We loved receiving H&D fruit at he holidays, but this year we received a H&D Triple Treat package and were disappointed. The apples we received had inedible skin, so tough they cut our gums. And truthfully the apples tasted old, mealy and just not good. Uck. Have not tried the pears or the oranges yet, but our expectations are much reduced. Sad.The pears come with an explanation of the wind damage the pears endured and that is fine with us. We don't care about appearance; we care about taste. H&D fruit was one of the joys of the Christmas season.
I won't ever be ordering from Harry and David again. It's been one big disappointment from the very beginning. To start off, I never got an email of shipping confirmation on one of my items. Then when I tried calling to check status of shipping, I was put on hold with a wait time of 35 minutes. So they ask if you'd like to leave your number and have the option not to hold and they will call you back and you won't lose your place in line - well I did that... and guess what? I never got a call back. That was a week ago. Then one of the items that I ordered was delivered and it was a spruce tree with lights and there was no battery for the lights. My gift recipient had to go out and buy batteries so that the lights would come on on the tree. The battery should have been included as I ordered the same item for another person and their battery was included. I'm just not impressed with Harry and David at all! I'll take my business somewhere else in the future.
Epic fail.
I placed my order for an Xmas dinner for 12 to be delivered Dec 23rd. They call me Dec 23 (today) to tell me that there are delays and it won't come until Dec 28! They offered no option or alternative and didn't even really seem to care or be that concerned that I have 12 people coming to my house and nothing to feed them. I have spent the last 3 hours trying to price together a plan B in the busiest grocery shopping day of the year.
There are no words for how fuming I am and disgusted by how this has been handled.
I will never order from this company again.
The gifts I ordered were SIX days late. The pears are all bruised and inedible. Harry and David, always known for great service and quality product, is not Harry and David anymore. The service and quality have dipped and they outsource the customer service phones to South Africa or someplace where it's hard to understand their speech. Harry and David as we knew it is no more!
I have used Harry and David for Christmas fruits for many years with excellent recipient satisfaction. For the past several years, however, the quality of the pears has steadily declined. Last year about a third of my gifts arrived rotten. This year the pears are small, irregularly shaped with many brown spots. Next year I will try someone else.
Ordered a wine and cheese basket for my sister's birthday on Tuesday. With 2 day shipping, it'll be there a day late. Or so I thought. Tried to check online order status and kept getting " We'll e-mail you when it ships". Finally, Sunday (5 days later) I called and the very nice rep checked and told me the order was on hold because one item (wine) was on backorder. The scheduled ship date is now January 1,2050. THIRTY YEARS from now. I cancelled the order. You would think if an item is on backorder (for 30 years?), they would not let the order go through. I'll never order from them again.
Because I've used Harry & David's hundreds of times in the past for work, I was initially excited to order their Thanksgiving Feast online...and that is where the excitement ended. I paid an extra fee to have the order delivered...not only was the package not delivered on time, the customer service representative spent more time trying to upsell me and putting me on hold. Super disappointed in the quality of food, packaging and for the cost just really expected them to have higher standards on what they delivered.
I've been using Moose Munch caramel flavored coffee beans for years. Received a new order a few days ago after waiting over a month. What has happened? The beans no longer have the great caramel smell nor does the coffee taste the same. Why screw with a good thing?
Thanksgiving meal never got delivered, asked for a refund twice waiting hours on the phone each time and customer service rep lied to me and I never got my refund for my Thanksgiving meal. What a waste of money and time. How can a company be so unreliable and straight up dishonest. Stay away from Harry and David at all cost
Expected at least a full size summer sausage and a lot more there for 60 bucks! Are u kidding me? I can get a 16 oz summer sausage for under 4 bucks at Aldi! Waste of money. In the picture the top summer sausage is from Aldi.
The cake was exactly as I expected! Even arrived a day early. I live in California and I know it ships from Oregon. I wonder if that impacted the excellence of my order?
I was hesitant after reading all of the reviews but I will absolutely order again. Harry and David continues their amazing products. From coffee, to chocolate, to now cakes, Harry and David is my to go to place!
I received my cheese order in a shipping box not as in gift wrapped box. The presentation was terrible. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift.
I paid 4 pieces of cheese for $49.99. It is overpriced. I would have gone to Trader Joe's and got my cheese.
We can overlook an order being late but to totally lose an order and have no record of it ever being placed is unforgiveable. Harry and David need to improve record keeping. H and D did not even offer to send a pear for their lousy service. One star is one star too many.
My wife and kids got me a box of pears for Fathers day because i love a good pear. It has been over 11 days and the pears are still hard as a rock. They are not ripening. They are just rotting. Terrible waste of money
A friend of mine sent me a lovely box for a get well present. Everything came in a wooden box which contained cheese, crackers, nuts, sauces, two apples and then the bottom of the box had pears. There were several pears and ALL of them were greatly damaged. We inspected each one, but there was no saving them. They were extremely bruised and had turned black and were mushy. Not very appetizing! Of course, I did not want to tell my friends about this, so I am telling you. I know they spent good money to send such a lovely gift and would be very upset if they knew what had happened. I just think you should be aware of the problem and maybe there is a better way to package them or maybe they are too delicate to ship from the West Coast to the East Coast in the hot summertime.

Placed an order for a sympathy basket on 6.18 for a death in the family. Total cost after shipping was $103 and some change. The delivery area is a bit remote so a few days would be understandable. 3 days later I'm still not seeing a shipping number - call customer service who states, they have until the 28th to deliver the basket... Wait that is 10 days, I need it to be there much sooner - customer service says Oh I'm sorry we can't make any changes to the order at this time - after 10 minutes of arguing I'm told the shipping label was made and it could ship any day - It is out for delivery now on the 28th. What good is a sympathy basket 10 days after the funeral.
My friend sends us a number of gift boxes per year. One of the boxes was bad and tried calling customer service. Very polite but she claimed that there was nothing they could do because it had to be the sender (gifter) to call them. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever for a gifting company. Must be doing that on purpose so they don't have to replace bad orders.
Their customer service used to be so much better... especially for a premium company.
The fruit basket I ordered was suppose to have lots of fruit plus two seasonal fruits.only 12 pieces and no seasonal.For what I payed it was not worth it at all very here's a picture of what I thought I was getting
So I ordered something for a friend who recently got covid. I have a pending charge for almost $200 and nobody can explain why! I called and of course they have no record of it. The basket is supposed to be deliver today so we'll see how that goes.
This was a spur of the moment surprise purchase and I'm upset nobody can explain the pending charge. Customer service reps were friendly.
Lesson learned. Read the reviews before ordering from a new place.

I have been using Harry & David's for quite some time now. And I'll have to say that I've never had a complaint with them before. But of course, on mother's day it finally happened. I ordered from Harry & David's for my mom. I even paid for the extra charge to get it there on "guaranteed time". I got the delivery time for 56th. Didn't make it. I called and they said they were very sorry for that and gave me a refund for the extra charge for the guaranteed time. I was told that could comfortably know it would for sure be thereon mother's day. We'll, it's now the day after mother's day and still no gift. I'm so embarrassed because I kept telling my mom that not to worry. I promise it'll be there soon. I'm praying I'll be right. But if I'm wrong I sure hope they will stand by their satisfaction guarantee. Oh boy!

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
