I purchases Wiseguys comedy club groupon for a night out with my husband. Every single show was listed as a special event making the groupon not valid for it. We tried at least 8 shows... one only $12 to get into... still categorized as a special event. Asked groupon to refund it due to not having availability at the merchant to use and they refused. Even the value of it won't be honored at the merchant as they say it is after expiration. I spend at least $100 a month on groupon and they just lost a loyal customer over $15. Speaks volumes of their customer service and any recourse you think you might have. I'll be using my remaining groupons and deleting the app permanently. Do not recommend site at all.
Bought a voucher for a theatre show in Toronto. Because of an email mix up I was unable to print the voucher. Numerous times I emailed them to explain the problem and try to get them to fix it. No use. Their mantra was to change my password but it was in a different email that I couldn't access because it didn't exist. So I couldn't change it. So I paid groupon $60 for a show I will never be able to see. Beware this company you could lose money.
I purchased 3 wine tour groupons. We booked with the company, reserved a hotel room for the night and showed up early for our pick up (along with 25 other people). We waited for 3 hours for the tour bus, made multiple phone calls and never got a call back and our bus never showed up. The tour company finally got back to me through email with lame excuses and told me to contact groupon. It took me 4 weeks to get a call back from groupon. I asked for one multiple times (because there is no number to call) and was told I would get a call in the next 24 hours. After multiple attempts to speak to someone they called me back and told me there is nothing they can do for me and that they will not issue a refund for the voucher. Outrageous! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I would get a call back from them... I seriously doubt that. I will never purchase anything from groupon again.
I canceled my order after 10 minutes because I forget to apply a coupon.
According to their own instructions: I cancelled the purchase then I received a message by mail confirming the cancellation and refund so I proceeded confidently to make the purchase again and apply my coupon.
Although I followed their own instructions they took the money from my card for the canceled purchase and they will return it in 10 days? It's crazy! I totally upset!
I fine from my Bank because I use more money that I had. ( I have two charges from two purchases :'( ).
The site of Groupon doesn't have a costumer service on live, only has several Q&A that never resolve your issue.
I ordered 5 Tart Inifinity Maxi dresses in black for my bridesmaids from ideeli.com. When they arrived the one medium sized dress was the exact dress I ordered, the other 4 (size small for all of them) were knee length versions of the dress. I attempted to email and live chat with ideeli.com and couldn't get a response. Upon further research I found a phone number and finally got an answer after two phone calls - they sold out of the maxi length and found it an okay substitution to send me these knee length dresses instead. I had no prior warning or notification. The person I spoke with made it sound like he was doing me a favor by providing free return shipping on the items he sent me that were wrong and coudln't understand why it was an issue. I would absolutely NEVER shop with ideeli again and would highly recommend anyone considering it to ponder if they care if they get the exact product they ordered or something ideeli independently deems an okay "substitution".
I check in on them every now and then for deals, but had to unsubscribe from their email list because I couldn't deal with the barrage of emails I was receiving. I found, for me personally, that the length of time for deals was too short - I felt like I was always being rushed to make a purchasing decision, so I'll come here in the future for when I'm window shopping.
My browser decided to glitch, leading to a purchase for event tickets to go through, which I didn't want. Not only that, but it submitted twice. The second transaction could not go through because I did not have the over $200 that each order equaled, but the first did. It was an event, and I knew that those were final sale, however, it was by complete mistake that this occurred, so I contacted Groupon immediately for help. I never received any response and had to email again four days later. They would not concede, even seeing that a double charge for the same event is obviously strange, so I am out the cost and have been gifted the Christmas joy of being unable to pay bills.
It seems to be a huge oversight that there is no escalations team to investigate odd transactions, as this clearly appears to be.
Thanks Groupon and Jeyamani J for being zero help and copying and pasting your script to deal with a panicking customer.
Ordered a high end gaming headset SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism. Confirmed that it was the 'Prism' model. After waiting 18 days the lower model showed up... receipt said Prism, invoice said Prism, checkout said Prism... arrived as a different model, inferior to the Prism...
ARGH! I should know and headed the reviews online.
I placed an order and a week later they cancelled it. I then placed an order for a similar item and 5 min later cancelled the order. It wouldn't show cancelled so I contacted them within 10 min of my order and they told me that I only had 2 hours to cancel the order so they could not cancel or give me my money back. I will never buy through groupon again.
I bought a Groupon deal for a local business (a spa) and everything was fine but I could tell the business that did the deal really resented the discount they were giving us. On one hand I feel like business shouldn't have done the deal if they were going to be upset about it. But on the other hand I feel like Groupon might just be gouging the businesses. Either way I was not so happy.
I bought a $550 iphone on groupon and turns out my Tmobile rep checked it and said it was either stolen or a broken contract and had a bad IMEI number, either way there was a permanent block on it and should be returned. Since then I have sent it back and its been over 10 days and still no refund, so I am out the money and no phone. I believe Groupon could be sued or the seller for shipping stolen goods across state lines, someone should have checked the IMEI number before shipping it, seems after some research this is not an uncommon problem, yikes! I will never buy on Groupon again.
Groupon itself is... sort of a good idea. BUT. It's one of those sites that hide behind the people posting on the site. Oh, it wasn't us, THEY did it. And worse than that, there are minimums with groupon so if a certain number of people don't buy something you don't get it. I also hated groupon when I worked for a company that used it. The company sold off our services at such a cheap price and the people using the groupon weren't really in the market for our service unless it was basically free. We were having to bump regulars in order to take them and the whole thing was just sort of an issue.
I did use groupon for a hotel stay recently and i was sort of upset when I realized that the $10 cheaper regular room rate included more "extras" than the groupon. So, buyer beware, always go with companies you already know to be reputable, and always read the fine print.
I signed up for Groupon years ago, and used to get good offers on restaurants, for the most part. Now I get a few emails a day. I've found some of their "discount" offers attractive, but when I research a little, I find that I can get the item I'm interested for less on another web site. Last week I ordered "Premium Bamboo Sheets" because here was a deal that was actually a money-saver. They arrived over the weekend, but they were polyester instead. I contacted the seller and they offered a return and a refund, but not the bamboo sheets. I contacted Groupon and they said they couldn't do anything because it's a "third-party merchant." Meanwhile, the offer is still on Groupon, despite the fact that the merchant knows it's a fraudulent offer. And the price I paid for the sheets is, as usual, no deal for polyester sheets.
I've had no problems with Groupon. I've purchased a few deals from them before. Got the deal in the timeframe promised. Orders were not canceled. I prefer them over LivingSocial. The Amazon gift card deal was a fiasco. Prefer Groupon.
Like any discount service you have to use it to benefit. I must use the same day or I forget. I have a couple hundred dollars in expired groupons i need to claim. The initial cash value can never expire.
After reading all the reviews, I totally expected to be disappointed with my purchases. I expected the shipping to be slow. I expected the products to be irregular/floor samples/incorrect sizes. I took the risk because it was so dirt cheap. I was nervous because I was ordering 3 pairs of shoes, and you are never sure how they will fit! They were also non-refundable because of the extreme discount. My boyfriend told me to just gamble and do it. I'm so glad I took his advice!
First, the shoes fit PERFECTLY.
Second, the shoes were absolutely brand new and probably never have been removed from the packaging/box ever before.
Third, the shipment came in FOUR days.
Fourth, the shipment arrived safely at the post office and not left at my apartment door to be stolen.
THANK YOU SO MUCH IDEELI!
Hi Vy,
You're so welcome! I'm thrilled that you love your new shoes. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience here. I wish you continued happy shopping on ideeli!

The golf pro merchant could not honor the deal due to his unavailibility and refused to extend the deal. It took a month of emails and a long phone conversation with Groupon support for them to finally refund the money.
Do not and I repeat again do not buy kodi box from gropoun... or from android store via groupon, you will never get nothing from them... i mean nada. Zero. Save your money and do something better in your life.
I ordered a product that was supposed to be mailed to me latest 10 days and it still havent arrived a month later. I've sent 3 emails to them about it and only got a response to the first one saying that they cant do anything until it ships from the company. Finally when i called them only then would they refund the money back to me. I think it's ridiculous how i have to wait a whole month and call them myself to get the refund. The guy on the phone said that we werent the only ones with this problem which means they knew about the problem but didnt contact any of their customers to notify them about a refund. They even gave me $5 extra credit online but that was sent to me a week before a i called which means they could have let me know what was going on with my product.
I ordered a phone case I thought I was getting a deal.
I read the delivery terms but didn't actually think they worked like that.
1. Groupon doesn't tell yo uwhen to expect the delivery. The tracking is non existant.
2. their customer service department is probably the laziest and non responsive customer service department I've ever worked with. I sent them an email and some person (probably not in the US) responded with the most generic reply... were sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you bla bla bla... bunch of $#*!ing idiots!
3. you do save money on some of their products but their customer service and delivery methods suck fat $#*!!
I will never ever order anything from Groupon again.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.

Hi Laura,
I appreciate that you took the time to provide us with your feedback on SiteJabber. Thanks for letting us know your feelings about the amount of our emails. You are able to customize the amount you receive emails through your ideeli account. If you would prefer to still receive emails from us on a non-daily basis, you can go to your account and click on the tab all the way to the right called "Email & Password", and choose from receiving emails once a day or once a week. You can personalize your emails so you only receive information on the categories you want (Women's Clothing, Shoes, or Home).
All of our sales run different lengths and we've increased our cart timer from 15 minutes to 20 minutes. Due to the nature of our site being flash sales, we aren't able to allow a member to leave an item in the cart for longer than 20 minutes since that item will need to be made available to another member so that it can be purchased before a sale ends since all sales are timed.
Thank you again for your feedback and please feel free to private message me with any questions or further feedback. Thanks for being an ideeli member.
Best,
