This is an ingenius idea. I am a marketing sales rep (not for groupon) and I have seen and heard most everything, and so have business owners. Groupon has taken permission based advertising to the next level. The potential customer has asked to see the deal of the day through their email inbox and make a purchase if they so choose. The business receives the money upfront and the customer can use the groupon whenever they decide too, before the expiration date. From an advertising stand point this is a WIN WIN.
I bought a lenovo PC from them. When I opened the box, it was a different one. When I tried the return the item online, the attempt was rejected as they label the item as "final sale".
The fact is under the production description, they claim it is "Free Return". When I emailed the customer service, I was told that they would send me a prepaid shipping label as one time exception "as we are close to the 14 day return window". I reported the problem within minutes of taking delivery. How could it be close to the 14 day return window?
Just be aware they operate on tight budget. What you get may not be what you want!
I had store credit from a pair of boots that I returned and as I was waiting for an in stock notice on another size, which never happened, the site was gone and so was my credit! That is a really crappy way of doing business and I don't see how that wouldn't be considered theft!
Thought Groupon was great until I found out the businesses only get HALF of what you pay for the voucher. So a restaurant voucher $10 for $20 the restaurant only gets $5! What a scam! No wonder there are so few deals on Groupon!
I've got some great deals from Groupon but I also found out do your homework and make sure your getting what you expect. It's no fault of Groupon it's the way some offers are written or presented and once you buy it it's yours. I like the variety and seeing what some of the crazier offers are. I like it and will continue to shop through it I just make sure to check into the offer before buying.
I purchased a Groupon weeks ago for a massage. I have left messages for the merchant to call me to schedule an appointment. No return call. So I emailed Groupon asking for a refund. I keep getting the run around about a refund and it's extremely exhausting. Every question the reps have asked, I answered. They asked for the dates I contacted the merchant. I provided the info. They asked if I wanted to explore refund options and I said yes. But no rep has extended any refund options. They keep asking me the same questions by email without offering any resolve. I will never purchase a Groupon again. The discount is not worth the hassle
I never felt so scammed. They will not refund you the money if something will happen (My groupon expiration is in a month and I'll be outside US so I can't use it), and as we all know, things can happen.
They offered me Groupon Bucks - who needs that?
I've asked for a manager and they won't let me talk with a manager, they just say one of the manager will contact me by email. They said I'll get an answer in 48 hours - I already waited approx. 72 hours and no one is getting back to me.
So I promised them I will write a review so people will know about these tricks. Normally if you "return" a product or unsatisfied with a service - you are getting your money back. My situation forced me to ask for a refund because I can't use the service. If it wasn't the case - I would have use it, no questions ask. This is not the first time I'm contacting their customer service and feeling like they making me favors they help me - this is BS.
I somehow made a purchase in error for a deal of the day. Something I am not interested in nor will I use. I see in the policy for returns that i had time to cancel order. This was not true. I contacted, customer service via email since they do not have a 1800 number and was told that "in fine print it is final sale" the order was a mistake therefore I did not see nor read the fine print. What crooks. I will never use again.
I ordered a dress 14 days back. I have not got any shipping information. I had not seen these reviews before, although wish I had.
I am so worried right now about getting the product or getting my money back if I don't get the dress.
I've bought many deals and always found them excellent, I especially like the products, always getting bits for the house like bedding, and check the garden section for great offers on hosepipes to plants
I bought a limo ride through Groupon. Turns out the limo company was closed. Groupon has spent three weeks "investigating" and the whole time they're still selling the limo deal. I need to get to the airport and I'm now out close to 300 bucks. Rip-off.
I have used groupon many times and have never been disappointed. However I recently been checking and the prices they are listing are completely wrong... listed@$45/night and starts@$116, etc. I do not know why they have gone bad but I will not waste my time anymore.
My family and I shopped on ideeli for the past four years and now it's gone. I hate groupon and please bring back our ideeli. I shop online most of the time and now I can't find any website that has quality items like ideeli. Please come back! Groupon shame on you!
If you are hesitant about buying deals online, let me assure you that Groupon is a company that honours your purchases. If there is ever a problem they will help you resolve it and if no resolution they will refund your money or credit your account.
Hi,
I was a regular customer on ideali and then ideal. I had about $700 in credit on my account and now the website takes me to groupon.com. I was never contacted to use up my credit amount or given any advance warning that the website will be shut down.
I should get credited to my groupon account for the same amount that was in my ideal account.
This is terrible customer service!
Be awere when using this site, they are bunch of thefts and will steal your money. They stole my credit in my account and purchased Groupon that didn't purchase and refused to refund my money. Don't use this site, wouldn't recommend to no one. Stay away. Could have give zero stars if there was options
I purchased two laser hair removal groupons and they won't give me a refund. They don't offer refunds, because they are greedy! It is a good site for purchases that are small in price. Living social is better! They understand people's lives change and offer refunds for valid reasons. Never again!
Purchased tickets for a show that was not scheduled at the venue. Asked Groupon for a refund the day after, which they still have not provided. Will never use their services ever again. I know there were other people at the venue they did the same thing to; and I'm sure they did the same thing to them. FRAUD for sure!
I ordered a service at a discount on Groupon. The vendor didn't answer their phone. Though frustrated, I get it, we're in a pandemic. I contact Groupon to ask for a refund since it was no fault of my own. They only offer Groupon bucks as an alternative. I was frustrated. So I am now checking back a few months later on my account and Groupon never even gave me the credit in Groupon Bucks. Honestly, this is one of the most sketchy companies with poor customer service I have seen. Makes sense their stock is tanking as they're losing customers/ revenue.
Pro Tip- If you want a service you see on Groupon, call the service provider directly, 9 out of 10 times they will honor the Groupon price since they don't need to give Groupon an additional spiff on the transaction and you have security in paying directly.
Groupons purchased can't use and no refund. I would say lower then 1 star if I could. I purchased bowling groupons and they can't be used by the bowling alley. They have to many leagues and never any lanes open. I have been there several times and always the same thing. Sorry but we have no lanes open they are reserved for the leagues. Groupon I thought would at least offer credit...but nothing. I chatted online and they disconnected our conversation. Beware!
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
Groupon has a rating of 1.6 stars from 5,286 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Groupon most frequently mention customer service, credit card and fine print. Groupon ranks 250th among Daily Deals sites.
Hi Krithi,
I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling anxious. Have you consulted the expected shipping window listed on your order confirmation? This window provides the time frame in which your order will ship. If you'd like, I'm glad to look into your order's shipping status for you. Please feel free to private message me your order details so that I can investigate. I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Jason Faria
