I'm not sure if harr and david actually have customer service staff because after a lifetime of waiting I still never got any assistance. I have ordered many times from this company but this last order is exactly that, my last.
I ordered gift basket *******x as a birthday gift and expected it to ship complete. The recipient got 3 deliveries making it look very small and not like a bundle of goodies as advertised. Plus, the products are mediocre. The cake was just like you would bake at home. The package cost $159.00 before taxes. I will never order from them again, ever. They ruined my surprise for a family member on a very important day. I am heart broken.
This product arrived to me, not as advertised. The picture shows beautiful cookies in an elegant box. What arrived was twelve pair of cookies wrapped in plastic wrap. Upon tasting the cookies they were very disappointing in taste. Pepperidge farm cookies are much better and way less money... No satisfaction after chatting with a customer service person.
My daughter sent me a box for Christmas. I was too distraught to tell her how horrible the pears looked. The quality was not fit to feed to squirrels. Shame on the person who pass this on as quality fruit. I would love to send a picture.
Went to place an order tonight and the discount for shipping was not applying. Something I recently paid for. So I called them and placed the order over the phone. The young woman was delightful. Communication was flawless. Made a pitch to sell me something bigger and laughed when I said I am
Sure there is something even bigger, but I am not buying. So, I got the discount. Package to be delivered on time for my brother's birthday.
I will NEVER order again guaranteed 4-7 days now on day 11 called today guy was rude not understanding and stayed quite after heating my dissatifation! Horrible service and Zero customer service ability! Think twice before ordering u will not be happy!
If you empty the 10-ounce bag of Harry & David cashews into its decorative tin, the result will not appear to be as brimming and chockfull as the deceptive picture indicates on H&D's website (please see the attached pictures). 10 ounces of cashews will only fill the tin about half way. The cashews taste ok but please don't use the marketable platitude "finest" for any product containing inferior and cheap cottonseed oil. For $30, a wise shopper with little effort could purchase about four times the amount of cashews, and unlike the overrated, overpriced product from Harry & David, every cashew piece would be organic, cooked in organic oil, and unsalted.
I ordered food for Thanksgiving plenty early enough and the order never came customer service kept giving me the wrong information kept saying it was on its way but then after days still had not received a confirmation email saying it was shipped. Once they did a signer to FedEx number it was not a real FedEx number so when I called FedEx they sent that shipment did not exist. Call to follow up texted also in their chat system and they were nice at times that were completely unhelpful. Said it was Fedex's fault, even though for the first two days they couldn't even tell me if it had shipped out of their own warehouse for sure. We didn't have our Thanksgiving meal. I would be refunded and still have not seen the refund (almost $300)
I placed an on line order with Harry & David on Friday, Sept 28th, 2019. I have ordered from them in the past and most orders are processed and sent within a couple days. This order took 9 days to be received! By the time it arrived the Get Well message was stale! He was feeling much better and plus I am embarrassed beyond belief!
They are hard, tasteless, stale and full of preservatives. Clue is that they are not shipped with ice. Real truffles are made with fresh heavy cream and must be kept refrigerated and only last a few days. Any so-called truffles that can sit around at room temperature is not genuine and will be full of preservatives. When I receive these as gifts I just throw them away.
Please don't ever order from this company. A 2 hour wait time to speak to a representative on the phone is unacceptable. I tried to speak to someone for three days and have not been successful. Run away as fast as you can. On the star rating I don't see a negative star but that's what they deserve.

Yes, the customer service is still good. But why send out stale, inferior products? They used to NEVER do that. Everything was always VERY fresh. I ordered some Cinnabons ( EXPENSIVE!) for my sister. When she received them, most of them were stale and hard. This isn't the first time this has happened. I've ordered cookies, and other things for the holidays; and they didn't taste the same as in previous years. Seems like when all of these companies " merge" with others... the products become inferior. But the customer service was still the best. Wish I could say the same for everything else. Except the " Moose Munch."(It's still very good.)
I have ordered from H&D for years. I placed an order today even though they did not include offer codes with my catalougues as in the past. When I ordered several items a message came up that I would get free shipping by ordering $20. I went back and increased my order by that much. The site jumped forward and accepted and placed my order which included a substantial shipping cost. Their site does not allow cancelling or editing this entry. I called. 15 minutes on hold. I requested a call back. It never came. I Emailed them about this. No response. Now I find I could have ordered thru Amazon Prime with free shipping. Think I am done with them.
I wanted to send a just because gift basket but was side tracked because, ONLY at the end of the order did it indicate shipment was 2 weeks away. It was a huge ordeal to cancel and then to be transfered to a separte organization for the "passport shipping" department to be refunded on that.
Its an american company with customer service girls in the philippines who do not want to make waves for their employer and have you agree to terms you dont want like delievery dates two weeks out..
Please beware of what your paying. I went to place an order & called in because of wanting 2 seperate shipping addresses. While placing the order the customer service couldn't find the item number. I gave it to her then my page refreshed and a new price (more$$) came up. She transfered to to someone else & he said that's the price. So I didn't go threw with my second double order. I dont like to feel scammed...& something is not right when the price changes in the middle of placing the orders. Lost my future Holiday businesses
I started shopping with Hdavid because my company used them to mail Christmas presents to all the workers. The foods are so good I would just gobble everything straight away. You know this is great food when you can eat their fruit cake and find your self looking for more fruit cake 30 minutes later. So good! I have to say everything arrived fresh even in the biggest tower.
The fruit was firm and ripe. Each package of food stuff was more then I anticipated with much better quality then I have gotten from any other gift basket. When The box came we expected 80% packing material. It was almost solid ridiculously yummy and decadent treats! I cannot wait for my next good excuse to order again! Milk Chocolate Moose Munch is scarey good and package was big enough to share with my family of 5!
We ewceived the Harry & Davids breakfast muffin basket. Tried it...awful. I would never buy this for anyone and need to somehow let my folks know not to get me this again. I make my own breads and this stuff I'm sure was over-priced and not worth the shipping cost.
Wish I had looked at reviews before I ordered, would not have bought from them. Ordered a gift basket on 12/14/2021, it was getting late I'll grant you that. They confirmed my order and said it would arrive on or before 12/24/2021. No communication for a week. I finally e-mailed them. Now it was arriving 12/29/2021. It was a Christmas gift. I asked them why they didn't contact me if it was going to be late. Sent me back an e-mail saying they were sorry. So I sent them another e-mail saying that's all they had to say? They sent me the exact same e-mail the second time. They don't care about you anymore than the man in the moon. Worst company I ever dealt with. Will never order from them again, neither should you.
I ordered a Christmas cactus on Nov 23 with delivery to be Dec 4. I checked on Dec 4 and it had never been shipped. I called and they said it was sold out (yet they charged my credit card). They sent a "replacement plant" and assured me it would arrive on Dec 9. I checked on Dec 9 and it was never shipped either. This is FRAUD. I am having trouble reaching them... 2 hour wait time on phone. I would like a refund.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
