Don't sign up for a platinum fitting. It's $300 and includes a 30-minute lesson, but none of that money goes toward the cost of clubs like a regular fitting. On top of that, local golf courses usually offer packages of 6 30-minute lessons for around $100, so there's not really anything to justify the extra cost.
My experience with the $100 club fitting was terrible. The club fitter only set up two clubs for me to compare and I hit about 10 balls with each. The one hour fitting took less than thirty minutes to look at the club selection and hit in the simulator. I mentioned that TaylorMade offers a military discount of 15%. The guy told me that TaylorMade doesn't do that and seemed upset that I even mentioned it. He later told me that he talked to the manager and they would not match the price with the military discount. This guy couldn't have done any less work during the thirty minute fitting. I went home and ordered my new iron set directly from the TaylorMade website with a 15% discount. I wish I wouldn't have wasted the $100 at Golf Galaxy first. I'm very grateful that TaylorMade does this and I'll gladly support any business that supports our military.
Plenty of staff but no one cares if you're there or not. They like to chat with each other. Had $1500 to spend on clubs but the people don't ask what you want or are interested in. Save your time and go anywhere else.
I found out today that Golf Galaxy will not honor a $250 gift card my wife bought me several years ago. The GC was with Golf Smith who Galaxy purchased. So they purchased my $250 in the deal but won't redeem it now.
I will not buy from Golf Galaxy in the future. I suggest you do the same.
I have spent over $4,000 at the Portland, OR Golf Galaxy in the past year between myself and 3 sons. Yesterday, I went to get a used driver for my 14 year old. We asked Richard there if he could hit this Maverik driver a couple of times, and he said no problem. As we walked onto the turf another associate Lance came and told us they only have 1 left handed lane and to make sure he only hits 3-4 balls. I told him that was the plan. After hitting this club there was only one other left handed driver that they had in stock and we asked if he could hit the Ping one as well. I was told no by Lance that if we wanted to do that, that we needed to schedule a fitting. I told him we are looking to buy a club today, and that he only wants to swing the other one 3-4 times. He agin said no and that it's policy. He was very aggressive towards us and followed us around the store as I looked for the manager Brad.
I asked for Brad and explained the situation to him. I told him that we are not there to try 5-6 different clubs, and that they only had 2 drivers to choose from in left handed drivers. He had no problem with my son trying out the 2nd driver.
After doing the survey online with how my visit was I get a call from Brad at the store wondering why I had complained on the survey. He says that it must of been a mis communication between Lance and I, and he thought that I wanted to try out 5-6 clubs! Lance is an absolute liar, very rude, and very aggressive to customers. Sure hope that something is done about this employee of yours.
Very sad because I have only had great experiences working with Richard and Steve there with multiple fittings and questions we have had.
I had a great fitting at the Ft. Myers, FL store on July 19th, 2021, so I decided to go with it and order a new set of Callaway irons, driver, 3-wood, and wedge in the neighborhood for $1500. I was told 4-5 weeks they would be ready and at the store. After 5 weeks I called and spoke with someone who called Callaway and suddenly it was 8-10 weeks. With the pandemic, of course, I understood the delay but I was frustrated that no one called me to give me an update. He said that the good news was that my two hybrids could be there the next week. My hybrids arrived that next Tuesday, but again NO ONE CALLED to let me know that they were there, so I called that Friday to see if they came to the store. Not surprisingly, they were there. This guy said he was sorry for no call and couldn't give me a reason why. When I went to the store the next day to pick up the clubs, I asked how would I know I had something to pick up if no one calls me? He said, well it says here, your phone was disconnected. I was shocked! Don't you think the first guy would have said the same thing when I called to check on my clubs (from the same said phone that was disconnected)? Unbelievable! It has been 8 weeks now and I still don't have my clubs. I am going to call them today of course, because for all I know they have been sitting at the store waiting for me. My advice, maybe pay for the fitting here and shop elsewhere. Actually, go to other stores and shops first and look here last on your list. It is not worth the deplorable customer service.
Visiting San Diego for a convention I went there on Friday afternoon, around 5.30 or so. I called them ahead of time and asked if I could do club fitting before closing time, to bring with me tomorrow to New York.
The place was empty. The receiving employee was about 65, maybe older. He was not particularly pleasant or welcoming, and with a rather brisk attitude brought me to the box for club fitting. I started with the driver and he could not get the screen and computer system to work. After 20 balls and 7 rebooting he decided to change and we went in the nearby box. Same story, he could not get the damn thing to work and a younger guys wasn't very helpful either. Then after I shot another dozen balls I decided it was not my day for club fitting. From the convention center it was a total of about $35 in Uber and almost 1h and half time. What a waste of time and money, there should be a reimbursement in these circumstances. Don't go.
Pre ordered a putter on 7/20 on 8/24 was sent a e mail saying my order was cancelled giving no time to find another. Customer service was a joke and could not give a valid reason why it was cancelled. No longer a customer!
I went in to the store not being able to hit my irons. I mean i even sliced a 9 iron. Ken Kapcia (Grand Rapids PGA Teaching Pro) had me hitting my 7 iron 145 yards dead straight within 15 minutes. I can only imagine what i can do with his practice tips after a week. Great teacher. I can't recommend highly enough.
Thanks Ken!
Golf Galaxy rates a ZERO out of 5 stars in Customer Service. My son spent $1600 on irons and was told that he would have them in 6-8 weeks. It has been over 15 weeks and of course they are blaming Titleist. I understand that they cannot control the production of clubs by the manufacturer, but what they can control is someone updating the customer with status. We have had to call them multiple times and keep getting new "drop dead dates." Clearly the SPRINGDALE, OHIO location does not care ONE OUNCE about retaining customers. I will make sure that no one I know shops here...
Went in for a custom iron fitting. The fitter was a bored teenager who spent more time talking to his co-worker than working with me. Ordered a set of new irons and was told they would arrive in about 2 week. 3 weeks later I went in to check on the status of my irons. They said expected shipping was two months from now. I told them I wanted to cancel the order (I can get them in a few days from TGW). The guy helping me made a big deal out what a pain it was to cancel my order. He took care of it for me and instead of saying "thank you, or "we're sorry it didn't work, or something he simply slid me the receipt and said "you're good." I said "Thank you" and he did not respond. As I walked away I said again, "No, really thank you." He mumbled "you're welcome, clearly irritated that he had to deal with me. I will never shop there for anything again. I can just as easily get what I need on line.
@golfgalaxy
very disappointing customer service for online orders at golf galaxy. #golfgalaxy order is going to take 4 days to arrive so when I call an hour after the order is placed, I am told it cannot be cancelled. Unacceptable service on chat and phone...
Was discriminated against - Place is a joke - Went in with thousands to spend on clubs and they told me to go to a second hand store due to how I looked.
DO NOT SHOP HERE!
Long time customer tried to exchange a pair of golf gloves but I did not have sales slip.
Gloves were still in a sealed package and the clerk acknowledge they were from GG.
Still, they did not allow the exchange.
I'm done with them.
Awful customer service, even at the corporate offices!
Don't even waste your time going there. People make the difference!
They have the right name for their stores... $#*!s!
How much effort to simply ask customers " HOW MAY I HELP YOU"?
Very little help and no effort to make a sale.
I was totally dissatisfied with a recent purchase of a custom made golf club. First, customer service was unable to connect me with the department so I could check on the status of this custom order so I had to go there in person. Secondly after waiting close to an hour they told me the order had not been shipped because the custom grip would not be available until July. So, we cancelled the custom grip and asked them to send just the shaft and grip. Returned today to check on the order and the same person who serviced me seemed totally unaware or had no record of the request we made 3 days ago.
I canceled the order as I lost all faith in them.
Horrible. I felt I was getting held up some guy looking at me what r u here for. Not may I help you. I looked at him twice and could not believe what I was seeing. 10 years ago I would have knocked him on his $#*!
Been nearly 30-days and still don't have1 of 4 clubs, yet they charged me for the entire order. No follow up to my five phone calls. Keep saying they need to contact Callaway. Never order from Golf Galaxy!
Worst service ever. Never will go back. Bored personnel. Made me wait. Seemed to do it on purpose. Many other good stores.
