I am from Canada and placed an order with Hayneedle.com for a pair of binoculars. After waiting two weeks, I inquired as to why I hadn't received my order and was informed that they screwed up. They promised to send my order directly, which they did and I received it in good condition in a few days. They charged me $30.00 for shipping on a $120.00 purchase which was bad enough, but a week later I received a bill for $27.00 from Fedex. I called and asked why I was charged twice and they said that Canadian customers should expect to pay for border charges. They did not offer to compensate me for the extra charge. There is no mention of the extra shipping fee on their website and moreover I have placed several orders with US firms and have never had a double charge before. I feel the least they could have done was offer to pay the Fedex charges but they didn't see it this way. IF YOU ARE A CANADIAN ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY - BEWARE!
This company is nothing more then a bunch of computer theafts that need someone like me to beat the $#*! out of them thanks for $#*!en my kids christmas up jerkoffs
I purchased $130.00 worth of curtain valances from PlumStruck vial Walmart. They came in several colors, including burgundy and chocolate. I ordered the chocolate, and they sent burgundy. I emailed them - there is no phone number available - and told them that I wanted to exchange the valances. They refused to do the exchange, and said that I had to send the valances back and then go through the order process again. They did provide and paid shipping label through FedEx. I sent them back promptly, and they arrived about two weeks ago. So far, no refund. I have emailed them twice, and they refuse to email me back. Horrible company. Do not do business with them.
I wanted to buy my granddaughter the Hape Play kitchen and Hayneedle's price was the best anywhere, since it included accessories ( utensils and food). I was hesitant to order from the site since I had read so many negative reviews. But I can say that I couldn't be happier with the service. From speaking to a representative who answered all my questions, to receiving the product two days after I ordered it, to having the product arrive in fine condition, all went smoothly. My husband and I just finished putting the kitchen together and now we can't wait to give it to our baby on Chanukah. Remember, most people who write reviews do so because they are unhappy with the service or product. Most satisfied customers don't bother to sit down and write something, like I have done. I would not hesitate to order from Hayneedle again.
FYI as I worked in customer service for a short time... their customer advocates as they call them are far from PERFECT... not even close. They receive very little training and are thrown onto the floor to cover all kinds of duties. They are underpaid in a company that makes huge profits and most in my training class spent far too much time on their cell phones while supposedly learning the little knowledge they receive. Suffice it to say the bulk of their expertise is garnered from old google search... lol... we are told if you don't know about the products... which we didn't then just google it... lol... that's what you get for 10 bucks an hour...
I ordered a pair of tv trays, one of which arrived broken. I contacted Hayneedle, they responded right away, and refunded the money. They were very nice and I have no complaints and would shop Hayneedle again.
Not bad actually. I ordered a room divider from them. It arrived on time. A day later my roommate had temper tantrum and punched a hole in it. I called Hayneedle and told them that it fell down and broke (lie). They fell for it and sent me a new one free of charge. :)
I order a bicast leather chair and ottoman that were described as brown and medium softness. The item was actually black and no where near medium softness since it was as hard as a board and was also very plastic looking. I contacted Hayneedle and they got back to me quickly and told me to donate the item that I didn't need to return it and they would return my money. They did refund my money and am going to donate chair. I think the chair is really cheap if they didn't want it back but I got my money back so I'm satisfied.
On March 14,2013, I ordered a "Stone Resin Wicker Design Propane Fire Pit Table with Burner Cover" from Plum Struck, via Amazon. The item arrived in a sealed wooden crate. After using a saw to open the item, then hiring a person to help me move the 250 pound fire pit to my patio, I discovered the ignition switch does not work; the fire pit does not work.
Plum Struck is refusing to resolve the issue. Hayneedle and other major websites that sell the same item, post that the item has a 6 month manufacturer's warranty; they state that if there any issues, they will work with the manufacturer to make sure the issues are resolved. DO NOT USE PLUM STRUCK. Use Hayneedle and other websites that sell the same items.

Intentional misleading advertising. Sounds like I'm out $30.00, which isn't too bad considering what I've read from others regarding their dealing with PlumStuck/Hayneedle. Researched Plumstruck after the fact, Bought through Amazon.
I ordered catchers gear and they sent me a pink bat. It's been 24 hours and no response. Serious regret.
We had bought a crib set with toddler rails and bed rails, with the matching chest and dresser, from cribs.com, a part of hayneedle. We had a big problem at the original purchase time as they had to keep on delaying our delivery (we had a small window), but eventually made it work around their delays. But then the delivery people dropped it on our front sidewalk, and left! (I was already 6 months pregnant... so how was I supposed to help lift these heavy pieces up the stairs?).
Well, in our crazy life that was at that time, we had overlooked that we never received the bed rails. Fast forward to 11 months later when I suddenly need the bed rails, the company wouldn't honor the fact that they never sent them to us, and would force us to buy a new set. Why would I lie about not receiving the bed rails? IF I had them, what would I do with an extra set?
The company, knowing that we would never be able to convert the bed to a full bed without the bed rails, is despicable in their practices in not honoring what people ALREADY paid for. I will admit that 11 months for a claim is a very long time, but as anyone who has an infant knows, time flies and things get forgotten).
Please be warned about this company. Customer service is horrible unlike other internet sites.
I bought 3 kitchen stools from Hayneedle. I paid over $700 a stool They all broke within 6 months of receiving them. After going back and forth with the company, getting new ones, returning broken parts, they wouldn't help me after 366 days of owning the junk that they sold me! Don't do business with this company! The underlining problem is that this store buys its JUNK from China and then sells it to us!
My order arrived on time, but it does not fit because it is not the dimensions advertised in Amazon - so I am trying to return it... none of their websites work - what to do?
Total farce. Not sure what business they are in, but they can't be up to any good. They lure you in with attractive prices, take your order and your money - then its up to you to follow up. After several "delays" in fulfillment, I cancelled my orders. Meanwhile they had my $3,000. Total waste of time and aggravation. Remember the old saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". I cant believe people who work at Hayneedle can look themselves in the mirror when they wake up in the morning.
If I could review this site as zero stars I would. DO NOT USE Hayneedle.com if you or your family is involved with the U.S. Military. This company does not allow for any extenuating circumstances (such as unexpected deployments) regarding their return policies, including damaged or unopened merchandise.
We bought a chicken coop from Hayneedle. We did some extensive research beforehand and the price was very good for the quality of the coop we purchased. That said, Hayneedle put our coop on sale a couple of days after we purchased it. I sent the customer service team an email and they promptly refunded us the difference without pause. Given some of the reviews on this site, I'll be sure to come back and downgrade this review if anything is broken or the refund isn't processed, but so far, I have been really impressed by them!
I bought a dinning set, put together the chairs and realized the post for the table was missing, they said they could not send us the piece, only accepted the return of the entire thing (which it will be expensive to ship, not to mention the time and effort it took us to put it together). They take 1 day to reply to you and they have no phone number to reach them. Now I know why they don't!
Don't ever buy from them.
STAY AWAY from here! We spent $3500. 00 for a Pergola. We recieved the wrong one. We were told it was only a matter of getting a few parts that were different. We have been waiting WEEKS and still no parts. We get the same canned responses from hayneedle. I have a crew of guys working at my house waiting for the parts. This company cannot survive. NO WAY!
Short version:
Placed an order hoping to get it in 2-3 weeks later, after 20+ emails and calls and 6+ weeks, our order was canceled since it was lost in transit.
Long version:
I wish we had researched Hayneedle before placing an order with them. We were re-directed through Amazon, so we thought that they were a reputable company. My recommendation to any friend would be to avoid doing business with this company at all costs. All of the poor reviews that we have read online have resonated with our experience. We ordered patio furniture from them due to cost, function and delivery date. It was ordered 3 weeks before a party and the estimated delivery date was 2 weeks, giving us a 1 week buffer. It's been 6 weeks and they can't even give us a status on our order (which was already charged to our card). The website proclaims 2 days shipping all over it. However, if you read reviews online then you'll see that every customer is complaining about the long shipment times and lack of customer service when trying to locate placed orders. Now, summer is half way over and we have no patio furniture for our new patio. It's so frustrating! We have called Hayneedle about 5 times and each time they claim that they will research it and get back to us. Of course, we are continuously calling back for a follow up in which they say that they don't have an answer for us. The most inept and frustrating customer service that I have worked with in memory! And shame on Amazon for promoting such a incompetent company!
Robin, ne need to reply with your form letter since I already reached out to you with no positive result.
Answer: We are sorry to hear this, Margie. If you have an order number (it may be on the box as a reference number) or the tracking number, we would be able to take a look and see how we can assist you with this umbrella. Thank you for reaching out to us.
Answer: My mom just got a similar email - guessing that it is a scam - shes going to contact paypal
Answer: Every time I ordered these glasses, they came in a well-padded with good bubble-wrap box. The box itself was very strong, too.
