"Harry and David" should be renamed: "Horrifying and Dreadful"

Yes, Harry and David is over-priced.
Yes, Harry and David is exorbitantly priced.
Yes, Harry and David is throwing money away.
Yes, Harry and David offers confusing/misleading discounts.

You might expect Service and Quality – WRONG! Here's the reality:
• 8 Mistakes (8 inexcusable mistakes)
• 4 Hours of my time – wasted
• 4 Inconsequential e-mails from Customer Services Support
• 2 Incompetent, inept supervisors
• 2 Appallingly ignorant, poorly-trained sales associates

What's the icing on the cake? My surprise gift basket was delivered on the wrong date – 11-days too early! And yes, the delivery date was clearly stated on the order!

BTW, my name is incorrect, not once, but in two different places – and cannot be corrected!

Want to waste your time and money... Harry and David is where incompetence and waste shamefully meet.

Caveat Emptor - Let the Buyer Beware!

Never again
April 10, 2020

On April 2 iplaced an order which was to be delivered on April 8
It was not delivered so when I called I was told, oh someone should have notified you, it was out of stock
It was needed for Good Friday, so I asked to have another order overnighted to my daughter. I was guaranteed this would be done. I called the next morning to make sure it went out and was told it was out for delivery
When we could not track it on fed ex I called again and was told it had not gone out but would be overnighted for next day delivery. This did
Not help as it was a dinner for Good Friday so we could all have a seafood festival Virtually in This age of self isolation.
Now we have one family member with no seafood to join in the celebration and too late to order anything now. Three times the ball was dropped on this order. There is no excuse for that. And lobster dinners are not cheap.
Never again. Save yourself aggravation and order somewhere else.

Received as part of gift basket. Yuck. Called customer service located in Philiipines. Terrrible langage barrier. Rep kept asking me what I would like to order. Called back hoping to get a different person.same problem with the 2nd rep. Online support with live chat was only automated responses. Filled out customer survey that just went around in circles with no resolution.

I was assured on multiple occasions by their staff, if I paid the extra shipping charge, they could guarantee my package to get to its location on time. The package did not arrive on time. When I called to track with Harry & David, as late as 3pm on the delivery day, they told me it was still going to be delivered. However, after speaking with the FedEx Management team, they told me that Harry and David did not ship my package Express. They sent it ground service and that Harry and David knew the package was not going to arrive on time.
So let me recap. I ordered a packaged on the 11th, I was assured it would arrive on the 14, I paid extra money and I was repeatedly told it would get there. FedEx confirmed the package would not arrive until Monday, the 17th.
I could have walked the package there... I will NEVER trust this company. If you read other reviews, you will see similar stories. I just wish I had read a review.

After receiving rotten pears w worms inside, Harry & David sent me a box of delicious cheese, crackers and sausage with a note of apology. Nice gesture to make the prior order issues, better.

Don't buy here

I got double billed and they told me to just dispute it with my bank. No effort whatsoever to correct the problem after an hour on hold.
Don't do orders with these people!

Rotten and bruised pears

This is the second year in a row that my parents sent us a fruit basket from Harry & David. The quality of their pears is terrible. They are bruised and rotten. Don't waste your money on them.

Beyond Frustrated
December 21, 2020

I ordered two cheescakes, pumpkin and raspberry swirl, on December 15 as Christmas gifts for an extended family of 10 people. On December 21, I received a voice message that one of the orders had been cancelled because it wasn't really available. Really? You leave me a message six days after I placed my order and four days before Christmas?

When I went to the H&D website to see what options I might have, the Raspberry Swirl cheesecake (which had been cancelled) was still showing as "available to ship now." I called customer service, no options were offered. I was told nothing would be availble to ship until January 2021.

If memory serves me, I had a similar experience wiht them couple of years ago. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice... I am done with Harry & David.

Made an order for my brothers birthday on December 2nd to be delivered on December 4th. Kept checking as deadline approached due to no response. Called customer service over 10 times and was told my order would be on time. Frustrated I called Fed X who told me the order was damaged and to call shipping. Spoiled my trust. Order was to go to New Mexico but was still in California pending. I had to do all the WORK! I canceled order and they still have not refunded me.

Disappointed
January 10, 2020

I ordered a few gifts for others and Honeybells for myself. I just received the oranges and they are awful! I emailed the company, no response. I called today and spoke to a snarky female. She said that the reason they are green and have black and brown spots is because sometimes the oranges are not completely in the sun. I asked her if they have a quality control process. She then said that I shouldn't judge a book by its cover! What the heck? I will never order from them again. It's sad. Obviously the company could care less about their customers. There lack of quality and rude service will catch up with them one day.

NEVER BUY FROM HARRY AND DAVID EVER AGAIN!

I was charged $30 for 2 day shipping.
Then received an email saying my item would not be delivered for 10 days.
I didn't FORTY MINUTES on the phone with customer service which was clearly outsourced to India.
The woman barely spoke English and did not one thing to help me and then hung up on me!
I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM EVER AGAIN! 0

Just add me to the list of disappointed customers. The evening before Thanskgiving I receive an email that it will be delivered by Nov 30. They didnt even get that right. It showed on Dec2nd. I cancelled the order immediately. Who wants a Thanksgiving feast without family and guests that had to be sent away. They acknowledged the cancellation and said they would refund the money. None of this happened. Stay away from Harry and David. Totally embarassed.

Peppermint Cheesecake, not worth the cost

I sent this Peppermint cheesecake as a birthday gift.
I asked the friend who received it to send me pictures of the cheescake delicered to her.
To be totally honest, I embarassed that I sent this to her.
Extremely small!
Decoratively- The product looked poor, no peppermint flecks on the top, it did not look complete.
I have used this company for 1-800- flowers many times and have always received what I expected.
But I won't ever order any items from Harry &David again.
Extremely disappointed.
I will be doing this review again on Google, so I can upload pics of this cheesecake.

My name is Dr. Gwin-Davis. I received a surprise gift from a dear friend who was expressing gratitude with a Harry and David gift basket. The box arrived but wasn't opened immediately. Unbeknown, there were pears in the bottom of the basket. The pears were rotten and consequently, soiled a significant portion of the entire gift basket's contents. The items were not consumable. I made the sender aware of this condition. The sender will request a refund ay my request.

Contacted customer service when my daughter received rotten pears. Couldn't believe the customer service person I spoke to could barely speak English and her pet rooster was so load, was difficult to try and understand her! WTF! POOR, POOR, POOR way to run a business! Never again!

Service has gotten awful

I have ordered from them for years for my business holiday gifts. They used yo provide reliable shipping on my selected dates to my customers. This year 2 gifts were shipped 2 weeks too early, one to the same office did not ship at same time. Contacted customer service 3 times. First time the rep who had trouble understanding Englush said he could not find the order. Second time the rep put me on hold 3 times, came back giving me information on another customer's order so I hung up. Third time rep told me she didn't know why order shipped too early and that she could not change the ship date on the 3rd item to the same office. I explained that since the gifts were to customers at same company, it looked like I sent some of them a gift and left others out so I needed the other gift to be shipped now She said she couldn't change it. It is always disappointing when a once great company gets so bad. Won't be giving yhem any more business.

Terrible service
December 21, 2021

I made an order one month ago three baskets for christmas! I paid over 300$ and they shipped the one wrong day and they called me 4 days before christmas to tell me they don't have the items. I asked for refund they told me 10 days and i told them i need them now! The guy told me he spoke with the supervisor and they will refund my money right away! Guess what? Still i dont have my money back. I called and one lady told me 7-10 days! They are terrible. Also you can't really understandwhat they say. I have an accent too but i am not working for customers service and esspecially on the phone!

Unbelievably bad
May 14, 2022

I ordered a mixed gift basket of fruit and snacks. When they arrived, all of the fruit was bad and the cheese was rancid. I contacted Harry and David and they sent 2nd shipment. That one arrived with 1/3 of the fruit was bad and once again the cheese was melted and rancid. Never ordering from them again. They use to have great products, not sure what happened, but they are horrible. Never ordering from them again.

My sister recieved a basket, and contacted Harry and Davids, and even though all of her cheese she recieved was melted, they only gave her a bag of nuts in replace.
