I haven't been unable to access my account for the past 3 weeks! This comes after a "maintenance update" after being on hold for multiple days for multiple hours a representative orders a new card telling me this will fix the problem. I pay for three day shipping. It's going on to five days now still not have received the card. I've been on hold every day for over three hours. No one picks up the phones! If want to play a guessing game of weather, do you see your funds again or speak to someone good luck I made a horrible mistake sticking by in hopes of resolving major issues….but I can't seem to get a person on the phone nor receive a email response to any of my emails spanning for three weeks!

No Service Whatsoever

I bought three $25 green dot cards for my boys and could never activate. I had to end up giving them cash for them and still cannot activate OR get any human on the line. It SUCKS. This company should not be in business.

Don't use green dot

I have had so much crap with green dot I would never recommend them to anyone they lie about how there accounts work and then just hang up on you cause they don't want to help you get it figured out... I will no longer have this bank account again... They have lost money of my held money of my and now won't even give me the cash back I made...so don't trust them at all...

Worse experience ever

First non of the call team specialists speak English second they all give you the run around then hang up. They won't fix their mistakes then put it back on you the customer. This was a terrible experience my card was locked with 2000 dollars on it my direct deposits were blocked and access denied. Never again will I use this company.

DON'T USE GREENDOT

I am trying to help an employee get his payroll money back from Green Dot. They told him his card was on fraud lock and since closed his account. Now, depending who you get on the phone its an identity issue or back to the fictitious deposits. His payroll has been deposited the same way since he has used Green Dot and has had no other deposits. We have spent hours calling to be hung up on or transferred again and again. They also say call corporate just to get a number that goes no where. How convenient to close his account so they can not do a reversal. Their English is very bad and hard to understand what they are saying as well as they have a hard time understanding us.

Green Dot's partnership with Quickbooks is beyond frustrating. The customer service at Green Dot will only read a script and refuses to provide helpful information about your account. It takes over 60 days to officially close the account if you need to which holds up so many other functions in Quickbooks. Save yourself the time and frustration and just go with a real bank!

My father had over $700 in fraudulent charges and reported a dispute 3 months ago. We mailed transaction reports with the charges highlighted along with federal work logs as proof as to where he was at the time. They immediately denied our request stating that the charges were "in person" so they were valid, despite our written proof that he was 2100 miles away from where the in persons charges were made. Our attorney also sent all of this information with no response. We never received any written response from the company and they claimed to have sent a letter on two different occasions. The customer service representative was extremely rude and said even if I spoke to a manager or supervisor that I would get the same response. This company is a scam and I would never entrust my finances with them. Please avoid at all costs!

I bought a card at the store to use, and then asked to be sent a personalized one, which they did but I didn't receive it until 3 months later. During this time they continued to bill a fee each month yet never sending a statement. I finally received the card and put 80 dollars on it to which they immediately took out 15.90 in fees. This company is horrible, customer service sucks. And good luck getting anyone to answer the phone. I was in hold for over 3 hours

They blatantly stole $540 from me ran me around for weeks customer service do not understand English, and will give you a load of bull$#*! just to get you of phone corporate headquarters blocks you and send you to India, based on what I've read they are nothing but thieves

$7.95 scam!

I was given a Green Dot prepaid visa card loaded with $20 for my birthday. After activating the card, I try to go use it at the gas station only to find out it had only $12.05. They charge you a "monthly fee" of $7.95 immediately after activation... which is then subtracted from the total balance. SCAM!

DO NOT USE THIS BANK! They will charge you to make deposits and they are not helping me fix an error they made. Now my account is $100 in the negative. I have called the help line and the chat option. No one will help me. They keep going in circles. I can't wait for the charges to go through and I can cancel my account. The worse banking system! I stayed at a hotel March 6th and paid in cash. They asked for a card to hold. I gave my green dot card. They did an authorization on it and immediately voided it. That was over a week ago. Green Dot is saying it went over my balance and they covered $90 and I owe them. I can't do anything until the 17th because it's a pending transaction. How the heck does it take that long for a transaction to go through! "They can't look at it until it's no longer pending." I have bills that wont get paid now. I can't wait to take my business elsewhere.

I posted my story many times regarding green dot corporation stealing my 161.00 As of December 21st still no refund. They sold me a card that was already registered to someone else. They let me load a 160.00 on it knowing it was registered to someone else. Now get this they put my refund on that same fraudulent card. You why because green dot are scammers. That 161.00 went in the pockets of a green dot employee. Scammers and thieves. Please everyone BOYCOTT green dot corporation. They still from their consumers. Shame on them.

On November 29th 2023. I purchased a green dot prepaid debit card for Walmart. I loaded 160.00 on it. Went home tried to activate it. I was told by a green dot customer service representative that I would need a refund because this card is already registered to someone else. I called repeatedly. I emailed the receipt that green dot requested. Still no refund. Yesterday Wednesday December 5th 2023. I was informed by green dot that they refunded my 161.00 get this to the same card that they told me was registered to someone else. They proved my point. Scammers! Why would they put my money on a card this isn't registered to me! Green dot corporation stole my 161.00. I hope everyone that sees this review BOYCOTT green dot corporation. I have reported them to the BBB

No Help What So Ever!

I recommend not banking with Green Dot. If your account is ever compromised and you file a legitimate dispute they take 10 days to tell you that the dispute was not granted. Also, forget about talking to someone directly. During two separate calls I was on hold for a total of 75 minutes. It was expensive mistake, I lost the money. I pulled my out and went to a real bank.

I had a zero balance in my Green Dot savings account for nearly 4 years. Their web site clearly states that the account would close automatically when it had a zero balance. But not only did the account remain open, they continued to charge the $7.95 monthly card fee. I wrote to them explaining all this in late 2019 or early 2020, but the monthly fees continued. I reached a customer service agent today, who assured me he had cancelled the account during our call. I hope he was telling me the truth.

Customer serves can never seem to actually fix any issues on account. When my account was taken over I spent 2 months fighting with green dot Corp to have my account balance refunded to me. They still have not refunded anything and when ever I call to get an update they sat it's "still in review" review and issuing a check for the remainder in my account was only suppose to take up to two weeks. Not sending me my money is theft. And terms to sue. Don't use this company.

I wish I had consulted this website before I purchased that green piece of crap. I am forced to use the card just to get my money back (no refund.) Of course, they took their monthly fee of $10 for doing nothing right off the bat. Moreover, customer service talks to you like you're the loser for using their card when you're the reason they have a freaking job. Such bastards... Never again.

Don't waste your Time!

I've never in my life been so frustrated! Firstly they ask for 400 different ways to verify your identity, once that's completed they change a monthly fee day 1, I wanted to use the card for a vending machine in my complex, they locked the card every 3 transactions, after 400 more security questions they would tell me they don't see the card being locked and to try again, the card would stay locked for a day or sometimes 3 days no one in customer service knew why, at the end I just left the last $11 on the card and threw it away. Trust me there are other pre paid cards that with no fees and less complications!

Scam

This company is a total scam! I got a loadable card and they activated my card confirmed the money was there I went to use the card within an hour and the card declined I called again amd got hung up on twice and then told the money was spent and there was now a zero balance on the card not to mention somehow it got registered to someone else in that time as well. This was a brand new put of the package card that only left my hands to purchase it. There was no way. Then I filed a fraud claim and they denied me and said to contact police. I did and a lawyer because this $#*! is crazy. Oh and come to find out there is more then one class action lawsuit against them.
