I will be filing better business bureau complaint and corporate complaint as well as leaving following review on as many sites as I can. I'm done trying to get any customer service from you!
They sent me 3 cheesecakes I couldn't eat any of them. Was supposed to be 2 day Express shipping to make sure freshness. First 2 took 5 days and they had melted and fell apart and were inedible. They asked me to pick different item so I picked chocolates, but they shipped a 3rd cheesecake instead. 3rd cheesecake still hasn't arrived after 4 days. They said they would refund money but I paid 62.00 for this with shipping and email they sent says they refunded 23.00. I still havent gotten any money so I'm out 62.00. Buyer beware!
My fiancee was so excited to receive a basket of Harry & David goodies for her Birthday. A few days later we found the pound cake included in the basket was moldy. Not sure if the covid-19 virus was at fault, but I'm certain that future gifts will not come from H&D.
Giving a 1 because there is no zero. Placed an online order on 12/14/2022. Was quoted a total price, which I wrote down. When I received my credit card statement, I was charged more than what I was originally quoted. Called customer service and the representative told me that he could see in his system that I was refunded the difference on 12/13/2022. How can the refund be before the purchase? Watch and review your credit card statements. I am sure I am not the only one Harry & David is scamming!
As a fruit of the month member I get a different fruit each month and the tiny little oranges that came today are horrible. They're not ripe, they're very difficult to peel and they taste terrible. I'm going to have trouble even trying to give these away.
For the second time about 3 years apart, received a Harry and David gift with a packet of so called premium mixed nuts that were very poor quality. Shrunken, broken, small cashews were the most noticable. No pecans, about 1/4 of one walnut half. The almonds were pretty good, but the rest were bird food scrap quality. Someone is failing miserably at quality control or they just don't give a damn or perhaps just like sending crappy nuts out at a premium price.
We received a gift package from Harry and David and to our disappointment, every single pear and apple was rotten. We called customer service and received another box (several weeks later) and every apple and pear was also rotten! So, I called customer service and ordered a third box, but this time I told them not to send me fruit! Even though I would never order from this company again, the customer service people were very polite and listened to my concerns.
We had guests for Thanksgiving dinner and I was very late to order turkeys! Thank God for Harry and David! I ordered a couple of turkeys from them and was hoping that they would not be disappointing! To my great surprise, they were MUCH better than I expected. Not only that the turkeys arrived on time, they were easy to warm up, and they were moist, tender, and really delicious! What a treat and a face saver!
I logged in 2 hours ago, I'm not the most internet savvy, but the Harry & David website is a total nightmare. I had trouble navigating the site even though I knew what I wanted, entered it into the search engine. Then I wanted to use the promo code, but I had to have a membership number to use promo code. Nothing said about that on their Home page or in the email they sent me. I tried to sign up for their Celebration Passport and that turned into a complete turd show. To add insult to injury, one is not allowed to delete their membership. Never again!
Need a refund asap. The basket that was sent looks like crap. Had to go total wine and get another $100 gift basket for a colleague. Awful Awful. Total wine basket on left hand side. Harry & David basket on the right hand side. Same price but what a difference. Need to ship H&D back asap.
My father bought me a gift basket for thanksgiving since we couldn't spend it together. The box was late. Came yesterday 11/29/22 but some of the fruit was rotten and the carmel in the glass was all broken. Unacceptable…. Told my dad to get his money back
I ordered a box of Riviera pears for myself and they arrived as hard as hockey pucks. I set them out at room temperature and waited for them to ripen, but instead--over THREE months's time--they went from rock-hard to rotten. I called H&D and they sent a replacement--which was just as bad--badly bruised pears with scratches on the skin like they had been used in a hockey game. Still... hopes springs eternal so I was anticipating that they would taste OK. Hard as rocks (again) at first, so I set them out to ripen. They never softened enough to be eaten, but finally turned to mush. Obviously had been picked WAY too early (which is good for shipping, I suppose.) I could have bought discounted, bruised pears at Aldi's for less money. I'm disappointed because the name H&D used to be synonymous with "quality". I will never order anything from H&D again. (I just wish you had a "no-star" rating that I could give this company.)
Like many others, we received our package with rotten pears. We contacted them, and they sent us another package. Cool. Then, we get the new package... rotten pears, again. While the rest of the box was fine, the quality of their pears HAS to be poor if two boxes have rotten pears.
My experience with H&D is wholly negative. Last year, they sent my multiple gifts to one recipient, instead of to the intended recipients. This year, I spent 30 minutes trying, unsuccessfully, to order via the website. I ended up calling, but the computer wouldn't pull up my gift list for the agent, so I had to reconstruct all of my several recipients. Unfortunately, my Christmas gifts were delivered in late November, despite specific instructions to deliver the week before Christmas. My Christmas gifts became Thanksgiving gifts, because of H&D's incompetence.
I received today, from H&D, a list of prior gift recipients charged to me. This included over $700 of fraudulent charges that I never ordered. Customer service has been dreadful in trying to pursue this.
Please avoid this HORRID company. I will await their response, or then report fraud and theft to the police.
Did not deliver on time. When called customer service, they assured that the gift would be delivered by the correct date, and it wasn't. Also, paid for and filled out a greeting card, so they would know who it was from and why, and there was no card!
I'll not use H&D again for any gift giving.
I ordered a Thanksgiving dinner for 4. The night before at 7PM I received an email from them. It stated that our delivery would be delayed. When I called, I was told the turkey would arrive Friday and the sides would be shipped in 2 weeks?
So we enjoyed ham sandwiches and macaroni salad. We made the most of the day.
They supposedly will refund the money (fingers crossed). But would not recommend them
Ordered 2 baskets to be delivered for Christmas, and was charged $42 shipping. No indication of shipping time while I was ordering. Received my confirmation email saying they would deliver by March 8,2023 (3 months later)! I called and spent 30 minutes on the phone with someone who said she changed the date to Dec 20th and charged me an additional $11.99 per basket for "priority delivery" on the 20th. This did not happen. Called again on Dec 20th and no changes had been made to my order AT ALL and I had to pay again for faster delivery. Now supposedly will be delivered on the 23rd. I will NEVER use this company again.
I ordered a product on the Black Friday Sale. The order went through. Then I received an email that cancelled my order, but stated, "As a replacement you have to select another item on the website of Harry and David that ranges [the price of the item]". No refund was offered. What? So, I called, and was offered numerous items that were not the same, and were not on sale. It took their representative a long time before they would actually issue a refund. The item remains on their site for purchase at the price I paid. Wow. It used to be a decent Company. Run away. Horrid experience.
Damaged wooden box, fruit bruised and black. It's very hard to get the centerpiece out of this box without pulling it apart. I saw fruit this bruised and small and black on it in the pproduce at our local food city. I did not buy it!This was a gift for my mother-in-law. I prefer to talk to you than my mother-in-law. I don't want her to feel bad. We have received and given your gifts for over 30 years this is the first time it went wrong. We assume you will make this right.
Title says it all. I will never buy another thing from them. I have since tried to unsubscribe from their mailing list SIX TIMES and they never take me off their list. Every email just@#$$%@ me off worse, so now I will leave a bad review each time they continue to spam me.
I placed an order and the money was taken from my account at that time. Three days later it was taken out two additional times within 12 minutes of each other. Yes, it was removed from my account, an additional $200. I called the number attached to the order in my bank records. She kept telling me that it wasn't taken out, they were just checking... how many times do you have to "check". I told her it's reflected in my balance that it as taken out. I will not use this company again. This is not a credible action on their part! I feel terrible for those who may not have that kind of money to be tied up!

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
