I love Groupon. I have done so well with getaways, dinners, family outings, salon treatments. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with my Groupons. My one gripe is when receiving med spa services, some places stipulate tipping on the full amount of service (not the Groupon price). I'm sorry, I just don't agree. Some of these Medical spa treatments like I-Lipo or Lipo-Ex are way over priced and extremely brief services with little to almost no work for the technician administering these services. Many require getting laser paddles strapped on to the body and the timer set on the machine and the technician leaves the room. I was a bit resentful of the somewhat demanding note posted on the wall of one med spa office. I use Groupon because I would not otherwise be able to afford these over priced med spa services and to have to add a $75 tip for a 20 minute treatment is just ridiculous and defeats the purpose. It also makes me wonder what sort of service I will get on my second treatment because I gave a tip based on what I paid for the Groupon.
IF YOU USE THEM 1 TIME, THEY SAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. I WAS SEARCHING THEIR WESITE AND 4 HRS LATER AND UNATHORIZED RESERVATION WAS MADE AND THEY DEDUCTED 550 FROM MY CHECKING AOCCOUNT. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE "MANAGER" YELLED INTO THE PHONE "i CANT HEAR YOU" AND DISCONNECTED THE CALL, i WASNT YELLING
A scam company out of Texas is running ads for garage door service on groypon in Cincinnati. They are on there as Cincinnati garage door experts. They ARE NOT the legitimate Cincinnati garage door experts that is and has been registered with the state of Ohio. The parent company is Fox garage doors operating under hundreds of copycat and fake names across the country. Over 30 names in the cincinnati and Dayton markets alone. Most of their ratings on Groupon is from fake accounts that they set-up and bought themselves, they operate with subcontractors working on commission only, they are not permitted to leave a residence with a service ticket under $400 without calling the office which in turn will call you. I operate a door company, not one they have copied yet, I've had many customers tell how they had to threaten to call the police just to get them to leave, I've seen openers sabatoged to appear defective when in fact they are not. The most common trick I've seen has been switching #1 wall control wire to the #3 terminal allowing power to still show at the control but not function. Groupon refuses to remove them from their site, probably because it's nationwide, it's good money and they are not the ones getting ripped off.

Two years ago Groupon sent out a special deal for Christmas that gave me free money to spend in the future as bonus for any upcoming deals.
Last year I got a similar deal and sent my answer in good time before expiration date; this time Groupon did not even bother to confirm receiving my Email. First after calling them by telephone to get a confirmation from the office clerk that my Email - probably - was received did not help as the operator told me that all of the tickets with free money were gone and unavailable, but the 45th operator told me that I was number 43 of 900 available deals. No body of the operators that I spoke to could help me further and my personal conclusion is that no Christmas present for 2014 was to be received from Groupon.
Apart from this Groupon does not always have the BEST deal for the buck; quite effortlessly I have received the same or lower price at several deals that were announced online through groupon only by showing the price when eating at restaurant to the waiter.
I purchased 10k rope3.5m-24: Mens Solid 10kt Gold 3.2mm 24" Rope chain from Groupon for close to $300. I purchased it on October 2nd and received it on October 20th. It was for a Christmas gift. I gave it to him on Christmas and the item is already falling apart. I contacted Groupon and they will not do anything as it is outside of the 14 day return period. If a company won't guarantee the quality of an item outside of 14 days that should be the first red flag. I am on the phone with my credit card company trying to dispute the charge but I don't know what luck I will have. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. They won't stand behind their crappy items. -Holly
I purchased a groupon for eye glasses at JCPenny. When at JCPenney their sale at the time made it much cheaper for me to purchase the glasses without using the groupon. The clerk in the store told me to call Groupon and the $75 I paid for the Groupon would be refunded. I did that and Groupon told me that they could not refund it as it was outside of their 3 day cancel policy. There is no way I could or should be expected to know that the JCPenney sale would be a lower cost within 3 days! I called Groupon and they told me that I would have a $75 refund to my account to use for anything else. Later when I went to purchase another Groupon I found that there was no credit to my account. I called and was told that the 3 day policy meant they could not refund it. I was told that they would. They said they had no record of that. So basically they lied to me on the first call about this. The Groupon is good for much longer than 3 days, so there is no way to have known the price was cheaper at JCPenney. I can only use the $75 at JCPenney for prescription eyeglasses. That is not something I go buy everyday! I have basically wasted $75 for an issue that was not my fault. I have been a very frequent customer of Groupon, but this is horrible customer service. A rip off!
I put in an order, then get an email saying they cancelled it because they thought it was fraud... I waste my time. Very bad service! They don't want my money. I wish you to splurged quickly!
I have been a customer for ideeli.com for several months, starting 2009. I agree with several of the reviews on your site that ideeli.com is not a fully trustworthy to do business with. All of their complaints are mine too.
On 11/30/09 I placed order ******* with them. It consisted of a Jessica Simpson black dress and a pair of Harahuko high heel shoes. In their acknowledgement of my order, of which I have a copy, they stated "We expect to ship this item between Dec. 16 - Dec. 22,2009." I emailed *******@ideeli at end of December about my order and concern. I did not get a response for over a week. After my second email, they emailed me telling me that the order was shipped early December. They gave me UPS track number to confirm. I did and what UPS stated is that yes, my order had been delivered to some place in New Jersey (their warehouse?). I was so upset! Emailed this time to their *******@ideeli.com and quoted my UPS tracking findings. I told them I wanted a reimbursement of my money in my account since they do not return your money but they put it as credit in your ideeli account.
It has been about 2 weeks since. I have not heard from them and, when I went to My Account Shipments, a list of all your purchases, order numbers, date you ordered, etc, I found all info abt. My order has been errased except the order number and date of order. To the present time, I have not received an answer to my last email, have not received my money back and they have basically stolen my money and tried to erased everything about my order! What can I do? I AM A VICTIM OF FRAUD by Ideeli!
Hi Carmen: I want to apologize for the delayed communication. I want to make sure that the issue has since been resolved. Please contact support@ideeli.com directly if your issue has not been resolved, and we will be more happy to work through this with you. Thank you for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated.

This website is garbage. I purchased a '$20 for $40 American Apparel' groupon in November and the same day tried the coupon and it didn't work. I emailed groupon and they told me to contact the merchant directly, so I did. I called American Apparel and they told me they'd send me another groupon code because the one I had 'cancelled' before I even used it. So I waited for my new code to be sent to my email and waited almost a month and didn't get a new code. I emailed groupon 5 times and they kept telling me to contact American Apparel. On one email, I didn't get an automated email and got a real person, Priya, and she replied with "I'll see what I can do" and never replied after that. Finally I called groupon customer service and the first guy was sighing after every sentence I said and was very unprofessional and rude. As I was receiving my groupon code for him, he told me to hold the phone as there was another line. I did and he hung up on me after 5 minutes. I called back again and the second guy was much nicer but told me that he couldn't do anything except tell the Groupon board about the problem. My coupon expired 3 days ago and they told me they couldn't refund me because it expired. It's expired because their customer service on email took 2 weeks to reply, every time.
Groupon is complete $#*!. I'm NEVER buying from this $#*! company again.
I purchased an expensive TV from Groupon--$1,300. It arrived in a plain cardboard box that clearly was not the manufacturer's box. It otherwise looked ok, and so I hung it up and plugged it in. It was defective. Horribly so. Weird bright lines and lights all over the left side of the screen.
I immediately called to return the item. After explaining that I couldn't just take this 70" TV to the post office to return and that it arrived via freight, the "customer service" rep said that the shipper will come to pick it up and that I will receive a refund 10 days later. Not ideal, but I waited.
A week later, I called to find out why the tv had not been picked up. The rep apologized and said that the shipper will contact me to schedule a pick up. That never happened, of course.
I called back a week later, and said that I was going to have to sue if the shipper did not contact me soon. The "customer service" rep said that he would "escalate" the matter, but he could not explain what that meant!
I then filed a complaint with AmericanExpress, hoping they can force a reverse charge, and I am also going to file a suit in small claims court if AmEx cannot resolve the issue for me.
Don't buy anything from this company--ever. Just don't.
Hi All, WARNING STAY AWAY FROM GROUPON!
Do not under any circumstances purchase live event tix from Groupon. I bought 2 tix for the event. The tix had the wrong date and they refused to offer me a refund. I didn't get the date wrong, the tix had the wrong date they sent me. We arrived at the venue and to my surprise nobody was there, and the gate was closed. I checked and rechecked my tix and yes, the date on the tix said January 17, but the event was on the 16th!
Don't understand the negative reviews. I think only the angry people which are few and far between make an effort to review the site while the happy people don't bother but I have to give my opinion. First, I looooooooooove Ideeli. My items are normally received the next week as indicated by the shipping. Some items take longer as they have to wait to get them from the manufacturer and the time varies. I think the negative people don't read the shipping guidelines and just think it's Ideeli's fault. All of my items were of great quality and at fabulous prices. I googled the itmes and I save big time. I even see a BCBG dress that I bought from Ideeli being sold on Hautelook a few times at 3 times what I paid for from Ideeli. Their red sales are epic but you have to be fast. It is frustrating when something you want sells out quickly especially during one of their red sales but the prices are very competitive and the quantities are limited in the red sale. So don't let these negative reviews deter you. Shop at Ideeeli!
Hi Kandice,
I'm thrilled to hear that! It means a lot to us to get feedback from our members and I'm so glad you're enjoying your ideeli experience. If I can ever be of help with anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me here. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience.

After my account got flagged by IDEELI as fraud and got cancelled by them, they also had removed my previous $200 store credit. Worst than that I had an incoming 4 returned items worth of $129 also got confiscated after they received them (my account got cancelled AFTER my returned items received by IDEELI). I am still waiting for the remaining 12 items that I had placed on other orders and since they were already shipped (in transit till May) that they told I can no longer have the option to return for any reason because my account has been closed.
I am very very very disappointed, appalled by what they did to me. I now tell my friends to stay away from this site even though I was the one who highly recommended them before my account got closed. As a retail company, Word of Mouth Advertising is the most effective marketing strategy and way cheaper than any other methods. I am sad that they don't realize that 1 unhappy customer would cost them far more future customers that they could have gained to make one happy.
Goodbye, IDEELI!
Hi Terry,
Thanks for letting us know your thoughts here on SiteJabber. The reason your account was canceled was due to the fact that 15 Groupon vouchers were attempted to be redeemed onto your account. Our Loss Prevention team cancelled and closed the account due to this violation of our Terms and Conditions as well as the terms of the Groupon offer, as only one was able to be used per person. This was explained in the emails with the supervisor from our Loss Prevention team. Due to these reason we were unable to allow for the account to remain open and for any more of the promotional credits to be used. Below is a section from our Terms and Conditions which is agreed to when becoming a member of ideeli:
"Failure to follow these Terms and Conditions constitute grounds for immediate termination of your Membership without further notice at ideeli's sole discretion. Termination of your Membership will result in termination of all rights of access and use granted to Members including, but not limited to, any credits applied to your Account. In addition, Members whose accounts have been terminated may not access the ideeli Services or the Member portion of Site in any manner, or for any reason."
The value of the items shipped to from your previous orders exceeds the amount of valid credit used on those orders - any additional credit you may have received from returning the two items in dispute were nullified as the credit used to purchased those items was in excess of what was allowed. I do understand how this can be upsetting and have checked in your account to ensure that the paid amounts for all of the Groupon vouchers were used, as well as more than one of the promotional credits, before the account was closed.

I purchased a voucher for $10 to buy a Shutterfly photo book for $10 plus shipping. Prior to the expiration date of the Groupon it said "don't worry it never expires" WELL when I went to use it today it was a completely different order. It was $10 TOWRDS a purchase of a photo book. I emailed customer service and got nowhere. They told me I can give it to someone as a gift if I don't want it. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GROUPON''' EVER
They don't help you when you ask for a refund.
Some Groupons have hidden information like the address of a business thats 3 hours away from City that the post has in the title of the groupon. In order to view address is to open voucher but once you open it they say you can't get a refund. They will tell you that its a final sale to keep your money when in fact a business says that its not a final sale. Groupon use to be good and went down hill. BEWARE THEY WILL DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP YOUR MONEY! STAY AWAY!
I baught lipo w with vit B12b shots together. I had a horrible experience. The tech placed needle one fingerbreath below my acronium and the pain was so bad I thought my arm was going to be numb for ever. I called Krave and the owner and receptionist didn't care so I had to sit I'm my car for hours till pain went down. Then I show up again for my shots and the tech wasn't even there when he schedule my appt. After that I decided not to waste my time with them. Don't ever spend your money with krave. If something happens to you the owner and her staff w tell you there's nothing they can do.
I was adding things to my cart from my Groupon online app, it immediately purchased DOUBLE of everything I was adding to my cart. I chatted (you can't call them = "SCAM TACTICS") with someone immediately, and they said I have to reach out to all of the separate vendors. (13 in total) They can't cancel the order even though it, literally, just went through. Groupon sent auto response emails from the 13 vendors (from China) and, guess what, you can't respond or call or find any of their information to contact them to cancel the orders. Now I have over $800 worth of crap I was only considering (x2) being shipped. Groupon has single-handedly ruined mine and my family's Christmas. They take no responsibility for the auto ordering or any of their vendors. They don't even have proper contact information for the vendors you buy from. The Groupon chat person said that this happens ALL OF THE TIME!?!? Do yourself a favor and delete your account and warn others. What a terrible, disgusting company they have become.
PLEASE be advised that if you purchase a product that is DEFECTIVE they will insist that you send them the product back and get a full refund with no exchange options or any other accomodations. You have to go out of your way on your own to purchase mailing supplies and wait 7-10 days for a full refund, amazon would NEVER treat a customer that way! Then they had the nerve to ask me for a review on the product and because my review was dissatisfactory they DENIED my review! I have the proof! This is just bad customer service! Take your money to AMAZON.
DO NOT BUY HERE!
I signed up with ideeli for a long time, but never bought anything, I saw their Ad recently saying "10% off your first order", so I decided to buy a Saint Laurent bag, I placed my order, didn't see the 10% off, so I emailed and asked how do I use it, they email back saying the offer was no longer available (but it is still alive today in their Ad), but for one time courtesy they applied $15 off for my order.
The bag came this week. Terrible packaging for such expensive ($2000) item. I've bought same brand bag from Gilt before and their packaging was way better. The worst part is there's scratch all overt the hardware, the zipper is RUSTED, there's dry glue and scratch on the bottom of the bag, it is definitely NOT a brand new bag, it's either returned by someone after use or it's a vintage one and they sell it in the price of a new bag. I looked at my order and the bag of course is non-returnable. I took photos and emailed their customer service to ask if this is a new authentic bag. No reply after 24 hours.
Hi Ari,
Thank you for giving us your feedback here on SiteJabber. I believe you've spoke with one of our customer service supervisors who was able to help you resolve this issue and return the item. Due to high volume with the holiday season, customer service has been a little delayed in answering emails. If a purchase is ever damaged or imperfect, our team is always happy to allow you to return an item for a refund back to form of payment.
You should have been sent a return label to ship back the item to us, as this was sent to you via email by the supervisor you were working with. We can assure you that even if this item was damaged it was never used and was a new item. Once your bag arrives back to us and is checked by our merchandising team. We will process the full refund back to your credit card. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for being a part of Ideel.

Bought a Groupon for a guided kayak tour for 2 and it was a complete fiasco, guide didnt show, read my review on tripadvisor, But GROUPON responded immediately to my emails and refunded my purchase price in full. Good on GROUPON
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
Groupon has a rating of 1.6 stars from 5,286 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Groupon most frequently mention customer service, credit card and fine print. Groupon ranks 250th among Daily Deals sites.
Hi Alice,
Thanks for commenting here on SiteJabber. I'm sorry to hear your order was canceled by our Loss Prevention department. Being an online-only company, loss prevention is very important to us since we want to protect our members. The team will sometimes reach out to a member after an order is placed in order to verify information. If they aren't able to reach you, the order can be canceled. If you'd wanted information as to why this was canceled, you could have reached out to our Loss Prevention team as stated in the email you were sent noting the cancellation.
I'm happy to check into why this happened and see if there is any way that item can be reordered. If you'd like me to check this, please send a message with the email address your account is under as well as the order number. Once I have this information I'll work with our Loss Prevention team to find out why the order was canceled and then get back to you. I look forward to resolving this for you.
