I recently purchased the shaker bed & mattress for £199 inc delivery.
I waited in all day for the delivery (they do not give you a time slot; just 8am-6pm) and the item turned up faulty.
Upon delivery, I inspected the contents of the boxes to find a corner of the headboard broken off; the bed is of such bad quality that the broken corner fell out of the box and broken again into pieces on the floor. There was no protective packaging; no styrofoam/bubblewrap/etc... just a cardboard box.
I took photos of the broken bed and refused the delivery; the delivery driver put the boxes & mattresses back onto the van.
I attempted to phone customer services, which took 25 minutes to get through to an adviser.
I was then told that because I had refused the delivery, my refund would take longer than expected; I was 'supposed' to have taken the delivery and then arranged for their courier to collect the item another day... I am not prepared to wait around at home for another day and waste even more of my time for their convenience!
So now I am waiting for a refund...
Not good enough Groupon! I will NEVER buy any Groupon Goods Global products again.
Poor quality, and poor customer service. Not recommended
'i used groupon for the first time Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews, i brought a ratten garden furniture for the summer. But wont be getting it. The furniture arrived round about a week late.
When it arrived i followed the instructions checked every thing was there took great care in assembling it. But had problems assembling parts of it and there was other parts damaged. We phone the company on the paper work they told to take photos after we sent the photos we were told they didn't have the parts contact groupon.
I did after a number of phone calls email i got told we could have a different one for the same price so it was agreed. But then got told the company now have the parts. We were told the parts would be there in two days on the day the parts were supposed to arrive told the company didnt have the parts when we asked about the replacement which had been agreed they said they were now out of stock.
We were then told if we keep the broken set we would get a £20 voucher ( so they wanted us to spend hundreds of pounds on something that is broken.
So weeks of being messed around no customer service the people on the end of the phone or email don't know or care what they are doing. So think again about using Groupon
I placed an order in October for a bluetooth headset to give as part of a Christmas present.
I tried to retrieve the vouvher and the website crashed, I tried it a few days later to which I was told the voucher had already been redemmed, took me a month and a hlaf to get groupon to look into it after numerous emails.
They agreed there had been an error on the website, I then placed the order on the 29th of November and have paid my postage and I still have no headset to thisd date. Groupon have eventually lookd into it and said it will be another 21 working days before I recieve the headset, so 3 months after placing the order I am no further forward, do not use this site
I took a GROUP ON voucher for a o spa treatment in London and ended up having one of the worst spa experiences I ever had... i took a group on voucher for a package of 3 treatments for riverside o spa (in nuffields health centre)... the receptionist showed so much attitude that I was wondering whether I came there for free... I was shown my room which was more like a warehouse converted with unpainted wall and I wanted to ask them whether they know the importance of ambience in a spa... and then I was said the most important thing - that most of the treatments mentioned in the groupon voucher was not available!... they provided me what they can do, in which except for back massage rest everything was for the name sake... i just wanted the whole thing to end asap since on top of the building there was a train station - everyt 10 mnts a train will go and the whole place will shake as if it was an earthquake... i felt like I was looted after the whole experience... never again o spa and never again GROUP ON also as they clearly cheated people with this package!
Having complained about Groupon's apparent lack of availability for a hotel stay, I have discovered how to ameliorate the problem I faced.
Me bad!
After playing ping pong with emails i made a complaint through a site called resolver run by martin lewis of moneysaving expert, i got a few a replies then i sent them a copy of consumer rights 2015 i got off money saving expert.
They have now refunded my money, which i hope will be in my bank in 7 days.
I did email the supplier but never got a answer, any one reading this and are having difficultys with groupon use resolver or when sending a email to them quote them consumer rights 2015 and tell them to read it.
I hope this helps, copy below

Hi Kenneth,
Thanks for your continued patience and sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We have received an update from our management team stating that nowhere in the deal description was it mentioned that it's a certified diploma. So in this case we will not be responsible for the quality of service issue regarding the merchant. So in this case we will not be able to issue you a refund.
If there's anything else I can help you with, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Kind regards,
Sanjana
Do NOT order from this company. I ordered 4 wks ago and just spoke to the online chat customer services. The goods I ordered are no longer available (out of stock), so I asked for a full credit refund back onto my credit card that I paid with and they declined. They can only offer me their credit note.
This is entirely their fault. I wouldn't have initiated this purchase if the advertisement states, 'out of stock', so this is entirely Groupons fault.
By law, this is mispresentation because the company advertised something that cannot be fulfilled.
Read the Misrepresentation Act 1967:
The Misrepresentation Act exists to protect consumers from false or fraudulent claims that induce you into buying something or entering into a contract. It also allows you to claim damages.
I showed the customer service's the above statement and I then asked to speak to the manager... and guess what happened...
AS YOU CAN GUESS, SHE HUNG UP ON ME!
WARNING: Absolutely rude, a scam company, never use them.
I had purchased a Groupon Getaway and was looking to go the weekend of the 25-27th. Aware that the weekend I was looking to go would probably fill up quickly, I followed the directions specified on the fine print, clicked the link provided: Weekender Breaks and was instructed to fill out basic info such as name, email, and voucher number. I was never asked which dates I was looking to go and was not even given the option to choose. What is not specified on the Groupon is that once the "send" button is clicked, the Groupon is then considered redeemed despite never actually having any concrete dates. Furthermore, the booking agent WEEKENDER BREAKS never contacted me, and after having to call them the dates I wanted had already been filled. The agent then offered to call me to see if there were any other available trips but unsurprisingly, never did. Upon emailing Groupon for a refund they refused, holding that in their fine print once it is marked redeemed they cannot issue a refund. After requesting to be sent to a supervisor I never received an email back and had to call them three times before anyone picked up their phone. As of now they forwarded my information to a supervisor and claim I will be handled via email. Given the absolutely dreadful customer service and shady WEEKENDER BREAKS site, I will no longer be using Groupon and advise all others to stay away.
I ordered set pans off groupon when they arrived the glass lids were all smashed I emailed groupon at first they couldn't find my details after two days wanted photos of damaged goods which I sent along with date I ordered them to be told they couldn't replace them I could have £9 taken off the price they cost me £25 or send them back this is were it became annoying I had to print returns label I told them I've no printer I was told to ask neighbours or friends I told them that was not possible they told me to connect courier to arrange to pick them up I phone ed to be told wait for it... to print a label I contacted groupon again to tell them this after several emails I asked them to credit my account of the £9 and I would keep the stupid damaged pans they wanted proof the pans were damaged so I sent several photos which I forgot to mention I did send photos at the beginning of this then I got asked to send photos so £9 cud be credited to my account still waiting I will never order from this stupid site ever again they assume everyone has printers well I haven't so am left with set pans with no lids because they are smashed to pieces
We recently bought a Maddison sofa through Groupon only to find that nobody had any control over purchase and delivery. Groupon customer service seemed incapable of giving information on delivery or even of the actual company that was the supplier of the product. Lots of "we are looking into it" and" we are concerned about the service" e-mails. Met David, Nancy and others together with reference numbers for phone calls. They are obviously trained to make sympathetic noises and pretend that they know more than they do. It is so infuriating because you have paid out a chunk of money and no product has arrived. Three weeks later phone call out of the blue to tells us that the sofa is on its way and would be delivered the next day after 12pm. Hurrah! So sofa arrives before 12pm delivered by miserable local driver who had been sub contracted and obviously knows no more than we do. When I finally see the corner sofa I realise that it is of the poorest quality and bears little resemblance to the photograph in the offer. It cost £299 instead of £699. A true bargain! Nope the sofa is probably worth £199 at most. Cushions are missing and centre back cushion is mocked up and partly filled. It is just pieces of foam covered in cheap fabric. All in all the whole order has been a fiasco but with no reward to enjoy at the end. We are now looking at ways of covering this cheap and ugly sofa instead of showing it with pride. And the future with Groupon. Well we still get e-mails telling us that they are investigating its delivery and will let us know when it is on its way. You just couldn't make it up could you? To unsubscribe from these scam merchants a. S.a. P.
I purchased "Looking4Parking" Groupon voucher worth of £4 which said it will be up to 35% discount. Instruction on Groupon was not clear or concise, it just said to put Groupon code while booking. The only option to enter the code was at the beginning, before you pressed the compare
Button, which I did but no discount was shown. Even more the price
With the Groupon voucher was £76.95 when if I would book without
Voucher it would cost only £67.72 which is £9.23 more. At that time
I presumed that discount would be deducted at the end so I carried on
With booking. However it never did.
I phoned Groupon and I was told that I need to bring printed voucher on
Arrival to the company and will get discount refund. I phoned the
Company for confirmation but was informed that Groupon provided me with
False information as no refund will be given. Also they confirmed
That my booking is not discounted and I can not change or cancel it
Due to the type of booking. They said they can not help me here and
Advised to contact Groupon and solve the problem with them since I
Bought the voucher from Groupon. However when I contacted Groupon they advised me to talk to "looking4Parking" to sort out the issue and get refund of any surcharge from them as they would not going to pay back any difference that I lost using my Groupon voucher, even though it is Groupon who advertise that they have contract with the company on their site and they should take responsibility when something there is a problem.
Groupon absolves itself of responsibility by throwing problems back at their loyal customers. Groupon just misleads customers and deliberately conceals the full information which leads the customers to believe it is a good deal when in reality it is just a con. I am very disappointed with Groupon services and "deals?" luckily it is not a large amount that I have lost, though stop using Groupon in the future.
I am relieved that I realised what a shady company Groupon is before investing into a more expensive deal.
In December 2016 my account, along with many others, was hacked and items were fraudulently bought using it; however, all the money that went from my bank account was reimbursed. In about March 2017 I tried to use my Groupon account again to buy something else and it failed due to unknown reasons with the same failures happening twice on different purchases in October 2017.
I reported these failures to Groupon on each occasion and told them that there was something wrong with my account (probably as a result of security measures they put in place on my account after the hack); but every time they ignored me, said there was nothing wrong with my account and I should just try again later. In October I decided enough was enough and told Groupon that if it failed one more time then that was that and I wanted out.
In March 2018 I tried to make another purchased and it failed due to the same unknown reason again. I wrote to Groupon and said that either I wanted the credit I have on my account (about £25) sent to me directly, or I want goods to its value sent to me; and I want my account deleted. Groupon claim they are unable to do this and I have received this reply to my request:
"As much as I understand your situation I am afraid that in request to your monetary compensation I cannot comply. Groupon can only refund the price of an order and provide a gesture of goodwill in the form of Groupon credit.
I am sorry for the inconvenience, however we do not have the facility to place orders on behalf of our customers, so we will unfortunately be unable to send you the plant." (The 'plant' is the goods I wanted to buy in March.) I do not find this acceptable as there is no guarantee that if I open a new account the same failures wont happen again because the security measures may be linked to my name and not which account I am using, if this happens Ill be back to where I am now.
I am writing this as a warning to those that use Groupon: if anything goes wrong then their customer services are next to useless; and even if they eventually admit liability you won't be able to extract any money you have with them in a useful form.
SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Never had such a bad customer service experience in my life. So many phone calls, countless emails, all ignored or brushed off with one line answers, emails sent to me from them intended for other customers with their customer details in the emails! Staff that didn't seem to know what they were talking about. False promises. All to get a refund of over £100 for a faulty/damaged product. The other company that was selling through Groupon agreed to the refund immediately but Groupon still wouldn't refund, no replies to my countless messages. 5 weeks later still no explanation as to no refund, even the other company who sold the items where baffled. In the end the other company had to refund me as Groupon customer service failed to even reply or refund. DO NOT USE GROUPON UNLESS YOU ARE READY NOT TO GET A REFUND.
I have spent hundreds on Groupon in the past but have not used it since nor have anyone I know since I have warned them about Groupon's shady behaviour.
Would have given them 0/10 but this site has 1 star as the lowest score
THE ORIGINAL BED COMPANY, I bought a tv bed from this company through the groupon website, once i had paid for the bed on there website couln't get hold of them for a month so contacted groupon was told lots of times they would call me back within 72 hours they did not for about 4 times and after alot of moaning started getting the ball rolling to get a refund at which point the original bed company contacted me by MOBILE PHONE to inform me the bed would be delivered to me in a week but only 3/4 of it the main tv part of the bed will come later i excepted this well eventually it all arrived over a time of 2 weeks and once I put it together the tv lift part didn't work so contacted them and they sent me information to reset remote to lift part of bed and eventually got it sorted i paid £699 for a bed that should of been £2999 yeah right If I was to repeat this experience I would kick myself in th nuts and say wake up and smell the coffee if anyone is in the same situation and havent yet got your bed then these mobile numbers may help transport manager *******9778 and owner of the company is *******1100 dont call the landline number for them it hasn't worked in 4 months GOOD LUCK
I am left this morning feeling extemely disappointed with Groupon, I purchase alot from Groupon between both mine & my husbands account, we use many other similar companies like Wowcher, Amazon Local, 5PM & despite many years of using these various deals and companies I have NEVER had any issues whatsoever so this morning never have I been left so disgusted with poor service as I have on how my enquiry was handled by Groupon. Coco Beauty in Hamilton reneged on the appointment booked but when I called this morning and spoke with Deena I was appalled at the initial response I received which was "I cannot refund your money today" I was also advised my case would need investigated, forgive me but was I not the person who was let down, left disappointed - whats to investigate? Contact the supply - confirm the situation & refund - this can be done in a 2 minute call!
Fuming is an understatement,
I seriously suggest some customer care training, it is so easy in business to complicate issues which do not require complication I have emailed both roy blanga and joe harrow & so far have not received a response from either. Here is the reviews for the voucher i purchased - wished i read them first https://www.wahanda.com/place/coco-tanning-and-beauty-rooms/
Awful, awful, awful! I have used groupon twice and will never use again! First occassion was an offer with a cavas printing company. Getting the voucher was no trouble, however, when it came to ordering - what a shambles! The picture wouldn't upload onto the website, once this was acheived, it took the product 2 months to arrive and this was only because of many phone calls and emails to the company! People may say this isn't groupon's vault but they are using second class companies that clearly aren't equippped for the demand of groupon customers!
The second, last and recent experience, was a couple of day's ago and another canvas nightmare! Again got the code through fine but entering the code on the website is non-existance! A phone call to the company and they say give it a couple more hours - they're just uploading the codes. Two hours pass, still nothing! A phone call to groupon - the company are having issues uploading codes try in the morning. Try again in the morning and again nothing!
As I've mention before, using companies that haven't got the facilities or equipement that can cope with the demand for the short time that groupon customers use the company for. I wonder if I would have this problem if I was paying full price... I think not!
I ordered a Kids Foam ABC Puzzle Floor Mat: https://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/foam-abc-puzzle-floor-mat which was advertised saying the following;
Product Details
Can be assembled into a spacious mat
Letters from A to Z
Numbers from 0 to 9
36 interlocking pieces
Material: EVA foam
Suitable age: 3+
Dimensions
Single piece: 17cm x 17cm x 0.95cm
Assembled: 85cm x 136cm
Firstly it took much longer than stated/promised for them to actually dispatch the item, resulting in me having to prompt them, asking them where it was.
Then when they finally did send/deliver the item it was far from what they described above.
Above they have stated A-Z lettering and 0-9 numbering that accumulates to you receiving 36 Play Mat Squares. However, what i actually received was this;
Nine PLAIN, poor quality Play Mat Squares.
Yes just NINE squares without any A-Z lettering or any numbering/pattern of any description... which is far from the promised 36 pieces.
Absolutely nothing like the product described to the consumer.
From my perspective this is false advertising and therefore warrants a complaint to Trading Standards. Groupon have been pulled up on this kind of thing before on programmes like BBC Watchdog.
Whats worse is that now i have approached them about it they are being most unhelpful. They are simply repeatedly sending me a generic "How to Return an Item" email.
No offer to replace the product for the correct thing, or refund me. They expect me to make the first move here and send the product back before they return my money. I would usually say that this sounds completely fair however considering the lack of trust that they have gained with me, I'm reluctant to send back the goods before i have my money back because I'm fearful i may end up with no money and no item at all, albeit that its not the item i thought i was purchasing.
My advice is to NEVER trust these people. It doesn't take much research to find that they have falsely advertised and sold fake merchandise on a number of occasions and then have been most unhelpful and uncooperative at the point when the customer has asked for money back.
I'm disgusted with Groupon UK.
I am normally not one to leave negative comments about a company but I really feel I need to about this company as the whole experience has been a nightmare. First off the delivery is not a guaranteed date, and you only find this out after you have purchased. I put down for a specific date and then followed it up with a phone call to ask. I was guranteed by the company they use "premierdeliveries" that my name was on the list and I would definetely receive my goods on this date. I took a day off work and guess what!. No delivery. I even had put special instructions, which you are offered to do, in the fields to state: please leave around back. Went to work the next day to then come home and find a "sorry we missed you" leaflet through the mail box and that I needed to rearrange delivery to which they would charge a £9.95 fee for the privilege!. Wouldnt mind but not only did they deliver on a day that wasnt arranged, but they also ignored my instruction to leave around back!. I have now called the customer service dept and been told that I will have to wait 7 days until I get a refund. I could nt really understand the chap that was speaking to me as his accent was very strong and to which he wasnt really giving me a clear indication of why there was this 7 day period. I paid via PayPal so the credit should show on the same day!... I think I will be raising a dispute in PayPal. I wished I had read all the reviews about this company prior. Lesson learnt on that one. So if you want an efficient company who deliver when they say they are going to deliver rather than on another date, and if you are not there to receive, charge a redelivery fee each time!. Then steer away from this company.
Answer: Finally got it open, broke a steel rule and eventually had to use two clamps, hardly "easy to use"
