Groupon only works when everything goes right and the business company or person selling the vouchers are honest, which is obviously not always the case! In fact, Groupon offers a perfect avenue for bogus offers, since customers pay upfront. And just try to get your money back! Near on impossible, considering they strike you off their system and your emails requesting the refund bounce back. Totally flawed and predatory business model! No customer protection whatsoever. I regret being so naïve as to believe that I was getting good deals. Never mind paying upfront and getting a below standard service for your money (which also happened to me), but the worst is to never get the service and realised that it would have been much cheaper, convenient and hassle free to pay full price for it.
Ordered a product and never showed up. States was delivered by UPS, told to look around in bushes and ask neighbors. I have a security camera on front door. There was no delivery! Groupon doesnt care, will not refund, respond.
Groupon is a complete SCAM! Do not give these people your money under any circumstances. I've used them a couple times for some local deals in my area but two months ago I purchased two separate meal deals for a restaurant. It turned out that the place did not accept the Groupons! They came up with an excuse that they were under new management. I have spent a month trying to get a refund from these people but to no avail. Now I'm out $100! I don't know how these criminals are able to continue robbing people like this. I'm currently seeking legal action. Good luck to everyone else who has been robbed by Groupon. Spread the word!
So I received my MP3 player. Did not work at all. Tried to return it, but the website says "overloaded at the moment" (it has been like this all day!). There is no one to contact or chat to or email to... a big wall!

Bought $300 tickets from the San Diego Zoo Safari for family birthdays, but was never given the vouchers. I couldn't get a hold of anyone on the weekend. I tried getting through to them the following week, and I spoke with around 8 customer service agents, two of which hung up on me and one stopped typing on the app chat and ignored me for 35 minutes before I finally logged off. Just give me my tickets or give me a refund, but don't do this round-about business when I have spent so much money. I will never buy from them again and I love online shopping and deals, it's unfortunate that we cannot trust these companies that promise great service. This isn't a rant, this is facts - they are unprofessional and shady. I don't recommend that anyone shop here.
Dealt with 3 people none of which knew what they were doing. After one hour and fourth five minutes finally got to a supervisor, not only was she not friendly she refused to help me as a customer. Now I work in retail and there is always a way to help the customer and she did everything in her power to work against me. So people if you ever want to get a Groupon strongly think about the problems that surrounds it. They have no customer skills or care for doing right by customer if I could give a negative rating I would. Will never use site again couldn't even enjoy my dinner due to pure lack of intelligence on the so called "customer support team" what a joke support

I have been chasing them since 14th Jul'14, called them 50 times, sent mails, no response. On phone they say your call important but get s disconnected after 2.14 sec. I was promised 3 times seniors will call but no call till date.

Sometimes its amazing and other times its a hassle. I was a lover of Groupon but recently there have been some difficulties redeeming the Groupons. I know they offer trade in when one don't work but you have contact customer service via chat which takes time. I'm starting to lose confidence!
Would neither extend the deadline nor reimburse me when a groupon expired during coronavirus. Not to mention the bar was closed by Cuomo during this time. HORRIBLE company. Takes advantage of their customers.
This item was billed as a "down alternative" comforter set. They had the original price at $200 but was marked down $36 99. There is nothing down-like about this comforter. It is a polyester piece of junk that was not worth even the 37 bucks that I paid. I will not buy a Groupon good again.
Is there a zero or less star? 3 days of Chat communications. And still nothing is being done! Charged credit card twice for ONE item! Recv'd only 1 order confirmation from Groupon. They send you customer service phone numbers that don't even exist. This company is a scam. The same thing happened to me a few years ago. And I thought they would come clean! One ignorant rep even said they can't offer refunds after 3 days! Well, who would know until a statement arrives they made these extra charges! Any company that has 4-6 different customer service numbers and NONE are "no longer in service" is a big RED FLAG! Every chat rep stated my case 'has been escalated to a specialization team" and i would receive a call back. That was 2 days ago. And still nothing!
Bought an iphone then three days later i received an email: sorry, we're out of stock... you'll get a refund (that was before mother's day)... they kept me waiting and then refunded the money not in full... can you believe that? Why!? They told me may be it's currency conversion coz it was gonna be shipped from the US (i bought it at groupn Canada)... to make things short: they screwed my mother's day gift and ripped me off... now I'd rather pay more elsewhere than deal with Groupon
Never use this site. As an information security professional I can see so many loopholes in the website it makes me cringe.
I had one moment of weakness and bought something and fell foul of the accidental double click - duplicate order. A good website should not allow this to happen.
Did support help - no told me to send the stuff back which would have cost to me.
Websites should not be allowed to work with dodgy front end web pages and PCI/ISO******* guidance should stop them from misusing your data and allowing double clicking/duplicate orders. It's just laziness that stops them from fixing this, it would have a small development cost for a big effect for the customer.
So simply put - if you value security on your transaction - don't use this site.

Worst experience ever on groupon.com. I ordered my mother in law a watch which nevr got received its going on three weeks now still no watch they could car a less don't buy from this shameful disgraceful site beware customer they don't care at all about their mess up not only that i brought my mom a perfume set which the perfume came empty for mothers day. I called group on they telling me they have to investigate. They need to investigate having people with common sense that if something glass wrap it properly so it doesn't break or spill out. They need to investigate hoes to treat their customers instead of being money hungry idiots.!
Have been buying different variety of merchandise from them since past 2 years. Just recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 which arrived almost after one month. Upon unboxing, it was observed there were two scratches and one dent on the side panels of the phone. The phone battery could not hold charge for more than 4 to 5 hours as would deplete completely by then after a full charge. Called and spoke to Groupon Customer service who apologized and said they'll have someone look into this right away and get back ASAP. It has since been 5 days and no one from Groupon has responded back as yet. Attempted to follow up with them and no luck yet still. Quiet a poor customer service and bad condition products they are selling.
I would never purchase anything from Groupon ever again. Scam. There's no one to talk to call or nothing. They have false information in the site. Told me I would have access to my Groupon within 2 hours of purchase took way longer and I ended up loosing money because I can't use the Groupon now
I bought the CuisineArt knives from O Magazine's 31 August #. It arrived promptly BUT is obviously a returned item. The box was ripped and poorly "mended" w/ packing tape, the knife block is filthy including dirt inside the knife slots, several knives show evidence of previous use. (Etching, etc.) Adding insult to injury - 3 knives have bent tips. No way to reach them. The deal sounded great but... I wonder if Oprah has had complaints. Anyone else have problems w/ knife set?

My girlfriend and I have bought N U M E R O U S Groupons, but have begun to see a clear and disturbing trend of extremely poor customer service from the Groupon merchants. It has gotten so bad that we've spent money on Groupons but now refuse to use them. We'd rather swallow the loss than be subjected to such lousy service.
Walk through the door with a big flashing Groupon printout, and second-class citizenship is sure to follow.
Certainly something Groupon will have to fix, in a hurry, of they're going to start losing customers en mass.

Do NOT purchase travel/hotel deals with this company. You will not be able to make last-minute changes or cancellations. The best you'll get is 72 hrs and that's ONLY for cancelling. You cannot CHANGE your reservation under any conditions... even though they'll tell you to "contact the merchant directly". Well, the merchant (hotel, etc) can't do anything because it was a 3rd party purchase. Hence, you're out the total amount you paid.
My wife and I both have accounts. We have been trying to order Groupons for a couple of weeks. We've tried changing passwords. We've sent them messages through their so-called customer support online. No response. They no longer offer phone customer support. I can only conclude that the idiots do not want our business.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.

They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders.
