The pears were small with brown spots all over them. It was very.disappointing as it was.sent to me as a hostess gift. I know my family member would be very disappointed in this product.
I placed 3 orders prior to Thanksgiving, for delivery in December for Christmas.
2 orders were delivered, but I keep getting emails telling me that my choice will not arrive as scheduled and when I pick a replacement, no one acknowledges my change of selection to insure prompt arrival? Hold times on the phone are 3 hours long! I will NEVER use them again! BTW, I have used them in years in the past with no problems, but this year is a joke!
My gift was not sent out to my recipient.They sent an apology letter to them and told me that the gift would be reshipped Well, it never was. It was a completely tacky and terrible experience. Hold times are over two hours.I don't know what's happened to this company, but they've gone down the tubes significantly. Save yourself, hassle and disappointment, Do not order from them!
Never again will I order from Harry & David! They took my order & money for items that were unavailable and have lied to me for 10 days. Can't provide a confirmation of refund, no accountability for all of their lying customer no service representatives, and refuse to make this right.

Absolutely terrible experience. We placed a $2,500 order 3 weeks in advance, paid for guaranteed delivery this Tuesday - and none of the packages but 2 showed up - both sent to the wrong address. The other 21 packages never shipped. My co-worker has spent a combined 6 hours on hold at this point trying to talk to a human, when someone finally picked up the phone yesterday (from a call center in India), the call disconnected after less than 3 minutes, after she'd waited on hold for over 3 hours. The same thing happened just now.
Harry and David cleared a profit of 1.43 BILLION dollars last year, but they can't competently staff a call center with people who speak English "if you're not delighted!". Spoiler alert - we're nowhere near "delighted", Harry and David. We are appalled at what is clearly unbridled corporate greed for your CEOs, while you pay pennies on the dollar for a call center in another country because you're too cheap to pay American workers. Disgusting.

It's now 2 days past when our 23 boxes should have arrived, and the other 21 have not shipped, and we can't get anyone on the phone. This company is just stealing from people at this point.
Honestly, this is the worst vendor I've ever used. I've wasted hours this year trying to get a simple $600 order to go through. Their customer service team is poorly trained and in countless ways they've messed up my order this year. I've had issues in the past too. If you want to spend $600 with a vendor only to have to spend countless hours following up with them when the order is not processed properly (and having to wait 1+ hours each time waiting on the phone or chat) only to have them keep messing up the order then Harry & David is the vendor of choice for your holiday gift giving. I'll never work with them again.
They have the worst customer service They messed up my order multiple times and it's impossible to reach anyone. Find another company to order from if you can. I work in customer service, and they really are one of the worst companies to deal with. Extremely incompetent!
They used to be good, very good- good product and good delivery. The past year they suck. They can't get the right order out or an order out in time. So DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU WANT YOUR GIFT TO ARRIVE IN TIME.
One order was lost in Limbo for 2 months. Then sent a replacement which was cheaper and nothing like I ordered. The second order not delivered.
Time to shut this 1-800-Flowers site down and rebrand or get better logistics and better customer service service
Oh- customer service. Forget customer service. They don't respond to live chat and when you do get a person, they really don't understand what you're saying. Very frustrating.

I ordered two packages: one was a Thanksgiving dinner, and the other was a dessert package (chocolate-covered strawberries, cupcakes, cookies, and wine). Both packages were set up for signature required, which wouldn't have been a problem since they could have been signed for at the address I provided, where adults with proper identification were available if that was an issue.
However, Harry & David made the decision to ship the dessert package with alcohol to a FedEx holding facility instead, as if the person who ordered it was a child. This was completely unnecessary and really annoying. The Thanksgiving dinner was delivered to my address, so why not the dessert?
I contacted FedEx, but they immediately redirected me to Harry & David. When I reached out to Harry & David, I was initially told the package was still in transit. After pointing out that it had already been sent to the FedEx facility, I was informed it was due to a wine compliance issue in my state and was given another number to call.
Here's the problem: if there's a wine compliance issue in my state, why are you accepting orders from customers in that state in the first place? It makes no sense. This experience has been extremely frustrating. My solution: I am gonna have to have it shipped back to sender and await then to give me a refund. Not a huge issue, but a huge annoyance.
Worst company ever when it comes to customer service
I put in an order and noticed that they mentioned a deliver date on the 20th Nov. I called them up to have it changed to the 12th Nov.
The rep said it was good and it showed up online as that
12th Nov came and past but no delivery. So I called up on the 13th. I was then told there was no way they could deliver it until 21st of Nov.
Given the people I was gifting it to will be gone I cancelled it and asked to make sure that the refund included a gift card that I have used for the transaction
5 days later I received notification from my bank and of course the only thing refunded was without the gift card sum

My broker sent me a gorgeous fruit and nut arrangement. Unfortunately I didn't know it was coming, was out of town and it sat in 90 degree heat for 10 days. I contacted the company to ask if it was okay to eat. They did not answer, but said they would send a replacement. That was August 29,2024. The replacement NEVER arrived and all kinds of different people have assured me via Facebook messenger 5 DIFFERENT TIMES OVER 2 1/2 MONTHS that it has been ordered and rest assured there is a slight delay, and just reach out for us if you need anything else. And then they say that "this is not the kind of service we pride ourselves in providing." You cannot reach them by phone or by e-mail. They are clearly unethical and not to be trusted.
Couldn't understand the customer service rep. She didn't listen to me. My order was refunded to my bank account. I asked why. Couldn't give me answer. I will not recommend them to anyone else. There are many companies that do the same thing. I asked for a supervisor and they couldn't give me one either.

I placed an order for over $600, then spent the next 2 days trying to clarify delivery dates and items purchased. They have NO customer Service - the people do not understand you, they don't know the product and are unable to answer the simplest question - plus the background noise was deafening - must be 20 people in a closet. My last trip to Harry & David was today - ever!
This was my first time using this company and it will certainly be my last, I used them to send a gift basket for a milestone birthday, paid extra for shipping which they failed to deliver, I had them enclose a birthday card with a message and instead they just sent the card with no message the recipient had to call to find out who sent it,which was embarrassing, they told me they would refund my card of the delivery charges and I'm still waiting it has been two weeks.

Changing, cancelling, rescheduling, loosing info in system and finally delivering something that you never would choose!. Horrible! Don't even try to do any business with Harry and David. It is not the same company what use to be a few years ago!
I bought fruit and cheese of the month club for my mom. I paid in full last December 2023. She didn't get her July or August delivery. I contacted harry and david through their chat feature (which oddly takes HOURS to converse with someone) and was promised replacement deliveries by today. I was told I would receive email confirmation of the replacements. I never got an email and they didn't come. I called and waited on hold for an hour and a half, opting to stay on the call instead of receiving a call back (it felt like a thousand times i had to select "2" to stay on the call) before I finally opted for the call back option. No one called me back. I am on chat again. The new person can't see my original chat. I've had to re-explain everything. They can't help me. They are saying their request for a refund for half of the year isn't going through. They said a manager would call me. I can't talk during my work day. I said I don't want to talk to anyone, this is simple, I didn't get July or August - credit me those months, credit the rest. Simple. No conversations need to be had. I've wasted an unbelievable amount of time on something I've already paid for, already. This is sad. Whatever changes they made has ruined their delivery standards and customer service. The trust is gone.
My order never arrived. I paid 150 $ for a gift basket that never arrived. Three days after the arriving dat I received a call telling me that the item was sold out!

Products are ok, but about half of my transactions with this company had unusually random problems crop up (all on their end), which then require human contact via phone or chat. I realize that I'm half of the language barrier, but it's happened so many times now I've seen a solid pattern of polite apologies alternated with intentionally not understanding or responding to whatever the issue may be. They'll keep you going as long as possible, even for hours, until you give up in frustration. It makes zero sense for a legit business to run this way, it almost feels like there's something else going on.
I ordered a fruit box along with a cheesecake for a 95th birthday. The cheesecake came separately, and the fruit box has still not been delivered as the shipment says separate deliveries. One week later is not acceptable.I was embarassed asking if the recipient got the fruit as well. For a well known brand, this should not happen.
Harry and David had no problem dinging credit card Feb. 24th, and not shipping until March 8th. They shipped March 8th because we called them March 8th demanding to know where gift to ill patient was. I didn't know I was waiting for Harry and David to plant the trees and wait for harvest.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
