I am happy that Golf Galaxy finally gave me the refund owed to me. Even though it was 9 days late they honored their responsibility and I am thankful for that. I have since changed my opinion of the company, especially of $#*!'s Sporting goods their parent company
Unorganized company don't care about customers I ordered a set of irons on Monday played extra for shipping so I could get them in two days its Thursday and they still haven't even shipped them yet why does it take so long to ship every other co. Ships same day you order. No wonder this co. Is not doing well. Order from anybody else if you want good service
Purchased a "Taylormade" Aero Burner driver from GolfSmith and the shaft broke on the first swing. Contacted Golfsmith but they refused to replace the club or to just refund the purchase. They are insisting on a lengthy warranty process to address the issue ( which doesn't really help if you want a golf club in the near-term). The shaft looks like plastic, which makes me think the club is a knockoff, and GolfSmith support has been horrendous, which make me question the company. Not really excited about waiting three or four weeks, or longer, to sort this out but just can't get any other support from the company. Never again will I buy from GolfSmith.
I purchased a Nike Covert driver from Golfsmith and the head separated from the shaft after a couple months of use. I contacted Golfsmith and they promptly issued me an RMA label for me to return the club. They received my club on June 23 and the club sat in their warehouse for 2 weeks. On July 8 they finally shipped the club to Nike who wont receive it until Monday July 13. It will be a minimum of 4 weeks before I get my club back which means I missed a 1/4 of the short Wisconsin golf season. I am highly disappointed in their customer service and there is no excuse to let an item sit in their warehouse untouched for 2 weeks. They talk a good game on the phone but have demonstrated that they don't know how to follow up. I do not recommend this company.
Note: In August, I received the repaired club from Nike (Over 30 days from when I sent it in). The repair was excellent but as stated above, the delay from GolfSmith in sending the club to Nike was the root cause of the poor customer service.
I ordered golf shoes for my husband on March 9. On May 19 I called them, since the order hadn't shipped. They had farmed out the order to the manufacturer, and the manufacturer had cancelled the order because the product wasn't available. No one bothered to tell me this until I called.
In Florida on vacation, wanted to get a new driver. Associate that was assigned to help me seemed to have cared less about being there. Kept talking on phone while I was trying out clubs on simulator and left me several times. I should have just left, but ended up telling him I wanted a Pi g G25 w 10.5 loft. He came back and said that they were out and I should take the 9.5 and he would adjust it to a 10, I wouldn't notice any difference. I ended up taking it believing him. He was now busy with someone else and wouldn't take time for me to hit thus club. Went to a driving range next day and hit it a few times, and didn't like the club. Couldn't make it back to this store, but they told me a store near home cold work with me on getting the club I wanted. Called the Louisville store and they are refusing to work w me on this, said its now a used club, so I'm out $300 on a club I don't like and all they will do is say they are sorry for the way I was treated.
The company got too big.
The service sucks over there now.

I ordered a golf bag from golf galaxy's web site. The order took 5 days to ship. When the order arrived, I opened the package to discover that they had sent a chipping net instead of my golf bag. Upon calling customer service, I learned that I had to take the package to a UPS store to ship it back. I'm still waiting to receive my golf bag.
Great site, they are always running great shipping deals and they often have good sales. I would recommend going to the store if there is one in your town as they match all prices including on-line only stores like TGW.com.

I have had a Golfsmith.com account for quite a while now. They aren't always the cheapest but I do have to say they have A+ customer service. Free shipping on most orders, and a great tracking module. I especially like to shop their clearance and close-out area, sometimes you can hit some really cool stuff at a nice price.
If you're interested in club-making this is the place to go. They have an entire division devoted to instruction, equipment and supplies so that you can do your own club building, re-gripping and stuff like that.
PS-Their best deals are at the end of summer season in the fall.
