I am so sick of Home Town; it would be okay if they played 1 X per week then you could choose to watch it, but it is on constantly, the same show's over and over. I do not enjoy it and do not understand why HGTV is giving it so much air time. Hugely disappointed as this used to be my favorite channel but I can't stand the line up anymore.

I was watching the HGTV home renovation show "Fixer to Fabulous" and paused it after missing about half of it. When I pressed play, it went to a 3 minute commercial break. Even though I sat through every commercial until this point, I can somewhat understand after a long pause. After watching 3 mins of ads, I rewound to about the middle of the episode and another 3 min ad(s)! Worse part, it took me back to the end. I repeated this once more to realize I was stuck on watching the ads to complete the last 5 mins of the big renovation reveal just to restart the show and go through 15 more mins of ads to get back to the last watched point. No way. I'm very disappointed. I liked the show but it's definitely not worth the long commercial breaks. Do better HGTV!

Too kuch Home Town
May 25, 2020

I wish you all would quit cramming hometown down our throats. I've never cared for the show / its way too "grandmas frumpy design" and way too hokey. There's so many other shows that have endured the test of time because people love them House hunters, House hunters international, House hunters renovation-all the renovation shows are so much more fun to watch except hometown and also fixer-upper which is also been crammed down our throat's way too much. Thank you.

Hometown sucks
March 19, 2018

Worst home renovating show on the network. Ben doesnt even do anything. They hire everything out and he builds a chicken coup and acts like he did everything in the house. Guy cant even change a chandelier. He cant stop sweating. Its gross. Erin is just annoying. One star all the way around

At this point, I wouldn't watch Hometown just out of principle. The commercial is played non-stop - nearly - and Erin is so annoying with her "Just do it!". I have watched the show twice to give it a chance. The designs are so choppy and lack luster. Erin, once again, is so immature with her hanging on Ben, sitting on his lap (weird on a make over show) and her fake enthusiasm. Ben has some charm but Erin's lack of talent is overpowering. Loose the show!

How long do the loyal viewers of HGTV have to be bored by Flip or Flop or by Christina and /Or Tarek?
Their drama and their dull formula for flipping houses has run its course.
Please replace them with shows and hosts that are inspiring and talented.
These two-together or separate- have truly run their course.
Most of your longtime viewers have skills in remodeling and decorating equal or better then the el Moussa's.
HGTV is better than what these two hosts have to offer which is mediocre even on their very best episode.

Flip Or Flop is a Flop
October 9, 2018

This his show is awful! I can't believe Christinia gets her hair professionally done for filming the show... she is such a fake! She's more interested in her looks than anything else! This show should have been cancelled. Their divorced banter is exhausting!

Boise Boys
June 8, 2018

I recently caught an episode of this charming show and have used HGTV on Demand to see the shows I had missed. I have encouraged many friends to watch this show with me and they also enjoy it. WeI love the rapport between Luke and Clint, the two hosts. No one is rude or snarky (hello Love it or List it) or is encouraged to act like a buffoon (a BIG hello to Chip Gaines!) The designs are always well thought out and different each time. Hey, there are no outsized clocks or signs, suitably distressed, to be seen! I would just like to know why this show is only on late at night and not repeated. Do you feel it would not be popular because everyone involved behaves respectfully and with good humor. It's a great addition to the HGTV weekly line-up.

The concept of Bargain Mansions is good. HOWEVER, it has consistently turned the interiors of beautiful, historical structures into eclectic, ghastly, incoherent designs that try to incorporate modern tastes with historical features. The decorative patterns and colors especially follow NO COHESIVE style or design. It's a dizzying array of furniture, furnishings, and art in each room that do not relate to each other or to the whole. The results end up looking like bargain basement designs. I stopped watching this show because it's been a continuing disappointment.

This is the worst reality, renovation show ever conceived! No one wants to see an obese, sweaty, low talent bearded hick and his doughy, child like water paint-by-numbers long chinned fool! Their town is a dump! Their lack of talent is evident. Yet, you choose to put this neatly wrapped crap, on every day, all day. Why? Is it to entertain your un-educated, lazy, fat, typical southern audience? The ratings have to be in the tank! You can do, you have to do better!

Are you insane? Christina is awful. She makes ugly faces, has a bad voice and attitude and that was before she cheated her husband in more than one way. You are promoting bad values by keeping her and even adding the guy she cheated with. And now poor Tarek (sp?) is added like some kind of salacious, comic relief?! What is wrong with you? Get it together and find a new, fun, interesting, nice woman to pair with Tarek. I won't watch Flip or Flop as it is and I resent all the promo ads about it. I would watch a new one with Tarek and a new partner.

Fun to watch
June 1, 2017

I love to watch Ben and Erin on Hometown. They are talented and down to earth people. She does not mind getting in and doing the dirty work and Ben is very talented with wood work. I hope HGTV keeps them on and does away with the Flip or Flop couple getting a divorce. They are pretending to like each other but really don't seem to pull off the concept. Hometown is fun to watch and I like their results.

So tired of " they're not Chip and Joanna". NO they are not which is what makes it different and unique. I love Fixer Upper but I want a Different show. This one offers the format of fixer upper but with a new cute newlywed couple with a different style and new ideas. I'm not crazy about her house drawings but overall I find this a show that inspires me to get moving and make changes in my own home. Let's give other couples( besides Chip and Joanna) a chance to inspire us

Contrived Cornballs

The Christmas King? Really? And the woman shown painting on the commercial looks like she's never had a paint brush in her hand before
Clearly the most unattractive couple on HGTV.
Stay away from filthy beard and Bucky beaver!

Great Inspiration
December 13, 2016

You can't beat HGTV when it comes to ideas! Anyone looking to update or remodel should make this their first stop. Great ideas on how to save you money with DIY projects. Also a great place to get ideas on how to make the most of your space. They also have recommended many awesome stores that I wouldn't have known about at prices that are affordable. Whether you're looking to update a room, plant a garden or completely remodel, HGTV should be your first stop!

For whatever reason, HGTV (and co-owned Food Network) allows all their programming to end and begin late. That means that a show's actual length does not match the program listing that your DVR relies on to record shows for you. If you do a normal recording, you will miss the end of a show. The only way to record one of their shows and see the whole thing is to go in and do a manual "extend by 1 minute" addition to the series record you've made. An easy solution would be for HGTV/Food Network to post the correct times in their program listings. That way, your DVR will get the whole show. The other channels that overlap their line-up times slightly do so in the program listings. If they can do it, why can't you.

I think this show is better than the Wacky Waco duo. I love the honest way that Ben and Erin take on their houses. I love the fact that the homes are real and the furnishings stay with the houses unlike the "staged" homes of the others show. Glad the Gaines are through but I certainly hope this couple stays on the air for a long time. I have not had to look away or fast forward because of something nasty going in Ben's mouth, unlike Chip! This loving couple are the real deal! Love this show!

Don't like
December 20, 2019

I'm almost sad to think this way but it is so prevalent in this day and age. I have loved the hgtv network but find that it is dwindling. There are never any shows with people of color and there has never been a person of color to win the dream home giveaway. I am very disappointed that it feels that the network is very biased.

Good Bones designs are nice but not high end. That's ok however their renovation budgets are big and they don't nearly deliver the results other HGTV designers deliver with smaller, or comparable, budgets. Who are they paying? Also, they are good renovators/builders but they produce mediocre designs. Items never match… often hodgepodge. Many things seem to just be thrown in for the show. They should deliver a different result if they have such high budgets. Other show designers do. They should also consider just renovating properties and let the pros create the final designs.

Small town cool
May 2, 2017

I think this show is good.the couple is fixing up homes and getting people to move back... America needs more people caring about where they live. Not a fan of the art in the beginning of each home showing... but I like the couple, and the town. I would love to move there.
