Like the one star says Doesn't get any worse than this. Bought tickets on Groupon- Called venue and was assured seating was available where one could eat. Arrived- not the case. Venue apologized for mistake, ok no big deal. Emailed Goldstar right away- as in half an hour after we had left, and just asked for the ticket price to be refunded. Was told that plenty of seating in sight lines was available- which may be, however when we were there, it was reserved. As i asked the person seating us- reserved. But not for me. Right? And yes. Reserved. But not for me.
Anyways-This is actually the first review I have ever made.
While Goldstar has a no refund policy, it is clearly stated refunds can be made if something is out of the users control. Well that happened. I contacted Goldstar and no consideration for this was made. Requested to speak with a manager, and my request ignored. First and last time using. $50.00 lost.
Groupon has a two people $55 deal NO SERVICE FEES!
I should have just booked with the web site!
I don't see any reason to use the site in the future...
$6.50 service fee... Wow that's a lot of $$$ for a $27 ticket!
A friend of mine told me about this site so I thought I would give it a look-see. They didn't have my venue, city or performer I was looking for. Pretty big name too so I was surprised. Some people might get a good deal, but I didn't even find my event so that was disappointing.

This is probably the first and last time I'll use Goldstar... I have been using others such as Groupon, Living Social and Amazon Local Deals and refund policy have been very clear and specific compared to Goldstar.
**Updating my rating as Goldstar rectified my issue. Specific refund policy is still needed for each event.

"Refund Policy: All purchases are final unless the event or service is cancelled by the ticket supplier or service provider."
We have some flexibility when it comes to cancellations/exchanges for will-call events. However, for events for which vouchers or e-tickets are sent to you immediately after the transaction is complete, all sales are considered final, as the vouchers/e-tickets are in your possession at that point and cannot be canceled. Usually when I tried to buy tickets on the app it takes multiple attempts before I'm able to complete a purchase. There always seems to be some step in the process that doesn't work. There's no customer service number and the email response time is very slow
My husband and I are always traipsing into Manhattan in search of adventures -- and Goldstar has a lot 'em lined up at deep discounts - plays, cruises, museum passes, etc. Once your account is set up, the ticket ordering process is fast and painless... and on only one occasion, we got "stood up" for a walking tour... but after emailing Goldstar, a credit was swiftly approved. The site is a really good deal

Saw their ad for Monet tickets in Chicago for $23.99 per ticket for Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through September 25,2022. Paid that plus $4 per ticket but only received discount codes and no tickets. Then I had to pay more to get the actual tickets... a total of $51.97 per ticket. What a scam!
Do not use them! Totally deceptive... hoping to help people avoid this company...
They lie about pre show cancellations. Site specifically says the don't believe you should loose your money if your plans change. But they lied. I emailed them hours before a show when my wife got sick and they didn't email me back until after the show started and said too bad.
Purchased tickets for the Daytime cruise and got there only to be told it was oversold so we would not be able to get on. I requested a refund and got the run around. Several emails responses always from a different person.
They made it seem like they were waiting on the Marina people to issue the refund but I spoke with the company rep and they told me Goldstar collected the money and therefore are responsible for the refund. Also we never used the tickets so only Goldstar got paid.
Still waiting on my refund. I've read some good reviews but I don't know if they are legit. BE CAREFUL!
Be very careful purchasing anything on this site they don't care about valued customers they just want to take your money. I'm taking my business to Groupon.
I was worried because of negative reviews but I had no trouble. After purchasing on Goldstar, the email with my voucher instructions came immediately and gave instructions to enter a coupon code during checkout on the venue's website. It took me all of 10 minutes total to complete those steps and print my tickets.
I am a frequent user of Goldstar.com's service. Goldstar let's me know about some really great arts, culture, and music events around town. I especially like their Red Velvet service that allows you to cancel events that you have bought, almost to the last minute. This is great because my busy and sometimes unpredictable work schedule often results in my not being able to attend an event. I used to have to "eat" the tickets but with Goldstar's Red Velvet service, I almost always am able to get a refund. This is a huge convenience and keeps me coming back.

We are going to an event with our elderly parents and the seating is general admission. I asked Goldstar Customer Service if they could help in getting seats near the aisle or not many stair steps. They called the venue and were able to get seats near the aisle and that we could all seat together. I felt very well cared for! Thank you so much Goldstar Customer Service. Plus Goldstar has great deals to such a great variety of venues!
In the old days, one went to Union Square (or Times Square) for discount theater tickets. Goldstar has ended that for the better. They highlight a great range of arts events (and sporting and other events, too). With their discounts, I'm willing to check out a play or music new that I might be on the fence about... and I've enjoyed some great companies and events I would have missed. And their website is super easy to use.

I take my mom to events. She is in a motorized scooter. She can walk, but not long distances. Goldstar has always accommodated her needs. My emails are always answered promptly and even when I make a mistake, they rectify it.

I used Goldstar events. The customer service is horrible. Buyer beware of the return policy. There is none yet they will not refund your money! No matter how much time you give them in advance. I bought Circus tickets and they had time to change the name at the venue but not enough time to request a refund. I find that just a little contradictory.
Hi Humanna! We have more flexibility in terms of refunds/credits and exchanges for some events than we do others. If e-tickets or vouchers are issued right after purchase, then those sales are considered final because members have those tickets in hand immediately. We have more flexibility for will-call events if the will-call list hasn't yet been sent to the box office for ticketing. In those cases, we can cancel orders or make exchanges freely. Once the will-list is in their hands, then we are required to pay them for all tickets sold for the show, even if those tickets go unused. We can often send name change requests at that point and some ticket suppliers will allow for exchanges. We do understand that unforeseen circumstances arise, and we always do what we can to assist in those situations.

When in the process of ordering tickets, I saw Chicago, but I must have clicked on NY. I merrily went through the process of ordering never noticing the theater. I was totally red faced when I read the confirmation and saw the error. I immediately notified Goldstar and although initially they were not sure what they could do, they acted on my behalf and the tickets were taken off my credit card. While the ability to obtain tickets at a great price is the initial reason for using Goldstar it was great to have someone who could act as an advocate when you had a problem. This courtesy will keep me a customer forever. Thanks.

This is the second time we have purchased theater tickets from GoldStar and there won't be a third. What may seem like a discounted price is because you get side seating/obstructive view seats. Since you can see or select the seats before you purchase, you're stuck with what they give you. In these days of COVID, we found everyone in our row had purchased from GoldStar and were upset that we were shoulder to shoulder. Fortunately the theater manager found other seats. Won't trust GoldStar again.
Unfortunately I read the reviews after my bait and switch experience with gold star. I was charged fees per ticket which would have originally been $73.50 for 3 tickets now at $90.75. That would have been more than if I had bought the tickets myself at the events.
One of my friends could not attend that I asked for a refund for one ticket but was denied.
Here's my bad review and I contacted my card member services to cancel payments and write complaint.
