I have been a fan of Nate since he was on Oprah, years ago. So I was excited to see him back with his show, Save My House. The problem is that I can't bear to watch it because Jeremiah totally monopolizes the conversation. I trust Nate and appreciate his design skills and his ideas. I also like his demeanor with the families they work with. Jeremiah on the other hand dominates the ideas and the conversation. It's painful to watch. Can you tone him down? When he gets going it seems like the wind is taken out of Nate's demeanor and he just submits to Jeremiah's dominance.
Clearly many people dislike this show, but I think it's great! The town in Mississippi where they live is lovely and full of beautiful historic homes. My favorite thing about this show is that the houses are each historic home, full of unique details, and that the renovations maintain the historic and traditional aspects of each home. Erin also incorporates much more color into her designs than what you'd find in Fixer Upper. Love it! While I do like Fixer Upper and Chip and Joanna, I do not like the "farmhouse" style that uses farm sinks, rusted antiques, and empty frames to make gallery walls, etc. (this type of style that is so "in" will look awful in a few years!). Whereas the homes in Home Town look lovely in a classic Southern or craftsman style and will stand the test of time. Personally I would love to live in a home renovated by the Napiers!
Either tell them to act like professionals or take the show off. If I want to see foolishness I turn on a stupid reality show. Let me define professional:
1. They decide to assess a property.
2. They decide whether to buy based on probable profit.
3. They decide on the renovation and design.
4. They complete the renovation.
I don't give a rippity dip about their conflicted personal life. That's not why people watch HGTV.
I can not stand watching Ben hang all over Erin, he is to big of a man that needs to stand up by himself. Erin does not have a personality I enjoy watching, took this show off my recordings. Sorry, this show has to go... time for HGTV to come up with a new idea for viewers.
There is definitely room for another home renovation show - I never get tired of these. But there can only be one Fixer Upper, and that belongs to Chip and Joanna. Please, Home Town, come up with something and make it your own. I was sickened to watch your show and see that it was such a rip-off of Fixer Upper. It is ridiculous... the same format, same buzz words and phrases, same everything. It was hard to watch without me constantly rolling my eyeballs and thinking "you've got to be kidding". I've never seen such copycatting in my life. Try again.
I think that there are a lot of heaters out there.
Probably the couple from hometown is talented, the producer is the one to blame for not being able to create a new show ( new as in original).
You can't dispute the thought.
I loved the show with the older gentleman from Belize. Finally someone with a little character on the show. I have seen it three times now, and I get a kick out of it every time. More shows like this please, if possible.
Love the show. Their so funny. Mina's baby is so stinking cute. He stills the show. The houses are so cool. Karen has awesome tastes. Wish Mina would listen to her. Watch it all the time. Keep up the good job Good Bones.
Please don't bring her back. Impossible to watch. Can't you find anyone else to fill that spot. She's a terrible designer and her acting is worse. No one want to watch her. She's so fake!
Just caught the ending of the show Hometown and attempted to watch a second episode but just couldn't. I haven't even felt the need to write a review on anything yet and felt like I needed to about this show. I feel awkward just watching it sometimes, they have no chemistry, their individual personalities are nothing special and their designs are not that impressive. Just put on fixer upper all the time.
On the show good bones why are full safety procedures not used eg; hard hats, masks, safety lines and safety glasses, safety work boots by the ladies. I don't think your portraying of the proper working on construction projects is ok. Why is it ok?
What happened to Home Town? I love their show! I've noticed that they are no longer showing the show on Monday nights. Has the show moved to a new time/date or are they off the air. I hope they come back. Miss Ben and Erin!
Please increase diversity of show content! Make a garden/plant knowledge show, interior design/knowledge show, new products, how to evaluate hiring contractor/landscaper,... Tame down the number of buying and/or remodel shows. Bring something new! And don't do that with new re-do/flip show... FIND NEW CONTENT!
All reruns now, all the time. The new show on, 40 year old property virgins, don't waste your time! What a bunch of crap. Couldn't even watch after 15 minutes. Season1 episode 3 they crack themselves up, we did not find it funny or entertaining.
The only positive thing that came out of watching the first episode of this show was the belly laughter my husband and I shared over the horrible drawings that could probably be topped by my kindergartener.
The banter both between them and with their clients is forced and weird to watch. It's like the experience you'd have talking with an old acquaintance who just moved to your city and you are taking out to drinks out of pity because they don't know anyone else, but halfway through round 1 you realize you have nothing to talk about.
Look - I'm not deluded into thinking any of the shows on HGTV are anything but carefully planned out fantasies, but at least find some people who aren't painful to watch and a premise that isn't a total snooze fest. (Oh, and designs I would actually want in my home)
Just get up and do it - get rid of this show! First, the hosts are arrogant and really irritating to listen to. Second, she has no design sense whatever. Whatever happened to all the great and interesting shows you used to have? Way too many flip or flop shows in various cities. And how could David Bromsted waste his incredible talent on My lottery dream home. Brung back the talented designers and the variety of shows. How about some garden landscaping. Ive been a long time viewer but my interest is waning.
My children were watching beachfront bargain hunt when I came home from a long day of work. They asked me, "Dad, why are two boys shopping for the same apartment?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? This is totally inappropriate! The producers need to get their head out of where the sun doesn't shine and consider future generations that actually need to reproduce!
Please spare us the irritating ad for this show, the song makes me nauseous! My grandkids actually cover their ears when they hear it & I hit the mute on the remote immediately. Poor Erin is soooo phony-please, Erin, get up and GO!
Home Town is my favorite renovation show on HGTV. Ben and Erin have great chemistry and are fun to watch. It a refreshing show compared to all the Flip or Flop, Fixer Upper, etc. These are people that truly care about their community and restoring the beautiful historic homes. I love Erin's artistic water color renditions she gives each family -she's an artist afterall! She and Ben have great ideas for repurposing and the houses turn out gorgeous! Such a pleasure to watch and would have them renovate a house for me in a heart beat.
What happened to all the old shows? I miss Candace, Doug, Genevieve, Amy, etc. we need them to come back with new shows. I'm tired of all the same shows on over and over. I don't watch hgtv as much as before
The hosts are charming, however the quality of work seems very poor. Especially the painting over of unprepped damaged materials and paint stains everywhere including glass when repainting windows. That's personally annoying as it seems like there is no $#*!s given as a child could paint with more due diligence. Not to mention the use of hideous antiques that have no charm and the personally created furniture pieces are also severely lacking in quality workmanship. Basically the finished products look generally unappealing despite the charisma of the hosts. I enjoy watching them, but some of the work is cringeworthy.
Answer: There are SO many commercials for Hometown ( more than 6 per hour), I won't be watching it because I am sick of the couple posing and posing. So many commercials mean something is wrong with the show. HELP PLEASE!
Answer: I agree! Landscapes, gardening... something that blends in vegetation to give a nice break from home remodels.
