another. All rental companies provide flexibility on pick ip and drop off times when they charge daily. This company only let you to pick up the car and drop off at the exact time or you will be charged a significant amount. When complain they literally take no responsibility. I truly think they work out of someone's home and has a couple of employees. Dont use them.

My flight was delayed and i missed my picking time. Holiday autos told me to cal the rental company to get my resereved car. When I talk to the rental company at the next day they told me that rhey canceled the resevation and the payment is at the Holiday autos. After talking again with the agency they refused to make the refund and they refused to arrange other car for the payment.
"Don't take the risk: Buy our insurance to cover your excess". And I stupidly fell for this when I booked my car in Cape Town. Minor accident - my fault - and rental company took £1900 from my account. AXA who apparently underwrite the policy won't pay because the rental company is not providing them with a sufficient breakdown of what part of the £1900 was spent on the car I hired on what on the other car (what does it matter?) - refuse to pay a penny. Holiday Autos say: "Nothing to do with us - we only make the introduction. Complete scam. If I'd paid the rental company a bit more when I hired to cover any excess on an insurance claim I would have been fine, but because I followed Holiday Auto's advice I'm nearly £2000 worse off - and no one cares.
Do not trust this company. I booked a car using their service and also paid for additional money for their advertised insurance partner alliance. When I collected the vehicle from Europcar, they would not accept the insurance and insisted I used theirs at an additional $50 per day. I booked the car from Manchester Airport with Drop off at Lincoln Town - this was clear on the booking - there were no disclaimers in the small print. When I dropped the car off I was charged an additional fee for premium pick up at Manchester and a huge charge for dropping off at a different locations. Additional fees were $600. In total 4 days car hire went from less than $400 to +$1000 (small car). When I contacted Holiday Autos for assistance they basically say hard luck. Don't go near them. Would have give no stars but the system does not allow this
Appalling company. Lied to us we would receive a refund after not being able to provide the rental car from Sixt at Faro airport. They sent the claim forms out and then reneged. We are now faced with using our credit card company to recover the funds, almost £500. Do not trust this company
Booked a transfer from Chicago airport to a Hotel. The taxi did not show up and the Holiday Autos emergency line was not answered (!).
Incurred extra costs of taxi, phone calls plus the obvious inconvenience. Holiday Autos complaints procedures seem deliberately difficult and designed to deter you from claiming compensation. I would think carefully about using them, there are other options out there!
Holiday Autos decline issuing an invoice despite receiving a payment and doesn't give an explanation to why. Keep getting the same reply - As a third-party broker, we are only in a position to provide a payment receipt for the amount processed online when making your booking.
After asking how can they generate a receipt and not an invoice they went dark on me.
I'm pretty sure that's a tax fraud. Avoid!
Never showed up to meet me and charged me. I disputed with my credit card company and they told them I was a no-show. I waited 2.5 hours after an overnight flight. Ruined my trip. No refund. Worst company Ever
I booked a car through holiday Autos from the Algarve, the price €499 until end of April. Im irish and my country of residence is Germany. When I went to pick up the car I was shocked to be told I made the booking from USA and was quoted an astronomical sum. I had to prove I'm residing in Germany. However the rental price was not €499 but €700,36. Furthermore Europcar did not receive €499 from Holiday Autos. I had to make several calls asking for a refund but to no avail, reason being I booked from the USA. I sent an Email of complaint but so far no reply. I can't afford to throw €499 out the window, whole experience has upset me terribly. I would never recommend holiday Autos to anyone.
Reserved a car for a few days for pick up from Hertz in northern Ireland. Didn't end up needing the car as long as planned so returned it to another Hertz location, where we were assured of a refund for the unused days. After a month and two follow up inquiries they declined to give a refund, pointing to a clause in the terms and conditions, stating no refunds for early return. This was not clearly stated on the confirmation notice, but buried within the fine print. This is a terrible company – don't use them!
I wish I would have read these reviews before renting from Holiday Autos. I can't believe they are still in business. They are so horrible and dishonest. My experience was almost identical to the review on Jan 6th.
We rented from Europcar trough Holiday Autos for $156 USD for our vacation in Mexico. I purchased the collision damage waiver for $88. They said insurance was not included, but it clearly showed it was included on my paperwork. They said I had to pay a $2000 deposit and $1170 for insurance. After spending 30 minutes, I gave up and took the shuttle back to the airport. Before the shuttle left the car rental place, the checkout guy came up and said he would reduce the $1170 cost for insurance down to $400. What a scam. I had to file a claim through their automated chat bot which denied my request for a refund. I now have been denied again and again through email communications with a representative from Holiday Autos.
Used this company for over 20 years and have always been very impressed. Don't know what has happened. I booked a car in turkey and was told by the local agent I had to pay extra for optional insurance otherwise I can't take the car. I refused to take the car on this basis as it was not correct. I've been speaking to holiday autos for two months and supplied all requested information. I explained over and over what happened and they just send random replies that don't relate to my case and refuse to refund. Very sad as was one of my top recommendations to friends and family.
Rented a car through their Tallinn Airport location. After looking for the car half an hour on snow covered parking-lot (and snow covered cars), the receptionist was not able to leave the desk unattended (lazy), finally were on out way for European holiday (road-trip)...
However, to our total surprise we were contacted 3 days later, that we have to bring the car back to the pickup location, because car is not allowed to leave the country...
This is after we told the receptionist we are going to do the road trip around Europe. Never did he say anything then!
SO we returned the car in perfect condition and full of gas. Attendant said everything is good!
Couple days later we get the final bill: $897 rental fee and couple smaller fees (I assume gas but we returned the car full as marked on the receipt)!
$897 for 3 day rental...
Will be fighting this in the US courts...

Absolutely diabolical customer service. DO NOT book through this website. We made the awful mistake of booking through this website and needed to cancel within moments of making the booking and they kept €80 out of a €125 payment, leaving us stranded at Manchester airport. This was because they were unwilling to accept our method of payment and would not take our sensitive situation into account. The customer service staff could pass as scammers. Incompetent and unhelpful. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
* We are also filling some legal action against this company - luckily for us, we have a family of solicitors and do not tolerate injustice and scam activity well! *
Made a booking for rental in Christchurch New Zealand, received no confirmation for five days, hence was concerned, when they had charged my credit card on the same day as the booking. I written to the company with zero response. I am now trying to reverse my payment through the bank as this seems to be a fraudulent company. Please do no not use this company, it should be reported to the commerce commission.
Read the reviews! They are a terrible company, they insurance does not protect you in any way, they request 4000.00 hold upfront, I went all the way to Rome and find out this company has no protection for me, I did not take the car and was told I would get a refund, I have not received it yet and the company refused it after saying they would. They are a scam do yourself a favor and go by the reviews, that is what its there for. Horrible!
