I was with green dot for 7+years never had an issue! Then one day I literally watched all my money get stolen! Someone hacked me took everything I had, they changed my email to my app then my password! Tried to call green dot to dispute it or stop whomever it was and it took 45 mins to even speak to someone then said it would take 10 days to hear something back after you could clearly see someone took everything and overdrafted my account! They closed my account and then the waiting started! It's now been 15 days I have not heard anything and when I call to check the status it says no dispute reported in the last 90 days and I still have not got my money back from it! There is no piece of mind! They blew me off and will try anything to not give you your money back and to top it off you'll be lucky to even speak to someone!
I lost my Green Card. Getting a replacement was a total headache. After a month I finally received the replacement card and I cannot activate it! This company is a total scam, they just want to hit you with service fees until they can't anymore. I have already incurred over $30 in fees and do not yet have access to my money! Stay away from them.
On September 12, I purchased a green dot visa card. I placed $150 on it for a family camping trip. I am on social security and I use tbe visas to reserve camp sites. I immediately activated the card but when I went to use it the card was declined. I emailed green dot 167 times...no response. I made 36 phone calls, I was hung up on 5 times, placed on hold 21 times and the other times I was told the card was already used. The company finally called me six weeks later I was told, "we are sorry there is nothing we can do. You case have been closed".
Don't use them you will get ripped off.
The last 3 times I purchased the green dot card I've been in my truck punching the steering wheel at how this company is ran. You can not get a real person on the phone and it's never a smooth activation. I had to pay a bill that was due that day and I couldn't because they didn't know what was going on with the card number that I purchased. I just bought another card and put money in it thinking it would go better this time but I cannot activate and can't get anyone in the phone I would stay far away from Green Dot pre paid cards if you want to keep your sanity.
I put 400 dollars in this account this morning got a lift ride with it they locked the card. Then wanted my ID uploaded twice I did this with my passport I was told the account was closed. And I can't use this bank anymore. Where is my 400 dollars I'll be calling a lawyer.
I was issued this card because the check cashing place didn't have funds to cover my check, after she went through the whole process of verifying. EVERYTIME you use the card they take out 1.95 for using it. They told me if I went to Walmart to get money it was free. No, it wasn't. Again, I Should've taken all the money off of the card but I didn't want to carry that much cash. I didn't know about the charge until after I looked at my account and was left with 6 dollars. So disappointed. Will never use this card again.
Took 500 from me and zeroed out my card. Been on the phone for 2 weeks

I purchased his card from CVS did everything that the car instructed me to do but card still declined when trying to reach out to customer service no answer when trying to reach someone through Google no answer I was finally able to get a hold of someone from the fraud department that implemented that they were Green Dot customer service and they told me the car have been registered and use scam. Please do not invest your money into this company. You will regret it.
When you have an issue or question with greendot...prepare yourself to be on the phone for hours at a time calling day after day. They pass you around, drop your call, and leave you hanging. Everytime I call Greendont I want to cry. My account was taken over by a thief in July and I have jumped through every hoop imaginable. It's October and I still don't have access to my money.
Worst customer service ever! I had an old card that I didn't remember buying and no longer have, and the IRS sent my money to it. I had to go to walmart and buy a card just to be able to call them. Was on hold for 2 hrs got hung up on. They sent my new card to a different address twice after verifying the correct address. I was hold from 4pm - 3 AM! Instead of even trying to make things better from their mistakes now I have to wait another 10 days to get a card I was supposed to have 7 days ago. And I am now going to loose my house because I can't pay the money in time, which is tomorrow. There is so much more that I can't fit on here, and all of this is over just a couple days. Long story short "DO NOT USE THEM!"
Google charged my card for no reason. I tried to contact Greendot and got no answer. Still on the phone waiting...
They we'll ask for personal information like social security number date of birth name and address they got me for $60 and I cannot get my money back. Don't give out personal information to companies that you don't know beware
Walmart Card support is absolutely abysmal. Longest holds I've ever had, and they hang up most of the time. Tier 2 agents take forever to answer as well.
Bought a VISA green dot card added 350.00 plus the cost of the card. Went to activate the card and it would not activate I registered the card as well still unable able to use. Called customer service for help representative was unable to help or reassure me. They just said keep trying. So sad I was taking my 6 year old to Magic mountain for his birthday and needed a debit card for transactions. I went back to Walgreens where I purchased the card and they said they could not help me. I told the representative I felt like I got scammed and want to file a report with the police station she said "you can do that if you want to."
This is the worst prepaid debit card company in the country! GREEN DOT allowed my card funds to be fraudulently depleted! 15 - $75.00 transactions in less than 5 minutes! And then refused to help or return ANY of the money! No investigation whatsoever! COMPLETE RIPOFF COMPANY! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER ENDURED! F*** THIS COMPANY AND WALMART!
Horrible. Wasted 40 hours of my life on hold. Still no results. I get some time driving and try again and same results. Zero. Quick books sucks for using them.
After WEEKS of not being able to access my money. For no apparent reason according to go2 bank, the 12th customer service person told me to go into my app, lock my card, then unlock it and wait 20 min. IT WORKED! Wish the other 11 reps knew that tip. Would've saved me hours on hold, with the worst hold music ever, a lot of tears and frustration.
I brought a green dot card and couldn't even use it had to get them to send my money that was left on the card sent to me in a check I couldn't even pay my bill out even use the card and they don't send you z new card in the mail trust they won't be getting in to Haven please believe that I will be working the gates no let's see who has the last laugh
They will hold your money hostage and make unreasonable requirements in order for you to get access to the money that you gave them in good faith. After hours on hold with customer service, I was told to send in pictures of my drivers license to proof my identity. I sent 5 emails, and each was was rejected with a form letter saying that it couldn't be read. They were each crystal clear. I'm on my 6th try and will see how this one goes. It's currently been 2 weeks that I haven't been able to get to my money.
This card is not a good one. I been with greendot for well over 10 years and many many cards had to keep being replaced because customer service never knew what they were doing. They will hang up on you if they can't figure out your problem. And there WILL BE a problem.
