TERRIBLE! Charged twice and no box, no customer service number works. I so that Consumer Reports rated it their favorite cosmetic box, I'll be calling them next. Terrible take 48 hours to get a response BY email. I am in the process of canceling subscription. Hopefully I can get a refund.
I wasn't happy with my usual beauty subscription box so I decided to try glossy box. I received three months of boxes and was extremely disappointed. The products I received are things I don't normally use and I felt like I was throwing money down the drain. I cancelled my subscription last month. Then this month I received an alert that I was charged for another month. I contacted their customer service through the message app. That representative said they would send my issue to a higher up and would make sure it would be cancelled and I would no longer be charged. Before using the messenger app, I had sent an email regarding the cancellation issue. First the representative offered me a refund for the last charge if I agreed to continue the subscription. After responding that I would like to continue the cancellation, the representative told me they could not cancel my subscription because it was already past the cut off point. Luckily I had taken a screen shot of the confirmation from their page to verify the cancellation. I don't have much faith they will follow through with the cancellation so I cancelled my automatic payment just in case. Please don't waste your time or money on this business.
I've tried multiple subscriptions and Glossybox is the worst. The products aren't worth the price, which is fine, I was just trying it out. However, it's impossible to cancel your subscription. I actually had to replace my card for the account it's on because they refused to stop billing me.
Just received my first box. This is very late, which is totally understandable given the circumstances. However, the products inside are dismal! One is broken, one is expired and the final three can be bought online for a total of seven pounds! Their claim that the box is worth over £50s beggars belief!
I had a certificate I bought from Rue la la for 6 months. They messed up my orders and charged my card and the certificate, took weeks to fix. The items sent were worthless, ugly colors I will not use and repeat products that do the same thing, not to mention tiny... my subscription finally stopped and I was happy its over. Now they charge my credit card for an other 6 months subscription without my authorization. When I tried calling there is no customer service, only email and they answered that by getting the first 6 moths I have authorized them to continue unless I cancel. I did not know that and will contest with my card. What a ripoff they now charged me for an other 6 months.
They will auto renew your subscription - no notice it's up for renewal - and charge your card $222 without warning. IF you don't catch this in time they WILL NOT refund your money back. So if you want to do business with them, do so with this warning. They will charge your card every year! And their customer service line is non-existent - no one answers.
My 3-month subscription renewed itself without my knowledge so I made sure to cancel it for the next round... only to have Glossybox renew it automatically. Their response to my email was that I hadn't cancelled in time so they had every right to renew the 3-month subscription and charge me $58.50. They declared the issue 'resolved', I said that it was not resolved. Their response to that: "The matter is resolved." Are you kidding me? What crappy service. Be aware that when you order a subscription with a set time limit, it just means that they'll keep renewing it. Look forward to this company failing.
I ordered it in Jan, product didn't come in February. I called, they told me they would send it out. THey never did. I called twice and was on hold for over 45 minutes both times with no answer. I am planning to contact my credit card and the BBB.
Do not get roped in, not worth the money and a HUGE scam!
First: the boxes are awful, not full sized as they say and usually the products are not good and you give them away (or try too). Any product that comes in color( eye, lip, nail) are always the worst colors that get tossed in the trash.
Second: They rope you in to automatic renewal and literally impossible to cancel and get your money back. According to their horrific customer service when you sign up there is an apparent contract you sign that sucks you into to automatic renewal. Biggest scam save your money and go to Birch Box
I bought two christmas boxes that never came, when I asked where my order was I was told it was cancelled due to the fact they oversold the boxes, I was a member for many years and they told me how to cancel because they would do nothing to make it right! They owe me my december box that I have not gotten! I think I will have to have my bank go after them so I can get my money back! Such a shame they have really gone down
I have been a subscriber for a while. I like their boxes, but if you ever have an issue and want to talk to someone... there is nobody available. They won't allow you to ever redeem your glossydots. They email you a response after a month and tell you to call them about the issue, but NOBODY works the phones. Their phone message asks you to email them. So utterly ridiculous. I hope they don't automatically renew my subscription, because you probably can't ever talk to anyone to halt your renewals!
A recent promotion for a 3 month subscription is set to a hidden automatic renewal opt-in. You only find out once they have billed you and it is a renewal for the original subscription period, not a monthly basis. It cannot be cancelled. This is essentially dishonest marketing and the fact that there is a refusal on the part of the company to cancel the subscription or even PART of the subscription suggests that that this company isn't too concerned with its customers. It is quite frustrating to deal
With customer service whose only response is to communicate prewritten emails. Would suggest avoiding this particular subscription box, there are too many other options out there to deal with this grief.
I've received Glossybox subscriptions for four months now and have enjoyed most of the products. The products are always worth more than the monthly subscription price. The few I knew I wouldn't use I gave away. The only complete miss was an orange lipstick I received. Who wears orange lipstick anyway. A couple of the products are so good I ordered more.
Cancelled after a couple months because it was all deluxe and sample sized skin care, hardly any makeup, not worth the price at all. Card got charged another 2 times after canceling, I had the cancel email, still couldn't get a refund. Terrible customer service, fraudulent charges, bad products. Check them out on BBB, or consumer affairs - lots of similar issues. No one even reviews these boxes anymore because they're so bad.
I was a huge fan of glossybox in the U. S for all of 2015 and for a few months in 2016. Starting in April glossybox started to ship their boxes unsealed, in unsealed shipping containers, containing unsealed products. The items can easily be tampered with or sampled before they arrive to my address. I have contacted glossybox and they will not seal the boxes any longer. I guess shipping tape is to costly to invest in.
Glossybox offered me a complete replacement but the replacements also came unsealed and were not tamper resistant. I sadly canceled my subscription because I can not justify paying for items I am to uncomfortable to use due to the lack of any tamperproof seals.
I had glossybox for about about 6 months and then I cancelled and but they continued to charge my account for months. I had to call my bank to make it so they couldn't access my checking account. Totally corrupt company. And don't even try to call their customer service number because nobody is there to answer it.
I cancelled my one-month subscription on 7/14, but was charged again a couple weeks later. When I sent them a message, I was told that when you cancel, the following month will be your last box. I sent them a copy of their own policy that says you need to cancel by the 14th to prevent getting charged for the next month. They completely ignored that and wouldn't refund me. At that point I told them I would do a dispute with my credit card company. They replied that if I did that not only could I not place any more orders, they couldn't refund me either. They asked if I wanted them to escalate the issue to a manager. Except they locked me out of my account and you can only send messages after logging in.
I've been a glossybox customer for over 3 years. Although I have started to tire of the products they send, I've continued with the subscription (mainly because they bill my credit card annually without notification and by the time I realize it, it's more hassle to try and cancel).
The last shipment arrived and it was a total mess. It included an eyeshadow palette that broke and left glitter eyeshadow powder on everything. I snapped a picture of it before tossing the entire contents and forwarded this to their customer service. It took days for a response and when I did receive one all they could say is that they are working on replacements from the manufacturer. It was obvious that I wasn't the only one affected. Almost 1 month later and still no response. I am contacting them to cancel my membership immediately and refund me the months remaining. There's so many subscription services out there but their attitude suggests that they believe they're the only one. That may have been the case when they first started but it isn't any longer.
I have ordered two "special edition" boxes, and have had issues with shipping where they were returned to sender because GLOSSY BOX did not but an apartment number on the shipping details to the forwarder, so when they attempted to deliver and saw there was no "apartment number" the boxes were sent back to sender.
I have complained on their website about this on both occasions (last November, and recently this April) showing them that I personally filled out the address correctly on my order, THEY however, failed and didn't enter the full address. Both were gifts for family members. They NEVER advised how this happened or what the extent of their investigation was. Just offered to credit my money back and give me a $5 coupon for the inconvenience, so I will NEVER order from them again.
So you think you can "try" a box or two and see if you like it? Forget it, you are roped into a 12-month subscription no matter how you try to cancel it. And I haven't even received any boxes yet! It's impossible to cancel - EVEN BEFORE THE FIRST BOX SHIPS! I changed my credit card, screw this robbery.
Answer: No! Products from Glossybox are not worth the money. Most products are deluxe samples, which is fine if they did not claim otherwise, as well as if the monthly price reflected deluxe sample prices. From my experience, Glossybox tended to include a lot of deluxe samples of hair products, individual sheet masks, nail polish, usually full size, and items of this nature. Very little makeup products other than eyeliners. The products are not unique as is with other companies offering the same subscription services.
Answer: Glossybox list price for the full sized item on their information card, Birchbox does the same thing. Ive only ever been able to get replies from Glossybox on their social media accounts.
Answer: How I got them to answer is I used the review section and copy and pasted my issue on every review and told them I would keep giving lousy reviews until they resolved my issue. That worked, and they did
