Bad customer service
November 23, 2022

Placed an order for thanksgiving. Delivery date was then December 12th. Called cusomter service, woman didn't seem to know how to use the system. Said we would move the delivery date up to dec. 6th. Asked her to change the wording on the card, took forever for her to pull that up and then said the delivery date was Dec 14th. All i asked her was to remove the word thanksgiving and put happy holidays in the card and she had a hard time understanding what i was asking her to do. I think the product is good but will hesitate to order stuff again this year for the holidays if this is what delivery times are like as well as customer support.

I am so finished with Harry & David

I have been a loyal customer of Harry & David for years, the convenience (when they get it right) is great.
I'm even a passport member, however when they don't deliver on time (or at all), it's terrible. More than once I've ordered items to be delivered on (or about) a specific date and when they don't arrive I've been told that the shipment was delayed. That's all "it's delayed for a week". One time I was told that my order would be delayed for 2 weeks, now that is not a problem of the delivery service or the order got lost-they know that they are delaying my order. They in no way tried to contact me to give me the option of a substitution or just to let me know. I had to experience the issue of my order not being delivered, then call them just to be told "oh, your order is delayed "
When I contacted someone 'higher up' I was offered a 20% discount-20%! That's what they give everyone in every email ever sent.
There are several other companies associated with Passports and they are much more reliable.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!

If I could give these guys a zero I would.
I ordered a gift basket 7 days ago and it still has not arrived.
They set the conditions and I agreed. Still no gift basket.
No refund.
Really HORRIBLE SERVICE>
Save your money.
DO NOT USE this company.

I *******@dessertofthemonth for my mom at Christmas. You didn't deliver in January--she called. You didn't deliver in February--she called. And she had to call for March. Dreadful customer service. #deliverSOMETHING! :(

Pretty disgusting I must say. The Chinese and sausage is nothing special can get this at any grocery store for I am sure alot cheaper it wasn't anything special, crackers are crackers again nothing at all special or great about them. The pears, wow the most damaged disgusting fruit ever and it had a little note card that says these are wind scarred pears! Yes the wind scarred them while they were on the tree! What a bunch of crap wind scarring hahahahaha they were damaged bruised and rotting and they add a card telling the story of how the pears became wind scarred what a joke. I bet the total expense cost for aquiring the items and making this gift box was $5.00 at the most. They probably sell these boxes for $50 a complete racket! Garbage!

Don't Buy from here

I purchased three orders totaling over $1,000. Each order was a disaster. They misspelled every order. They were impatient and rude. When I called to get information corrected they still made mistakes. They didn't tell us about promotions. When I called when promotion weren't applied they couldn't help me.

Poor Communication!
October 20, 2016

Ordered several times from Harry & David in the past for different occasions for clients but will not use them again. Ordered something on the 13th of the month for a birthday on the 22nd and didn't receive an email until the 20th saying it was out of stock. Was told that they have so many calls at one time and that's why the website didn't tell me at the time of ordering that it was out of stock. Unacceptable considering a whole week went by! Was offered a refund or could deliver by the 31st. Needless to say, we took the refund and we've parted ways. We'll give our upcoming holiday business to other more reputable and dependable companies.

Harry and David had no problem dinging credit card Feb. 24th, and not shipping until March 8th. They shipped March 8th because we called them March 8th demanding to know where gift to ill patient was. I didn't know I was waiting for Harry and David to plant the trees and wait for harvest.

Poor Customer Service
December 20, 2022

My order was placed December 9th. Today is December 20th and the order has not been shipped yet! Customer service "chat" can give no information other than it will arrive by the 23rd. When I inquired about expedited shipping the agent disconnected the conversation. This happened 3 times with 3 different people. Attempted a phone call and could not get a live person to speak to. Will never purchase from them again.
UPDATE: My item arrived on December 28th. Contacted H&D again via chat regarding late delivery. They offered to send another order to my party at no charge. Delivery date by Jan 12th. We shall see.

I purchased on-line one of their most expensive gift baskets (worth over $220) to thank a professional for outstanding service. Two days before it is to be delivered, a customer "service" representative from Harry & David calls me and tells me that their system had not included about $9 in taxes. I asked that they simply give me a discount of a corresponding amount - after all it is their mistake. "We can't do that" was the answer. We went back and forth to no avail. Then she offers me a 20% discount on my NEXT purchase! She (or the company) must be oblivious to the insult - as if one would want to ever order from them again - them not wanting to take responsibility for their own mistakes. What would be next?

Note, that although I had placed the order well ahead of time, the call came "coincidentally" when it was too late to order from somewhere else and be there by the necessary date. "Do you want it or not" was the response. What a scam!

And since then I am inundated with promotional emails - every single day.

The pears are terrible

We were given a box with pear this year. The pears are small and hard with many brown spots on them. Very sub par. I would never order from this company.

This is the second time a parcel was late to my mom, an 83 year old lady who lives alone and honestly relies on special little gifts like this. I ordered this item well in advance and still they just could not deliver on time! I do not get it, and there is no excuse good enough! IT IS MOTHER'S DAY! AND WE HAVE ALL BEEN ISOLATED TOO TOO LONG! These little gestures of kindness go a long long way and as you can see I am highly irritated. I will be looking for a quality online service to send my mom loves and hugs when I cannot. Wish me luck and good-bye harry and david...

ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED
December 22, 2020

Based on all of the recent reviews, clearly Harry & David and its parent company, 1-800-Flowers.com are having some pretty serious problems. I'm in Oregon, and as an Oregon company, H&D used to have such a great reputation. Like many of the others here, I placed my order on Dec. 15 for delivery on Dec. 23. It was confirmed, my credit card was charged, and everything seemed to be on track. Then I received an email today, Dec. 22, saying that the item is not available and they can't meet the delivery date. After much back and forth and being disconnected 4 times from their customer service which is presumably in India or elsewhere in the world, I demanded a full refund for the item as well as their "Passport" since I am NEVER going to use them again. Hoping getting my money back won't be as bad as the reset of this experience, but I'm not holding my breath.

This was, of course, supposed to be a Christmas present. I selected them over purchasing something from Amazon, which I now deeply regret. I am so angry and disappointed. Absolutely terrible service. DO NOT USE THEM!

I'm a longtime customer, but when I placed my order in time to get a discount, the system didn't show a discount. The web site said the discounts applied to "all products, no minimum." I called them, and they said their web page was "in error" -- should have said minimum of $50 and only certain products. They looked at their web page and AGREED IT WAS WRONG but wouldn't give me the discount -- said they didn't have the authority and couldn't connect me to anyone who did have the authority! Stay away. There's something bad going on with them these days.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HARRY AND DAVID ONLINE — IT IS ALWAYS A DISASTER!
Because we like their unique Fruitcake Confection, we keep giving them a chance, but it is always WRONG - wrong items, wrong delivery (not by the promised date, or not at all), wrong charge on our bill — they are a completely unreliable company. … And when it's wrong, they put all the work on you to "get it right" as they falsely promise, so that really isn't them making anything right.

I guess they have survived all these years because they fill a certain niche and have name recognition. Yelp = 3 Stars. Facebook = 2.6 Stars. Trust Pilot = 1.3 Star SiteJabber = 2 Stars So it's just not me — DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!

Go elsewhere … Anywhere else!

Lost package

As long as Harry and David continue to use Fed Ex for the delivery service I will NEVER order from them again. Can't even review what I ordered since Fed Ex decided it would look better at their home than mine.

The gift items published on the site appear very good and ideal for gifts for special occasions. I had ordered their 'Tower of Treats Signature Gift' for my brother in Canada, which was supposed to be delivered in a weeks time. After 2 weeks the FedEx status showed 'In Transit' i had to contact the customer services, they were quick in responding via email, but they had no clue as to what had happened to the package, they offered to compensate by giving a replacement only to be told a day later that the particular package has been excluded from shipping to Canada! What! I mean it just happened instantly in one day? The exclusion! They also told me the package wasnt delivered since the recipient wasnt at home to accept the delivery... which was such a lie, there was no attempt made for the delivery. In all this mess my brothers birthday was long gone and there was not point sending him any other gift so late in the day! Such a fiasco. Please avoid them! The irony being all their emails have the signature."Customer satisfaction is very important to us"!

Terrible customer service

I had a fairly simple problem: My free shipping through my Passport membership (which I paid for) was not showing up on the order form. I went through this in a long conversation with a chat agent, then an email conversation with a different Loyalty agent who told me to wipe my browser history, then another Loyalty agent who had no record of any of my previous contact and could not find my Passport membership and told me to call, which I did, only to be disconnected twice and now my emails are again being answered as if there is zero record of my previous interactions. TERRIBLE customer service - it may be bots or it's people with no access to record-keeping or incentive to actually help.
