I ordered a gift for my father for Father's Day on June 6th, knowing it would arrive early as he is heading out of town the day before. H&D customer service called me on the 9th to inform me that my order was delivered to the wrong address and they had to ship out a new package. This sounded odd since I just placed the order 3 days ago, but called them to see what happened. The people I spoke to on the phone had no idea what I was talking about and said everything looked fine on their end.
I checked the tracking on June 9th, and it showed that it had left Grove City, OH on a FedEx truck but did not show an arrival scan, that it was out for delivery, or that it was delivered...only that it had left Grove City. Fast forward to June 16th, I checked and tracking still showed the same thing, so I reached out to H&D chat.
The person on the other end informed me that FedEx's tracking system is just an "estimated arrival" and that their system shows everything is fine so to "rest assure that your package will arrive today". I pushed back knowing full well that FedEx's tracking system is not an estimate but a far more accurate system of tracking than their internal system, and the chat person disagreed and continued to copy/paste the same response.
As expected, the package never arrived on the 16th. I reached out this morning and had to demand a refund even after explaining what the previous customer service representatives had said. At no point in time did the customer support rep apologize or offer any other compensation for the poor customer service. Unfortunately my Father's Day gift for my Dad is ruined due to this company.
Order from Harry and David if you don't care if the gift you order from them takes forever to show up.
The gluten-free apple crumb pie was shockingly small. So small that I was embarrassed to bring it to the party that I bought it for.
I wished to send baskets for Christmas to Canada. Started on 1 December, website wouldn't allow Canada addresses. Chat help line was good gave me a Canada website. Tried to put in 2 gift basket to two different addresses, it would except the first and default to the US site. Called their agents number and opted for a call back as they said it was busy and I wouldn't loose my place in line. No one called. Tried to buy one basket at a time, wouldn't go through. Eventually I got through to an agent. I think with the calls, chats, time on the website, I have spent over 6 hours trying to send to gift baskets. On the 12 December I did finally get an agent 49 minutes on hold, but I didn't mind as its Christmas. Lady was lovely very helpful order taken, baskets picked. Arrival 22- 24 December. No baskets arrived. Tried to call, opted to talk to an agent, ph line defaulted after 12 min on hold to answer service. No one called back. 26 December email, your baskets didn't make it, you have 48 hours to contact us and select another basket. Went on the website, no baskets in the price range until 12 January. I was fuming now. Tried to call an agent, went to voice mail twice. Polite but very cross message left saying call me back. Email sent. Agent did call with in an hour. He was very sorry, advised me no basket would get there before late January. End result asked for my money back. Most upset as had told my family they would get a basket. I did get a ph call later about my email. Once again they were very sorry. But I said, I will never use them again and I will be writing a review. Sorry couldn't attach a receipt as I only have a purchase on my credit card as I did it through the agent and I never did get an email receipt.
Had this sent to my mother for the holidays... She loved it... Fruit nice and firm... Very Delicious... Highly Recommend.
I ordered a $25 gift basket that cost an additional $10 to ship but was charged $36.97 2 times on my debit card. When I called their customer service center they say this is their normal practice and a normal practice for all website charged. They then stated that one of the charges is temporary and is used to confirm my billing address and will only be on hold for 3-5 business days and blamed my credit card company. I explained that I used a debit card and no other website needs to use this practice to conduct business with me. Also if this is used to obtain my billing information couldn't they do so with a much smaller charge (say only a few cents). I asked if there was any language on their website to alert me of this additional temporary charge and they said there is not. I asked them to reverse the charge and they said they don't have the authority to do so. I reminded them that I never gave them the authority to charge me twice but they would not acknowledge that and that the only way they could help me was to fill out a form that would provide feedback to their upper management. I now have to wait a week for my money. I almost purchased an additional product to achieve their free shipping minimum but I am glad I didn't since I am now in jeopardy of bouncing my mortgage check because of this (a pleasure of living paycheck to paycheck). Customer Service did not care nor offered any reasonable solution. They also would not conference call my bank at my request to help remove the hold on my funds. They don't care and anyone that has received one of their gift boxes can tell you they don't look anywhere close as nice as they do on their website and their cookies are not the best either. I wish the Girl Scouts would sell holiday cookie baskets instead.

I placed an order on September 18th - it is now October 24th - still nothing! Never order again from this company!
It's crazy to see just how many other people are dealing with my same issues with this company. I highly suggest anyone who is planning to shop here READ the reviews first. I ordered "thank you" packages for other people almost two months ago. After three weeks, I checked the tracking and saw they still weren't shipped. This worried me so I reached out to the customer service team who then advised me there was a delay with my package so they would refund my shipping fee as well as have the packages shipped as soon as possible. Another week went by and I still hadn't received my refund nor were there any changes with my tracking status.
A few days later, and to my surprise I received an additional charge from Harry & David on my account for the same order I paid for a month earlier. Again, I was very concerned so I reached back out to customer service who told me this was an Executive issue and they would have to transfer me. After waiting for almost an hour, I finally spoke with someone from the "exec" team; they told me they would look into this issue and give me a call. Here it is another few weeks later and I still have not heard anything from anyone at this company. I have made several calls back to the customer service team, but I am still getting the same runaround. It is absolutely ridiculous. I have asked several times for my full refunds as well as them to delete my full card information from their system so I won't be charged anymore.
I am seconds away from filing a civil suit, but honestly I don't even know if it would be worth the money. To ANYONE who will listen, I urge you not to order from this company. The customer service is utterly useless and it seems once they have your card information, they're likely to do whatever they please with it, even without authorization from the user. This experience has deterred me from online shopping. I am so hesitant and afraid of companies having access to my personal banking account. And what makes it even worse is that the people who I ordered the gifts for, never received them:-(
This company can't stand negative reviews. That's why all their reviews on their web page are all 5 stars. This companies customer service is awful. All of them can't hardly speak or understand English. Their call center is probably in another country. I'm so tired of talking to people who say they speak English but they really can't or understand English for that matter. I talked to this one lady, I was asking her questions about my order and I immediately new that she was reading off a page on what to say. Little did she know because of lack of understanding English, on what she said had nothing to do with my question. Plus she couldn't even pronounce the cake that I ordered. Not helpful at all! Also, this company uses FedEx, which is the worse company that delivers packages. FedEx couldn't care less about on time deliveries and I know this for a fact. Recently it snowed one day where I live, all places are open and people are driving all over and I'm getting deliveries from other companies, I love shopping online, but FedEx closes all their buildings. The only place that closes their buildings, because of a little snow which will be melted by tomorrow or the next day. The roads are fine. Fed Ex just don't care about on time deliveries. I ordered 3 times before from Harry & David and Fed Ex delivered all those times. Once FedEx actually delivered to my house, the other 2 times delivered to someone else's house. So if you order from Harry & David and FedEx delivers your package expect it to be lait, also my shipping was almost $30. Harry & David did credit me $4 because my item was not delivered on time, but who cares, what they should have done was credit me the full amount of $30 since I didn't get my item on time and still haven't gotten it yet. I won't be ordering from these people again.
Received the large tower, box up-side-down on my porch, no cooling pack, melted. Very dissappointed.
I called their customer service to close my account. First the customer representative keeps putting me on hold, never asking any questions, my name, what I wanted. When she finally answered all she asked was my first name and put me on hold. Then she came on and asked me what I wanted and put me on hold again. The last time she came on she was silent for about 30 seconds and said she was going to transfer me to that department and puts me on hold again. She obviously works from home and without supervision, apparently thinks it's funny to screw with customers!
The next person to pick up was 1-800-FLOWERS, I asked her why I got her, all I wanted to do was close my account with Harry & David and she hung up on me! Lack of supervision again and that's how they treat customers!
I call again and wait on hold for 20 minutes and got someone who couldn't even understand what I was asking (language barrier) and kept telling me to just delete the email. WHAT FREAKING EMAIL? I kept telling her it had nothing to do with an email and she just didn't get it!
You should hire people who can comprehend closing an account... DUH!

I tried placing an order, and we I went to pay, kept giving me errors, I tried for 45 mins, so I went elsewhere, I am glad I did, shipping is too high here.
I love this site, they have the nicest gift baskets and towers. At Christmas I go to the store and purchase all kinds of gifts. Last year I bought a bag of delicious coffee. It was Mocha peppermint stick. They have so many other flavors of coffee that are so good. I love the towers, they have moose munch crunch that is delicious. I also love the towers that have the chocolate covered fruits, Like chocolate covered cherries and blueberries. They also have great malted milk balls in all kinds of flavors, chocolate, vanilla & strawberry. There cookies are fantastic. They have filled cookies that are made of delicious shortbread filled with jams. The cookies and breads are great. They have towers that include great fresh pears. Every year I send these to people that mean a lot to me. These gifts are a little pricey but worth every cent. They are so fresh and made of the finest quality fruits. They seem so homemade. The towers are very decorative, they have snowman and Christmas trees. I really love the different selection of nuts that come in the boxes. They also have the meat and cheese spreads that are great. I purchased a box of 4 delicious bread and spreads that I was going to give as a gift. But sorry to say they never made it to the post office. They looked so good I decided to keep them for my family. They had hazel nut, butter cream, honey maple and raisin & nut spreads. They where so good I was wishing I had ordered more than just one set. If you have someone that you want to surprise with the finer things in life. Or just want to show someone how much you appreciate them all year through send the gift that says I love you. Harry & Davids is a real treasure chest of goodies. Over a week ago, I ordered a Valentine's Day gift basket off the Harry and David website. The requested date of delivery was the 14th... VALENTINES DAY! Yesterday, while tracking the shipment, I get notified that the delivery was delayed and now would not be delivered until the 15th. NOT VALENTINE'S DAY! Apparently there was a sorting issue with FedEx which caused the delay. Upon further investigation, the product I ordered wasn't even a Harry and David product, but a Simply Chocolate product and Harry and David couldn't help me with this issue because the product wasn't theirs... even though I paid Harry and David for the gift basket and ordered it from their website.
I now have a delivery date of Feb 15th between the hours of 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. The email says 2:00 pm, but when I called FedEx, I was told it could now be up to 8:00 pm. Well... that's great, seeing the delivery address is a business and not a residence and closes at normal business hours. Let's just see how truly badly this experience can be. I will NEVER order another item from Harry and David, or Simply Chocolate, or whomever the heck you are.

I was not paid for delivery and did not have to pay for it. It was H & D's professional courtesy that made it possible.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
