I purchased tickets through Goldstar last month to see Bernadette Peters in Pasadena. Upon receipt of the tickets I noticed they were much further back then the seating chart on the Goldstar website indicated. I notified their customer service and they confirmed the seating chart was wrong but stood by the seats assigned were correct because they were what had been intended to be sold. Several days later I checked their website and they were still falsely advertising the location of the tickets. As this was in essence a bait and switch I asked that my assigned seats be changed closer to the original section I was led to believe I was purchasing, which I had confirmed on Ticketmaster were available, or to refund my order. They did neither and stopped responding to my emails. I would not use their service but if you do, be sure what you were sold is what you bought.
Thought this was a discount ticket website. I bought two tickets from the site for $80 total and went to the theater to pick up the tickets at will call and the printed price on the ticket was $8 less per ticket. I emailed Goldstar to ask for a courtesy credit towards my next purchase and they denied it. Really disappointed in their customer service.
Their website says "Get access to big savings with Goldstar-member exclusives like Rush and Roulette" and the owners statement "providing responsive service, offering more event choices, delivering great value, sending reminders of upcoming events, following up after the event to make sure things went well, and always looking for a way to help, to say yes, to remove the barriers to our members getting out of their homes and into venues to see great show"
What a bunch of hot air - BS!. Thanks for ripping me off Goldstar.
Terrible seats, terrible acoustics, obstructed view.
Paid for orchestra seats section B based on a seating chart from the theatre's website that differed from GoldStars. I was given the back of house seats which are terrible. Contacted customer service in advance to get the seats changed or refunded. Madeleine was no help at all.
Goldstar Events: You get what we give you, not what you paid for...which is why I'll be using another ticket service moving forward
Purchased a St Patrick's Day cruise and on the boat purchased drinks for $18 each which was high but doable but when we went to sit down, we're told we would have to pay $150 to sit. So we asked if there was anywhere we could sit during the 3.5 hour cruise and the girl apologized saying it would be even more upstairs. So we went to the second deck to find there was a tiny corner we could lean on but would have been frozen solid after standing there and the fact we couldn't sit down at any point had us exit the cruise before departure. We spoke to the manager and he was not at all interested saying, "why will you want to sit, you will wanna dance". There was no mention of that. So not only did we lose what we paid but it cost us a fortune for the taxi to and from and the cocktails we threw away to get off the boat before departure. Will never buy from Goldstar again.
The terms and conditions of the vouchers I got off this site are horrible. I got the Newport Landing's Holiday Cruises vouchers, where I have to reserve my spot with the cruise company.
Although I paid for the peak hour tickets, they only let me choose from either 6 PM or 7:30 PM, 2 out of (around) 12 time slots available per night.
Since these are peak hours, they are always sold out, making it impossible for me to redeem them. I finally gave up and bought another set of vouchers from Groupon, which cost the same but with better terms and conditions (5-8:30 PM).
I have to assume the cruise provider (Davey's Locker Sportfishing) and Goldstar purposely make it impossible for buyers to redeem these vouchers.
I saw EINSTEIN at the Santa Monica Playhouse recently and it was one of the best performances I have ever seen on stage. Jack Fry's was extraordinary as Einstein.
I was riveted throughout the entire performance and will most definitely see it again.

They don't support the arts. They take your money at "discounted" rates only to slap on a multitude of fees that end up costing more than the ticket itself. They offer no refunds or changes so you're forced to lose out on money if you simply can't attend the event. They don't have a customer service phone number (RED FLAG) and seldom respond to email inquiries and questions. The customer service is horrible, the fees are horrible, their policies are horrible. They aren't supporting the arts, they're ripping off the arts.
I purchased two Riverdance tickets for the Fox theatre in Atlanta. They should inform customers this is limited view tickets Before they purchase not afterwards. This is not ethical. I have purchases many tickets from them before and this is the first time they mislead me. You can certainly sell limited view tickets but you should be upfront about this.
I spent $139 on tickets for a Christmas event on December 24th, 2022 to Enchant in Scottsdale, AZ. When I got there my QR code was invalid and the vendor was unable to find my order by searching the name, email, or confirmation number of my ticket order. I then had to spend another $115 at the vendor site for brand new tickets in order to get into the event. Very disappointing to get scammed when trying to create some Christmas magic for my young kids.
I wrote in asking if we could be credited for 2 tickets as two of our party had COVID, I was told Goldstar would have to contact the venue. Next email I receive is that all of our tickets have been cancelled. Support admitted they had made a mistake but I can never use them again given this egregious error and shouldn't have happened.
I placed an order for a voice over course that did not take place at all. I contacted the company that did the orginal post but no one answered and sometimes someone would pick up the phone but say nothing. I finally got fed up and emailed Goldstar who still hasn't responded to my complaint and all I want is a refund for services that was never rendered. Strong advice to anyone, stick with groupon because at least you know the services on their site is real and you can speak to a live person if needed.
Goldstar is a great resource for discounts to local events, shows, tours, you name it. Tickets on Goldstar are usually much cheaper than normal prices. I also think the website itself is well done... it's easy to use, straightforward, and well-designed. Love it~
Customer service rep was rude and people there don't put their customers first. Plus a service fee on top of the "discounted" ticket? It's better off buying through another source! No more business for them!
Hi Jay! I'm sorry to hear you had such a negative experience. We would like the opportunity to make this right for you. Please let me know about the situation that prompted your review, and I would be happy to see what we can do to turn your experience with Goldstar around.
Thanks!

Red Velvet easy cancel is no longer easy.
App says easy cancel available but it triggers error message.
Emailing customary service goes back and forth without actions till deadline is reached.
No telephone number available to cut through the BS.
Goldstar used to be much better.
Losing money or getting greedy?
Buy tickets from your venue direct and know where you are sitting.
I purchased tickets advertised as $14 each, they ended up being $17 without any explanation. Then two of my guests were unable to attend and they did not let us reschedule the reservation for the next day, even though that event had tickets available for the same price and it had only been an hour since I purchased the tickets. Ripped out of $80, should have just bought them through the company instead of this third party mess.
Folks beware. Purchased 2 tickets online with CC to Hairspray performance in San Diego for 11/16/21. When I attempted to access tickets prior to the performance, there was no record of purchase either on Goldstar or Ticketmaster. Could not contact customer service by phone and am still waiting for an E-mail response. I have already filed a dispute with my CC. We will see if I can get a refund. I have wasted so much time and effort and have yet to see any refund. Absolutely unacceptable! Caveat Emptor!
Hi there- Did you reach out to Goldstar Customer Service at help@goldstar.com or by replying to any of the emails you received upon completing your purchase or by using the Contact Us page at https://www.goldstar.com/help? Our customer service team is very responsive by email. Thanks.
I'm still b waiting, it's been 2 weeks for a refund on a cancelled by the venue refund. I just want the money refunded to my account. This is taking easy too long. There's no phone number to call them. I'll never go thru them again.
Like the one star says Doesn't get any worse than this. Bought tickets on Groupon- Called venue and was assured seating was available where one could eat. Arrived- not the case. Venue apologized for mistake, ok no big deal. Emailed Goldstar right away- as in half an hour after we had left, and just asked for the ticket price to be refunded. Was told that plenty of seating in sight lines was available- which may be, however when we were there, it was reserved. As i asked the person seating us- reserved. But not for me. Right? And yes. Reserved. But not for me.
Anyways-This is actually the first review I have ever made.
While Goldstar has a no refund policy, it is clearly stated refunds can be made if something is out of the users control. Well that happened. I contacted Goldstar and no consideration for this was made. Requested to speak with a manager, and my request ignored. First and last time using. $50.00 lost.
Groupon has a two people $55 deal NO SERVICE FEES!
I should have just booked with the web site!
I don't see any reason to use the site in the future...
$6.50 service fee... Wow that's a lot of $$$ for a $27 ticket!
Hi there! The service fees we charge are the only we make from your transaction. The rest of the ticket price goes directly back to our ticket supplier partners. We do have to charge service fees in order to run our business and bring the deals on our site to our members. We try to keep them as low as we can and match them to the offers appropriately. If you would like more information about how the service fees are calculated, please feel free to contact me at help@goldstar.com.
Best,
Lisa
