Terrible experience - buyer beware. Ordered 5 days ago and still has not shipped. My shipping cost $22 and they implied it was 2 day shipping - I should've read the fine print so that's my fault. Went to track the status, stays it is going to be delivered "December 21,2049" - today is 09/11/2020. Guess I'll be waiting 29 more years.
I called their customer service so I can check the status and said their wait time was 30 minutes. Waited and waited and never got thru. Emailed their customer service and received nothing. Called 2 more times and finally got thru after waiting 40 minutes each time. I decided to cancel the order since it's been such a difficult process to talk to someone to find out the shipping status of my gift that I didn't want to know how difficult it was going to be if something actually went wrong with my order/delivery.
I was able to cancel my order without a problem when I finally got to talk to someone but they make the whole process difficult, ambiguous and tedious for a simple order when it should be like ordering anything else online. Not worth the time, money, hassle and headache when there are so many other options out there.
Will never order from them again. I guess I'm not the only one that feels this way looking at the reviews. They have been around for a while so I thought I could trust this company. My biggest regret is that I didn't search their reviews before ordering.
They don't even deserve 1 star. They messed up a Christmas order so badly. It finally got delivered the end of January. Terrible customer service. Their products are of the lowest quality.
I ordered items before Thanksgiving and still not delivered. Called 3 times and was given no option. Bad bad delivery business - stay away from this company.
I ordered three shipments on December 5. Two have been delivered. One was confirmed but nothing has happened in a week. I wrote an email inquiring what was holding them up. No Answer. I phoned the customer service number listed. I said they could put me in the cue and call me back. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. I called again and held and had to answer 16 times that "yes" I wanted hold and "yes I wanted to select #1" and then after waiting at least a half and hour someone called and I immediately answered and they HUNG UP! TERRIBLE WEB SITE> DON"T ORDER from HARRY AND DAVID
Great Selection - good options for joining and for discounts including free shipping - However, I will Never TRY (try being the key word here) them again. I could not get the checkout page to load and called for assistance; I was told, by the IT lady, if you are using Microsoft Edge or Chrome - it can take more than 24 hours to load the checkout page! I work in IT and this is the most absurd response I have ever received from any company IT representative. In this age of technology - nothing takes 24 hours to load. So, the answer is - they don't know how the technology works - the person on the phone is not an IT person and cannot help - They can only place the order. If they can't get a webpage and checkout right - what confidence do I have that they can get the order right!
Placed 3 orders on December 19th totalling over $1000. I paid extra to ensure the orders were delivered by Thursday the 23rd. One was delivered when it was supposed to. With the other two, I received a Fedex tracking number on Wednesday which showed as scheduled for delivery next day. However, this is Sunday the 26th and my order still has not shipped. I call them and am told that the items I ordered are now unavailable until the end of January, and they can't get anything to the recipient before December 30th, and even this they can't guarantee. I understand that things happen, but I don't understand why I wasn't informed until AFTER the gift was meant to be there.
Briefly, I ordered a gift box from H&D. I then immediately went back and tried to order another one. The price had gone UP $5. I tried on my phone... same thing (they have my number so they know it's me). I tried on a friend's computer, and the price was the original one. I have a receipt that shows that I paid $5 more for the exact same gift box ordered 3 minutes after the first one. Basically, they are adjusting their prices based on past customer purchases. If you buy something, there's a good chance that that product will have a higher price the next time you visit their website (in my case, it was literally just seconds later). I spent hours on the phone and chat talking to them, and they totally ignored my complaint, giving me the standard BS about how they "value my business". Finally, somebody responded to my concern and denied that they adjust prices. I have absolutely incontroveritible proof that they do raise prices based on your purchases, but only for you. I have been a Christmas customer of Harry & David for 21+ years. My Christmas orders this year were delivered one month early. Their products are not inexpensive and I think my order should be delivered when I REQUEST THEM TO BE DELIVERED. NOT WHEN HARRY & DAVID NEEDS TO POST THEIR REVENUES. Taking my future business elsewhere... with a company that can respect my ordering request.
For the holidays I spent approximately >$200. The quality of the items I received was abominable. TWO plants in ONE herb garden were unusable/DOA. (I don't want to ask about the other GIFT I gave!) I was given a "whopping" $12 credit on the one i purchased for myself.
This is NOT the Harry & David that I remember from decades ago-- I will never EVER purchase from them again.
My daughter ordered a gift box in early October 2022, in hopes that it would arrive later in the month for my birthday. After many promises, I finally received ONE Jared of preserves THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS! As of today (January 23,2023) I still haven't received the rest of the order. Don't waste your time with these frauds!
Very disappointed. I order a basket two weeks in advanced, they charge me $25 for shipping because it was to deliver over the weekend. Well I called the day of and they said it would be delivered by the end of the day. Called the next day and spoke to a supervisor and same story. Called again the next day and same story. So I cancelled my order. I will NOT RECOMMEND this company to ANYONE. Spend your money elsewere. This was supposed to be a borthday surprise and they RUINED it
I have been dealing with Harry and David for a while and placed an Order for nearly 300.00 for a Turkey Dinner for a friend that was suppose to be Delivered on the 24th.
It was not as it hasn't even left! They argued on the phone stating "WHATEVER" and I was wrong! My order clearly shows Delivery the 24th which I paid extra for, rather than admitting their mistakes they use the words "WHATEVER"! Unbelievable and after the recent 9 SEPARATE ORDERS I HAVE PAID FOR HARRY AND DAVID CAN GO TO HELL! LIARS!
Last year I ordered items to be sent to two persons. In both cases, they did not include the personal messages that I said I wanted sent. Some of the food items were stale. I was informed of delivery dates that kept getting pushed back with no reason. This year I thought I would give them one more chance. The person who answered my call was very difficult to understand. WHY CAN'T THESE COMPANIES HIRE PEOPLE WHO CAN SPEAK DECENT ENGLISH? She insisted that I give her my actual home address instead of the UPS store that I use as my mailing address. Nothing I wanted to order was going to be sent to me and no other company that I have ever ordered from has ever insisted on my actual home address. I told her to forget it and I have now told H&D to remove my name from their mailing lists. Absolutely the worst service and product I have ever experienced from any mail order company.
I ordered a lobster pot pie for my Valentine dinner. My order was placed on Feb 10th and it shipped on Feb 15th. I tracked it via FED EX and it was supposed to arrive on the 17th. Today I contacted Harry & David to say I haven't received it & they are sending a new Pot Pie. I would be afraid to eat the pot pie with the extended time even if it shows up today. It shipped from Ohio & I am in Pa. It went from Ohio to Pa. To NY and back to Pa. & is sitting for 2 days at my local FEDEX site so FEDEX is part of the problem
I ordered a basket for someone and when it was delivered 3 of the pears were rotten and leaked. Customer service was very good and offer to resend to which I agreed because it was a birthday. To my surprise the replacement was worst than the 1st. I CANNOT believe H & D will ship these. I have NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED. I have been using this company for years because of the past quality but not any more. I added a picture. I asked for a refund and they said it will be processed but I wanted a gift basket!
The website said that the gift I purchased for my mother would be there by mothers day guaranteed!

What a waste of calories! I received a tray of sweet baked goods as a gift and was unpleasantly surprised by the quality. I wouldn't have known that the shortbread cookies were shortbread cookies without a label, since they weren't buttery or crumbly and were kind of soft.
Likewise the other cookies I sampled weren't up to par, out of three types I tried only the macaroon was good. The wooden tray is stupid and who is going to serve guests prepackaged cakes and cookies on a wooden tray? I had to call to complain, there's no place to do that on their website, and the first phone call was "disconnected" and I had to try again. I am getting a refund for the person who ordered it.
To start I was hung up on 3 times after holding for 1 1/2 hours. They didn't listen to what I had to say, I was overcharged on shipping they offered nothing It's like I was in the Twilight Zone. Then my number was blocked from them it was disgusting, NO BODY LISTENED. I will never order from them again. One of my WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
Cheap supermarket food dressed up to look impressive. Photos are enhanced and the food is made to look a lot larger (smaller plates?) The so called hand made plate is a joke, warped and won't sit straight. Salmon is the only really edible food because it is vacuum packed even then the portions are tiny frozen and low cost items.
$40-60 WORTH OF FOOD FOR $200 PLUS SHIPPING!

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
