I ordered a box of pears from Harry & David to be sent to my mother for her birthday. The box when received contained a note regarding this year's drought. The fruit were smaller than usual and blemished with black spots, still delicious though. My mother messaged me a thank you and included the condition of the fruit, the note about the drought and hopefully I got a discount. I reached out to Harry and David by email just to let them know about the situation. I even sent them my mother's message to me and advised them that it would have been nice to know of the drought situation during the time of the order. Not only did I receive an apology but a full refund including the additional rush shipping charge and 20% off my next order. Harry & David will always be my go to company for any mail order fruit or gift ideas. Thank you Harry & David!
I ordered a basket for $150.00
I got a message saying that they were out of stock on some of the items so they substituted. I asked my relative to talk a picture of what was delivered and it was not what I ordered. Don't order from this company. 1 800 flowers owns them and they are the worst flower company. Just call a local florist near to where you want flowers delivered to and they will do that.
I ordered three of "The Big Book of Christmas Cookies" and was overcharged. The price in the catalog is $34.99 and I was charged $39.99 for each item. I spent over an hour with the agent on the phone trying to explain the discrepancy, but to no avail.
I ordered fruit for my granddaughters birthday 2 weeks ahead of time. The order was not shipped until the day before the delivery was promised. Delivery will come 3 days after her birthday. I called and got the run around. Worst company ever!
There was no tomato juice, but when I asked for water for the walk they gave it to me for free. The staff was spontaneous - two different officers came and asked whether the entire order is complete and felt the answer "no" and did not do anything else. Until I told them about another passion. Overall, it was fine.
I used to buy the Christmas blend coffee. What have you done to it? My daughter was so excited to find it on Amazon as there no longer is a store in Minnesota. She bought me 2 bags. What a waste of money! There is no flavor but YUCKY. I want the old Christmas blend back, not this rubbish.
Ordered a specific meat and cheese basket for a Christmas delivery. Item was available and order approved with a note about possible slower shipping times. Was then supposed to be delivered 12/27, then 12/29. On 12/29, tracking information became unavailable. I called Harry and David on 12/30, who asked if I had received an email to call them. I had not, although I received plenty of requests to buy more product from them. I was told that the item was out of stock and would be available in February. I asked why the item had been oversold and did not get any answer. I was asked if I wanted my Christmas item delivered then. No! Horrible customer service and follow through from the company.
I emailed customer service to ask about the ingredients of their Truffles so I could make sure a family member could eat them (two allergies) and they emailed me back that day. I ordered them for Mothers Day only a week in advance, but they were as good as their word. The items that I chose said they would be delivered by Mothers Day and they were, with a day to spare. I'm so glad they take the time to mark the date items will arrive when you are checking out. That makes all the difference.
Oh yeah, Mom LOVED the truffles.
On November 15,2022, I ordered three boxes of fruit for my son and his family. At that time my complete order was paid for. Apples and pears went out but the oranges did not. Twice they have called me to 'complete' my order. I've given them the info that the oranges were paid in full on November 16. First time they said okay the oranges are in a truck going to the airport. Next week they call again and want payment, I go through the whole thing again and they tell me I didn't order in time for the more expensive oranges and they will have to substitute. What? Six weeks and no oranges and NO APOLOGY! This was part of their Christmas gift!
I spent two days trying to place an order. Chat was no help. I called customer service, which also was no help. I finally gave up. Never again! I won't waste my time. Not sure what the problem was but they are really having problems!
Right after making my first order to Harry and David, I was bombarded with email ads from food-related businesses. I called Harry and David. Their representative said they would get it stopped. Six months later, and though the ads have diminished I still get them regularly, and just got two more.
I cancelled an order because wait time was 3 months. I was owed 72.00 and I contacted them 7 times with the same response. Basically you will get refund when it's convenient for us to give you refund. It's been weeks and no refund given. Sorry $#*! people..
To begin with these baskets are not cheap, but they promise delivery dates. For the 2nd time in two years they have blown the delivery date by 8 days, which missed both Holidays. I will not ever order from them again.
We ordered a gift basket for fathers day. Every day, the update stated that it was on its way and indeed, it never came. Fathers day came and went. When we reached out the company, they barely offered an apology and refused to send a product or compensate in some way for their mistake. I would never order from them again.
I have been trying to place a $$$ corporate order for several weeks now. Emails & phone calls not returned, or dropped, transferred to no one. The WORST customer service I've ever experienced. TERRIBLE! How are they even in business anymore?
We recently lost a loved one so my daughter's employer sent a sympathy basket. The food was horrific -- I mean all of it. Candy; crackers; sausages; sesame sticks; cheese, salsa, baklava. I've tasted better items purchased at a 99 Cent store. Truly appreciated the gesture, but I'd never send any of your baskets to anyone I know based solely on this disaster.
What a bad company... at one time they actually had both good product and great service, now its really poor... I mean POOR, I would spend over $1000 every year with this company, but i am done. They can't get an order right and when you call to figure out what's going on, no one can help you... ALl they say is sorry, ok? Thats it. Fine another option, I will starting today they will not get another penny of mine. Pluse I'll let everyone know how bad they are.
This review covers ALL of Harry & David, not just Los Angeles. Never have I experienced such poor customer service. This was the second and final attempt to send a gift basket through this company. Not only did it not arrive on time despite my paying $20 extra to make sure of this, it never arrived at all and is lost in transit, so you can imagine the humiliation not to send an anniversary gift to my son and his wife on their 3rd anniversary. Extremely low grade customer service and I will inform those around me NEVER to use Harry & David again. Plus it was very expensive and unlike most companies, they charge for shipping. When I called customer service they ended up refunding this exorbitant price, but I was left without a gift and nothing to send.
Each one loves getting presents. Especially surprise birthday gift baskets filled with gourmet treats delivered directly to their door. I have ordered a cake from this online site to give surprise for my sister but the cake I ordered from them not received on time and they delivered next day of her birthday. I trust this service and not ordered any other cake; I lose a chance to surprise my sis only because of their delay in delivering.
We get boxes of Harry and David overpriced pears that never ripen every Christmas from someone who will remain unidentified, and toss them after a few weeks because they never ripen. What a ripoff! How this company stays in business is beyond understanding.
Answer: I'll be going to other companies NOW. Business LOST.
Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.
Answer: I wasn't able to order products because of the quality of their customer service representatives.
Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
