So disappointed with this company & should've known when I saw you've attached to poor quality of list like "Celebrations Passport". We stopped using companies on this site after seeing the cheap products & packaging they sent. But H & D had a history of quality...
Today I meant to send one of my friends a special gift & instead saw the disappointing photo of what she received from H & D!
Instead of the nice Harry & David quality, I now see what looks like cheap grocery store plastic boxes of treats my friend received from me at a hefty price!
So shameful!
First and last time I will be ordering from Harry & David! I ordered the Chocolate Decadence Cake. I can't comment on how it tastes but it's literally half the the size that was shown in the website photo! Was going to serve this as a dessert for Christmas but clearly will have to make something else. Disappointing to say the least! Always thought this was a reputable company.
I just wanted to put my experience with Harry & David out there. I ordered a very expensive food item that was opened in the cooler prior to arrival and therefore ruined. I needed it for our Christmas dinner and emailed them right away. I provided them with photos of the damage in my email and they completely rectified the situation by sending an email saying they would replace it in time for Christmas dinner. True to their word, I received it on Christmas Eve. I truly appreciated their customer service and willingness to make it right, especially with a time sensitive situation.
I ordered cookies, mandarins, pears and cheese, and honey-bells. Shipping was split up, I was charged for each shipment, delivery dates did not reflect same date when purchased. Called the call center (is overseas), they were rude, made excuses and gave no reason for delay and no helpful assistance - one agent actually told my 'fruit was out of season!' When I made the order I made sure to check that it was available for shipment as it states that underneath the product! I escalate to corporate and again excuses, excuses, excuses. I had issues a few years back and thought I would give Harry & David another try - no improvement in customer service, customer satisfaction or on time deliveries. Big mistake - definitely find another supplier that cares about the quality of service and is appreciative of your business - it is definitely not Harry and David!
Our company ordered 3 wine gift boxes on 11/10. This should have arrived on 11/21. What we actually was 1 gift box. We contacted the company to request our other 2 boxes. We spoke to a lady that did not speak clear English so It did not sound like she understood what we needed, We were put on hold several times in a hour long period, waiting for a manager to speak with us, the same lady kept picking up and telling us she was talking to her supervisor, that we asked to speak to? That was a week ago, we have still not spoken to a manager nor received our other 2 gift boxes. We tried calling in again, just to be hung up on twice by customer service. We received an email with tracking saying that our order has delivered and that there was nothing more this company can help with, but yet nothing was resolved, we do not have what we ordered and no one will help. Overall very poor customer service!
Sent a $118 sympathy gift basket to a dear friend, it was carelessly delivered in the grass instead of the porch and became ant infested. I spent 30 min. On the phone with customer service and was told another would be delivered in 4 days, it never arrived. I requested a refund and was told that I would be getting one but that never happened either, until I filed a dispute with PayPal. Embarrassing and frustrating experience, save your time and money and avoid this company, they used to be good but have really lost all business ethic.
Shipped to wrong address, pears were black and bruised, not reimbursed on account, and recipient not reimbursed for pears as promised. Customer service not efficient or professional. They hang up while you are speaking. Years ago, great company. Nowadays, not worth the effort.
We received a large pear, apples and cheese box. When we opened it the pears were all covered in black bruises. They looked like they had been in the box for a week. So I did not want to eat the cheese not knowing how long it had gone with out the fridge. I called the company to let them know and they wanted the number and info of who sent us the box. I did not want my dear friends to feel bad for sending rotten fruit. But that was the way they took care of it. Very disappointing.
I've been ordering from them for a couple of years for family out-of-date, thinking they were getting these awesome baskets and towers. I purchased one for my son's graduation and got to see in person what he actually received. This is what he got for $75.00.
Years ago I had fond memories of receiving Harry & David packages for Christmas, and the quality of their pears and apples were noteworthy. No more. My children kindly gave me two Harry and David packages for Christmas 2019. They trusted in the quality of the name. The pears arrived bruised and mottled. The apples were old, soft and starting to decay. Where did the quality control go? They looked like damaged fruit our supermarket would give away for free. Sadly Harry & David is resting on its past reputation.
My dad died in December & a couple of friends ordered me a basket in December 3 weeks ago. I just received the box on Sunday January 7. Upon opening the box the fruit was spoiled and leaky. Unacceptable! I called and tried to rectify the situation myself to avoid the sender from being embarrassed for the epic fail of Harry & David while doing a nice gesture. Unfortunately, they already knew the outcome and were given a full refund. I ended up trashing the entire box due to its spoiled oozing fruit and appearance of looking as if it went through war. Do Better Harry & David! You guys use to be so awesome. ~O. Damón

We ordered a Fine Meat subscription for my dad in December that never arrived. I called in January and was told it was an oversight and would be shipped immediately. I've now been charged $129.97 twice with zero delivery to my dad and a February date for the next payment. Customer service was terrible, refused to reimburse me while admitting that no merchandise had ever been received. My bank is now disputing the charges. I really expected more from Harry & David.
Harry & David advertise "available to ship now", then you place the order and find out the following week that they haven't shipped your sympathy item and it won't arrive for two weeks.
It's not acceptable from a human standpoint, a customer standpoint or a business model standpoint.
Items that are marked as "available to ship now" should not be shipped weeks later.
It's false advertising, its embarrassing for customers, and it's downright wrong.
I read a lot of the negative reviews. The smashed box or the rotten apple.
Some of that... in fact most of that is probably related to the shipping (which fed ex is horrible).
I assure you... when you call customer service (not just write them a letter) they will fix anything immediately.
Their customer service is top notch.
Everyone has negative things to say about everything.
If you are not satisfied, they will make it right. They took care of my problem with a delivery deadline immediately, even though it was fed ex's problem.
I didn't have to write a second review, but don't be passive and then complain. They WILL make it right. They have for me. I would recommend them for everyone and every birthday cake from here on out will be from them. Every gift basket will be from them. I am their number one fan.
I went to see my sister and brother that I haven't seen in 5 years. I brought them truffles. They melted in our mouths.
I ordered a birthday gift Box that cost me about $50-$55 March of 2021 and it arrived later then it said & cake looked messed up! It just wasn't what was expected,. Quality didn't match picture or price.
I ordered a "White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle 7-inch cheesecake" to be delivered for Thanksgiving dessert for $79.99 plus $20.99 shipping. What I received, the day before Thanksgiving, was a dozen ham croissants. This was my first, and last, order from Harry and David. I have seen their catalogs often and everything appears extravagant and desirable for the premium prices they ask.
If you are going to promote and maintain your company based upon excellence and quality, its easy to tell when its all falling apart. Good luck in today's competition. This isn't how you make new customers into lifelong customers.
Now I have to go and buy a frozen pie from my local grocery, as I should have done in the first place.
Such a simple shipment to botch and at a key time of the year. Beside myself with anger and disappointment.
Harry $ David fail to deliver our Thanksgiving meal although I had paid an additional fee for faster delivery. They ruin our family meal and on top they informed me that my refund would take 5 to 7 days. This after spending hours talking to costumer service agents in several countries some of which didn't even speak English. It took hours to talk to someone in the US and even then you could hear their children playing in the background. One of the most unreliable and unprofessional companies I ever did business with.
I paid extra for next day shipping,. 3 days later, package still not given to fedex.
No customer service on the holiday, and no gift from Santa to my grandson.
Website says 'deliver as scheduled by any effective means'
False advertising! Where's the package?
Our gift my daughter and her husband ordered was going to be late arriving and would not make it by Christmas. Harry & David sent us cookies and pears so we would have something by Christmas, I don't know of any other company that would have done that, great customer service. I will use the from now on.
Thanks again, Mom and Dad Oldham.
Have tried H&D several times because the products look/seem good, but they fail routinely and sometimes in spectacular fashion (e.g., failing to ship a Christmas gift and not notifying me until the day before scheduled delivery). Moreover, when they do fail - which appears to be the usual case - there is no evidence of embarrassment or concern on the part of the company representatives; rather, they make claims about their success rate! To make matters worse, when they fail, they are then persistent in pushing the buyer to pick an alternative product (why would anyone do that?) rather than provide a refund. Clearly a company with a terrible culture and absolutely no misgivings about their business model.
Answer: I'll be going to other companies NOW. Business LOST.
Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.
Answer: I wasn't able to order products because of the quality of their customer service representatives.
Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
