Ideel used to be one of my favorite online shopping websites before it was consolidated within the Groupon branch. I wanted to keep open minded, but have found the merchandisers are no longer designer brands. I wish Groupon would work with the companies used to partner with the prior Ideel company and brings back the designer products Consumers desire. I would give 4 stars to the previous Ideel, but only 1 star to the current Ideel site after it was consolidated into the Groupon branch. Recently I have found another online designer shop site - "Rue La La" that is somewhat comparable with the previous Ideel site, although I still prefer the pre-Gropon-Ideel better than "Rue La La".
I have found this website to be very good. Not only do they offer great deals, but their customer service is excellent. If there's a problem (not often) their reps are responsive and very helpful.
I have used Groupons for purchasing items and have had no problems.
Where I have had issues are when purchasing services (spa services, etc.)
The problem is that they OVERSELL these services and the vendors get overwhelmed. It takes forever to get an appointment scheduled and the vendor also gets slammed with all the negative press when the customer can't get an appointment at the time they want or within a reasonable timeframe? Not good for business because most people will take the time to write a negative review about the place. There needs to be a LIMIT on the number they sell on groupon.
I tried to buy a voucher for 2 for 1 and there was an error online so i kept trying before i knew it i hve bought 5 lots of 2 for 1s straight away i emailed to try to rectify before thy were sent i got an email 2 days later saying thy couldn't do anything because it wasnt my account i replied saying of course its my account then another 2 days pass thy tell me its now been sent so is to late wht a crock of $#*! if thy had done something as soon as i notified them thy could hve rectified it thy mucked around till it was to late thr solution gift the excess over $200 worth and i now hve 10 pairs of pants instead of 2 idiots
Had a hotel reservation to Great Wolf Lodge through Groupon. Obviously with the COVID19 outbreak the hotel closed due to state orders. Great Wolf wouldnt extend my reservation because it was a promotion through Groupon. Ok i get that, I got a smokin deal during winter rates. And they wont reopen till summer rates. Sucky but ok. This would have been our first visit for my 4 year old daughters bday. Contact Groupon, groupon will not refund my money, only offered Groupon Bucks to buy other unwanted crap. I had to call and dispute the charge as fraud. Ridiculous.
I have yet to be able to make a purchase on this website. My first attempt was a couple months ago I tried twice to buy a getaway package and it said my billing address did not match my bank's records. On the second try about an hour later the deal was sold out so I tried for the other cabin and got the same message.
Today I have now made more than 8 attempts to buy a paintball package and am getting the same message every time and it NEVER updates my credit card info in my account. I have sent and received several emails from customer service. They stared by telling me to do exactly what their CC update page tells you to. Then to update my browser or use a different browser. Tried both and both are the most current versions. Then said I must have a cookie problem. Soo I cleared cookies, cache and history in both browsers and restarted them and my computer. Still getting the same message that my billing address doesn't match bank records. I have told them at least 3 times the problem is on their end. This has happened before and last time was a phone order. The problem is when a company uses a processing service that doesn't access new account information for verification. I just can't wait to hear what hoops they want me to jump through next.
Run the other way! This is my first online complaint ever but I think you should know about this.
Groupon is a web based marketing company. They promote a special your business offers to their internet customers in exchange for 50% payment. No $$ upfront. Sounds great right? Wrong... After dealing with the pushy sales man for 2 weeks we finally agreed on a price that would be offered for the service I would provide. I had to sign a "No compete" form promising I would not place this ad or a similar one anywhere until several weeks AFTER my run date. After reading the fine print on the contract I realized it was all wrong. I had him revise the contract 3 times. Do they think we are dumb and won't read this stuff?
I was concerned about the "No compete" clause I signed. I mean I agreed not to advertise this service until after this ran on Groupon. I was assured my ad would most likely be up within 8 weeks at the most. It's now been 4 months still NO ad has been placed.
I continue seeing the same businesses being promoted on Groupon but not mine.
All I am told is that they will get to it. They said "We didn't guarantee your ad would be posted within 8 weeks we only said it most likely would be".
This is TERRIBLE! It's deceitful & bogus.
Hello this review is fro Glass Mosaic Canada, I bought a groupon for a two hour class, when I arrived I was told that the groupon was not valid, I asked why and the owner said we stopped doing them, I said well I made a appt and had him look up my name in his book which was there, he then said I had to pay a material fee of $79.00 I said my understanding was the fee was between 12-15 dollars depending on the piece you made, He then said "what do you think I am made of money, I dont even make money on the Groupon, this is Canada I'm not doing this for nothing. All this was being said in front of a large group of people, and was very imbaressing to me. I siad i was not going to pay $79 for a $25.00 course and he said fine then go. How do people who are so rude, disresptful and down right mean stay in business... It boggles the mind I would never go there again, in a big city like Toronto to go and learn about Mosaic's
It is a cheating and lying company selling promotions and when they arrive at the house they want to make more charges, I am going to report them in bbb for misleading advertising, I waited 10 days for them to do the work for me and if I did not accept an extra $250 they would not do the work for me
I was trying to find out about rescheduling my groupon purchase covid and all - the person online not in Australia no doubt was not at all interested in helping me out - i didn't want anything but to reschedule - what a complete loser - dont deal with groupon at all - definitely no after sale service - person i spoke with was Bigyani C who offered me no service - do yourself a favour and stay away
I really didn't think about it this way but they are really good at giving me ideas for where to take out my next date. I just login and look at what would be a fun activity for two people.
Never received my purchase(s)
Followed all procedures perfectly~
Groupon rep kept referring me back to vendor who I had reached out to on multiple occasions & merchant was unresponsive for days, weeks-
Groupon reps continued to string me along w commitments of escalation of my issue to no avail-NO ORDER(s) EVER RECEIVED after 2 months-no resolution.
COMPLETELY & TOTALLY RIPPED OFF
NEVER AGAIN***
GREAT AT TAKING YOUR MONEY BUT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM TO REACH THEM IS A NIGHTMARE NOT A JOKE PURE NIGHTMARE. WASTE OF TIME ONLINE CHAT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T HELP. FOR A YEAR I HAVE SENT EMAILS THEY RESPOND WITH THANK YOU WE WILL REPLY WITHIN 3 DAYS. A YEAR. IT IS MADDENING. SHAME ON ALL COMPANIES THAT ARE NOT OF THEIR WORD AND HAS NO PHONE NUMBER. I AM AT A LOSS I HAVE SENT 20 CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE. CANNOT SAY ENOUGH BAD ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Though I have accounts with other sale sites as well, I usually end up ordering items I see from ideeli because they tend to have the lowest sale prices. However, they also take the longest to actually ship after an order is placed (at least a week if not a bit longer), shipping costs $9, and they ask UPS to ship your package to your local post office which then takes another 2 days to ship the package to you. My last purchase was ordered July 10, was not shipped until July 25, and I did not receive it until August 4. To be fair, when an order is placed, the website does tell you the expected ship date - and it is pretty accurate. Even though the merchandise is usually a good deal, paying $9 for shipping that takes forever is frustrating. I would only recommend ordering things from ideeli that you don't need to have immediately.
As for sizing issues - it is very hit or miss. I ordered 2 dresses, both smalls, and only one fit when they arrived. It makes me wonder if the sizing chart is really from the clothing manufacturer or a generic sizing table from ideeli.
My conclusion is this - you get what you pay for. I have always received my orders, and the merchandise has always been intact and new, but I'm not sure that is really cause for praise - that's just saying the site isn't a scam. Thus my rating of 2 stars out of 5.
I really like buying through groupon. Stopped using it recently as the deals don't seem to be quite as good as they were. Still great though and recommended.
We also got ripped off by groupon. Purchased some bedding which never turned up. We contacted trading standards who tried several times to contact groupon but were unsuccessful.
NEVER USE THEM. GROUPON MADE A TOTAL MESS OF EVERYTHING FROM DAY ONE... IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT. I WORKED 7 DAYS 12 HOURS A DAY AS I GOT 398 CLIENTS IN 6 WEEKS,... SALON IM IN DEBT WITH THROUGH STOCK USED FOR MY DEAL.AND £6000 IS OWED TO ME FROM GROUPON WHO REFUSE TO PAY. ALL HARD WORK, TIME, STOCK FOR NOTHING, HAD TO CAP DEAL AS THEY KEPT STOCK MONEY,, SO GOT BAD REVIEWS FROM CLIENTS WHO BOUGHT VOUCHERS BUT COULDNT BOOK... THANKS GROUPON
I love Groupon as they have some really good discounted offers on days out meals and goods. When you purchase there's no clicking and pasting like on wowcher
A lot of these offers are complicated and unrealistic. Also not as great on savings as they appeared. A little research would goa long way b4 you buy.
The only thing I don't like about Groupon is that they didn't sell to Google and lost a billion dollars. Smooth Move. Other than that - love the products
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
Groupon has a rating of 1.6 stars from 5,286 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Groupon most frequently mention customer service, credit card and fine print. Groupon ranks 250th among Daily Deals sites.
Hi Christine,
Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback, which I always appreciate. I definitely understand how hard it can be to wait for an order that you're eagerly anticipating! Please know that we ship as fast as possible once we receive your merchandise directly from the manufacturer.
To help you understand: We work directly with manufacturers to fulfill each order. They ship to us, and then we ship to you. This can result in a bit of a longer wait time, but it ensures guaranteed authenticity. As you mentioned, we do list the estimated shipping date on each individual sale page, as well as on the order confirmation so you'll know exactly when to expect it.
In addition, for most packages, we use a combination of UPS and USPS services. Since the final delivery is handled by your local postal service, your order can now be delivered 6 days a week, including Saturdays.
That said, I'll certainly share your feedback with our internal teams. We're continually working to enhance the ideeli experience and your comments and suggestions are very important to us.
Thanks again,
Jason Faria
