Every holiday, weekend or after 10 :p. m. HGTV has the sorriest shows on. Hate my Lottery dream home, house hunters all of them, Love it or list it, Maine cabin masters, barn wood builder, any and all competition show is stupid, you don't show people how to fix there homes at all, just flipping homes and that SUCKS big times, take that crap off the air and put on some shows worth watching, we are paying our money for these channels and it's not worth is any more. None of your shows help people fix anything. Now there are shows about being a human hamster, roller skating, second chance, I'm not paying to watch HGTV or Magnola to see any of those things. I want and need shows to help me plant a garden, can food, freeze food, make curtains putting up tile or laying floors, windows. Going down to the administration officer to pull permits what type of permits, what is the setback from the property line or road what about a well, septic tank. Neither channel is helping (HGTV, nor Magnolia) and on holidays and weekend your channels show the worst of the worst all day long and weekends, during the week you show house hunting every single night and I mean every single night. Please Stop with those programs, get with the program please. HGTV, Magnolia get back to the best of (DIY) we need that. PLEASE, PLEASE Take them sorry shows off ASAP. Make it worth watching again. NO MORE My Lottery Dream House, House Hunting of any kind, Love it or List it, Barnwood Builder Maine Cabin Master, Beachfront Bargain Hunt, Flipping 101 with Tarek ElMoussa, no more competition shows. I just checked this whole Christmas eve and Christmas day, the day's after Christman of 2024 neither station has anything worth watching, this is ridiculous. This is the time where people are home with family and this is all you have. I will not stop complaining until you change or I will let my direct TV or dish network, which is now own by Direct Tv. Go and save my money. Start showing programs that people want to watch.

HGTV Keep up the great tv vewing! Love it or List it, Windy City Rehab, House Hunters and love Rock the Block minus the nasty NIKA and Brian.

Time to go. This show-format is soooo predictable; I could write it. It has become tedious to watch

Okay, let's start with the obvious, hours and hours of the same show sometimes days and days of the same show. Most notably would be fixer upper, is there ever a day when it's not on for at least 6 hours? Their latest entries Windy City, and Restored by the Fords are entirely different but unwatchable in the same sense. We need a tranquilizer after watching Windy City's Alison Victoria constantly spin of control, have temper tantrums, cry and talk down to and disrespect her partner and makes horrible, repetitive design choices. Restored by the Fords where do you start with this one? Again the most obvious, she does not restore anything she destroys everything she touches. Leanne like Alison talks down and disrespects her male co-host which happens to be her Stoner brother and makes repetitive horrible design decisions and seems to be very arrogant about it. The last episode that we watched was the show she where destroyed a beautiful, intact Edwardian home. We actually yelled out, "no!" at the TV in the beginning when she walked up to it and then watched the horror unfold. Is she color blind? Does she not own a hairbrush or sleep? Can't understand a single word her brother says and he couldn't be any less unwatchable.
Hometown seems to be the sweetest and most creative and less dramatic show they have. We were concerned in the beginning because it was created by the Fixer-Upper folks. But it has definitely come into its own and I'm sure they get a lot of notes of things that Joanna didn't approve of like a lesbian couple God forbid.
Their decision to turn DIY into the Magnolia channel is mind-boggling. We understand that they are trying to make money off of the Christians base that watched, still watch over and over, fixer upper but it's pretty blatant and extremely concerning what they're trying to pull off here. Don't look for any diversity on the Magnolia Channel folks!
Our home goes away back with HGTV. Does anyone remember Carol Duvall? Does anybody remember when this Channel actually showed you how to do things except flip a house for money? We hardly have HGTV on anymore and it used to be on all the time. We did watch DIY more, but with that turning into Magnolia that will definitely not be on our TV any longer.
Goodbye to another two channels you can join the ranks of the Travel Channel, the Discovery Channel and all those shows that used to be interesting.

This show is just forced and the hosts (even if they are great, genuine people) come across as incredibly fake and scripted in the show. Even if the hosts never intended to rip off Fixer Upper, the way that HGTV shoots and presents the show makes it feel like a JV version of fixer upper, and the way HGTV presents them makes them feel like a D-List Chip and Joanna. Again, I am not criticizing the hosts necessarily but this is the feel of the show.

It also feels like HGTV didnt give them the resources they needed to compete with shows like Fixer Upper. Chip and Jo get 15 by 30 foot canvases for their reveal and pristine digital models to show planned renovations while Home Town gets embarrassing watercolor drawings. (They really are embarrassingly bad and come across as unprofessional.) Which brings up their professionalism/polish. They have no polish or gloss and make off the cuff remarks that fall flat and awkward. The whole show lacks authenticity which is the reason people like these shows.

We like property brothers because they are genuine.
We like love it or list it because the genuine relationship between David and Hilary (even if the number of "Love its" makes us doubt the show's overall believability),
We love Flip or Flop because they are who they are and want to make money and buy Land Rovers, but they are genuine.
We love house hunters because the families/couples are jumping into something new together.

But the Napiers, whether they are or aren't, come across as imposters. Imposters in that they "love this town and want to save it," imposters in how they interact with each other, and even imposters when it comes to how good they are at what they do.

I don't know who to blame for how bad this show is, but without pointing fingers, it is unwatchable.
