I purchased a single Glossybox and a three month subscription for a Mother's Day gift in early May. It is now early July and NOTHING has been sent although they have taken my money pretty quickly. This company is a complete SCAM. DO NOT use them.
Last month I thought I would try this service, I picked a 1 month offer and joined on the 12th, thought I would try it out and if I liked it take one of the other offers. I did not see anywhere anything about auto renew. I got the box and was underwhelmed so did not
Reorder.
Today I got notice from paypal I had been charged again. I immediately sent an email I did not want any more product. Several hours later I got a notice it had shipped. I found a number to call and spoke to "Jessica" no last name who said
It automatically auto renews, they do not accept returns and I had no choice but to
Keep the box when it gets hear. If I had wanted to cancel I would have had to call
By the 14th of the previous month.
Hard to do when I did not know a single month request auto renewed without notice and I had not even gotten the product I ordered on the 12th!
Jessica spoke like a robot and kept saying I had no option but to pay, they auto- renew everything.
BEWARE this is a ripoff!
Do not order from these guys. Their customer service takes WEEKS to get back to you, they put you on auyochaege and will not forward boxes to new addresses. Additionally, I'd recommend IPSY. Their follow up is fantastic, they've replaced shipments lost in the mail
And they follow up with you. NO GLOSSYBOX
I ordered their box of samples January 9th and began the wait for shipping. The box was intended for January, and they sent an email around January 15th warning that they were behind due to weather but all orders would ship by January 21st. January 21st came and went with no indication from the company as to when products would ship. I finally recieved a shipping notice on January 30th, and the tracking number shows that the shipping company received the package on the 31st. I wish the company had been more forthcoming about details of this and had offered a refund option, because products intended for the cold of January may not be as relevant to me when they arrive mid February when it is warming up where I live.
I signed up on their three-month promotional price offer, and they charged my card twice within four days... and sent me the prior month's box and within days the current month's box. I guess their promos are how they clear out old merchandise. I received a lip gloss tube that was so sticky it seemed like outdated product. Most of the products were sample sizes and only one was was they call something like a "deluxe" sample. The others were the size a dept. store cosmetics counter would give you for free. In fact, most dept. store cosmetic companies give better samples. I've already cancelled and am fearing I'll have to fight them as so many others here have had to. I regret I didn't do more research on them before giving them my money. Oh, they advertise what they call "spoilers" on the upcoming boxes. These are usually something really desireable. In both boxes I've received so far, I did not get the nice items. At first I thought it was because I signed up at a promotional price but on another website a subscriber who paid full price for a full year sub complained she didn't get the nicer products either. So they lead you on and then don't deliver. Nice idea for a business but this business is unscrupulous.
Awful. The boxes get progressively worse, I immediaely binned the last few. WARNING, all subscriptions come with an AUTO RENEWAL, no matter how poor the boxes are or if you're too late cancelling the auto renewal, you will be charged for the full subscription. Customer services will NOT help you with any issues... AVOID at all costs!
I have been a subscriber for over two years and have gifted it to friends and family for various occasions. This month an item was broken and their website and product card both stated "7 items in every box," and I only got 5. After 2 weeks I got an email back saying they will replace the broken item and telling me there was a miscommunication in regards to the product card and then listed the six items their system said I received. After taking to social media they emailed me back saying they would replace the item the system said I was sent but I said I didn't receive but everyone was only getting 6 items. As Facebook was the only way they were taking notice I posted a screenshot from the website promising 7 items in each box and asked if they were going to address the false advertising. Instead of a response, they blocked me to hide all of my comments and reviews and prevent me from leaving any other review which by the way is illegal as I am a customer.
I warn everyone to stay away from this company. Yes, the items are nice but when you have an issue as I did, and yes I did say WHEN, they will dismiss your concerns completely while keeping your money. I filed with the FTC and I suggest anyone that has had a similar experience do the same.
I purchased a years worth of Glossybox. Why? Because I had a 15% off promo code. Instead of getting it for $21/month it boils down to about $15/month. The products use to be 3-4 full sized items and 1 deluxe. However, it has changed quite a bit, it is exclusively deluxe items with 1-2 full sized items thrown in here and there (full sized Chapstick, anti cellulite cream, eyeliners, lipsticks). Which is unfortunate, but not terribly bad. These items are very luxurious; things I'd never buy because it would break my piggy bank. Recently, glamglow has been in there twice. And my do I love Glamglow and a full sized beauty blender, etc...
So far, I've had no shipping problems, no lost boxes, and no credit card problems. This is great! Beware you must cancel before 30-days in advance. But also check 60-days in advance, in case you forget. Send them an email, they have decent customer service.
Below is my referral if you decide you are interested.

Thanks!
Unfortunately the customer service let's them down. The boxes are good and the right price per month, but I cancelled my subscription after the 1st box due to financial reasons. They then took money out of my account on the 2nd month, so I just assumed I cancelled it too late, but then taking money out of my account on the third month - that was not acceptable!
Unfortunately you can't call someone to discuss this with you have to send messages and from the replies I am recieving, no one is fully reading my messages.
I tell them I have cancelled the subscription and that I only have two email addresses and neither has a subscription with them. I thought that finally I had gotten through to someone that understood, and they confirmed that my subscription was cancelled, yet did not offer a refund of the money they took as there was a box on it way.
So I had to accept the box, but when it arrived the box was damaged as the can of drink that they had put in this month's subscription had burst and ruined all the products in the box.
I had to again message someone regarding this, and nearly a whole month later from them taking the money out of my account, I am still no where further!
They keep asking for an order number, which I don't have as I cancelled my subscription. They keep asking for other email addresses and other contact information but still can't find any information. To which I reply, it's because I cancelled the subscription!
Seriously why can't you call and talk to a human being! It takes them 24 hrs to reply to your message, you the. Have to reply back which takes them another 24 hrs to read and reply to you!
So to date I still don't have my subscription money back, nor do I have a box as compensation as it's ruined by the burst can.
Beyond the misrepresentation of their boxes, specifically 2 full size products & 4 deluxe samples, they, for the most part, only post the positive or mostly positive reviews. They give bonus points for reviewing their products, so I performed a little test on this. They only posted my positive reviews, so users do not get a fair picture of what users really think of their products. In addition, much of what I received would be department store or Sephora giveaways. The last box I received had 2 full size products - one being a absolutely horrible lipstick, formula & color are atrocious and a full size hair rubberband item. Everything else was tiny. You have to cancel by the 15th of the month, but my boxes have come on the 16th or 17th, so even when you realize you want to cancel, you are still locked into another $#*!ty box. They advertise like crazy so they can rope in tons of people, but not worth their hype. I desperately hope that my cancellation goes through. I have since read of many instantces where people are continually charges after cancelling & have a difficult time getting their money back as their customer service is atrocious.
They charged my card, and then cancelled my subscription before giving me the box I PAID FOR because I didn't want to buy a second box?!? I'm pretty sure that's theft?
I honestly don't know how this company is still operating, it is just one big con and I would love to know how many peoples money they have taken and not provided the goods for, had a one year subscription and it was just problem after problem, late boxes, boxes not turning up, cheap products instead of the expensive ones they say you will get, overcharging for limited edition boxes, none existent customer service the list is endless, and the final straw, ordered 2 advent calanders in September, I have only received one and that was on 7th December with no sign of the other one even though I've paid for it and they never actually answer your questions when you message them, no phone number no live chat nothing, what kind of advent calander arrives on tbe 7th dec? It's now the 13th dec and I still haven't received the other one, this company needs looking into by a consumer programme, I bet the lines would be jammed with all the unhappy customers who feel scammed, disappointed and stressed because of them to say the least, please avoid this awful company, I never write reviews but I really feel I have to with glossybox it's the shadiest company stay well away, scam scam scam!
I signed up on July 29 for a 3 month subscription. I received a box in August, one in September, and one in October. In October I was sent an email thanking me for renewing my subscription and $58.50 was taken out of my bank account. When I emailed them on October 11th telling them I was not renewing my subscription, that I actually wanted to cancel my subscription, and wanted my money refunded they said per their policy I needed to cancel before the 15th of the month to get a refund. I emailed again explaining that since my initial subscription didn't end until the end of October and I contacted them on the 11th I should be able to get a refund. I was then told per their policy I only have 30 days to report a box missing. I emailed them a third time telling them that I wasn't missing a box, I received all three of the boxes I paid for. They emailed me back saying I should have gotten a box in July, August, and September. So, the October box is actually the first box in my new subscription. They never attempted to send me a July box, I never received an email saying my July box was being sent (like I did for the other months) so I had no idea I needed to report it missing.
Dunno whats up with all these bad reviews but i love glossy! The reviews on other sites are all brilliant as well.
Auto-renewal that they somehow slid into the order without my noticing and then they never sent an email alerting me that it would be renewing and then customer service was HORRIBLE and RUDE.
My friend recommend glossy box to me as i mentioned to her that I was looking for a beauty box as a treat for myself each month. Where to start with the issues I have faced firstly I joined by registering through my friends referral link which claimed we would both receive glossy credits plus I would receive a certain amount off my first box. Followed link and steps correctly but neither of us received our credits and I didn't get money off first box. I contacted customer care for help and was just told I must not of followed the steps correctly. (Fobbed off)
Secondly I started to notice that I was receiving my glossy box weeks after my friends so it was no longer a surprise of contents as i would find out through people discussing or online of its contents before I even received mine. Contacted customer care and told some boxes are sent later than others (felt fobbed off yet again)
Thirdly I kept getting messages each month stating they had to replace an item in my box due to high demand and they had run out. So I missed out of two very good products I was looking forward to getting as they were box sneak peak items and instead received A mini sample dried up mascara worth half the price of the items I was meant to receive. Contacted customer care as I have got to the point where I won't think I am being treated fairly and as I am having problem after problem on their end, i requested to cancel my subscription without charge as all the problems were from their end. I was told sorry we can't cancel your subscription. (Fobbed off yet again) now I have got to the point I am constantly complaining in the hope they will get fed up and cancel it for me. Also some of the products they sent out To glossys they state a price in the leaflet when in actual fact i found a good few products in the shops cheaper for example eos lipbalm- states in leaflet it's about £4.99 it's in a certain shop for £1..
Shttty of them to charge me and i never received a box. I've waited long enough it should have been delivered by now.
I am a new customer who recently signed up. During the sign-up I made a clerical error on the address number. I immediately sent a note to customer service and stated the problem. The response I received stated I needed to contact the courier to resolve as they could not fix the address problem and that the product already shipped. I knew it hadn't already shipped since it had only been seconds since I submitted my order as a first time customer. I ended up calling them and was told as soon as it ships I would receive an update with the tracking info so I could call myself to see if they could resolve the shipping to the wrong address. Unhelpful in my opinion that they couldn't figure this out, but I was willing to do it myself. Several days went by with no update so I called back again. This time they stated that they weren't sure why the product hadn't shipped yet and they would contact the shipping department to try and resolve the shipping address issue since it hadn't gone out yet. I was very happy as this is what I would have expected to happen from the very beginning. Unfortunately several days later I received an email saying they cannot fix the address, contact the courier myself again. Yet, no update on who the courier is. So, called again. Product still hadn't shipped so no updates. I've emailed for a couple of weeks now and no updates on shipment or address, just the same generic response regarding contact the courier. Now that it is way past the Valentine's Day I was ordering for in the first place and still no resolution I request they cancel my subscription and refund the money since they have not been able to ship me my product or resolve the shipping issue. They refuse to do so and state that I should contact the courier regarding the address problem...:(
Needless to say, I've called and emailed to NO resolution still and have paid over $100 for nothing but a headache. Don't bother with these guys.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!
You may never receive anything and they may continue to take money from your account anyway.
I placed an order on 11th JUNE for a Glossybox, hoping to receive one in July. A week or so after the order was placed I got an email saying that because I had placed after 9am on 11th June I wasn't able to get a July box and they'd send me an August one. Not great but at least I knew.
They then took another 2 payments during July and Aug that I had to fight to get refunded as I still hadn't received what I had ordered in June.
I kept asking when I would receive my Aug box as Aug was almost over and kept being told "It'll be with you soon, don't worry. If you haven't received a dispatch email by 15th Aug get back in touch and we will look into it for you"
So when 19th Aug rolls around and I haven't heard anything I emailed again only to be told "As the August edition is now fully out of stock I am unable to replace this for you. Please can you let me know if you are happy to accept a refund or would prefer the box value added as credit."
Actually shocking. Out of stock of something I ordered in JUNE? Really? Funny how it's been sent out for free to all the influencers on Instagram though.
Am waiting on a refund now but don't hold out any hope of receiving it quickly if the last 2 months have been anything to go by.
Save your time and money and go elsewhere!
Answer: No! Products from Glossybox are not worth the money. Most products are deluxe samples, which is fine if they did not claim otherwise, as well as if the monthly price reflected deluxe sample prices. From my experience, Glossybox tended to include a lot of deluxe samples of hair products, individual sheet masks, nail polish, usually full size, and items of this nature. Very little makeup products other than eyeliners. The products are not unique as is with other companies offering the same subscription services.
Answer: Glossybox list price for the full sized item on their information card, Birchbox does the same thing. Ive only ever been able to get replies from Glossybox on their social media accounts.
Answer: How I got them to answer is I used the review section and copy and pasted my issue on every review and told them I would keep giving lousy reviews until they resolved my issue. That worked, and they did
