Worst ever company
February 10, 2016

I ordered some products in the fall of 2015 and they were good. I decided to order again big mistake. First they opened an acc in my daughters name without her consent (package was sent to my daughters home). We didn't know till she got the bill. We called to straighten it out and they told us no way. Tacked on late fees. So we did automatically withdraw and because the date they started it was after the due date they tacked on late fees every month. Customer service was very rude and didn't help. Paid it off and urge everyone not to purchase from gettington. Wish we could afford a lawyer because what they did was wrong. Please don't order from them!

I was being charge the incorrect payment due and when I question it, i received a letter telling me my account was revoke. I am hiring an attorney because I started paying 83.66 on a 1300 - 1600 balance almost 2 years ago now my balance is 540.00 and they are still demanding this payment. Customer service is horrible.

Sneaky Collections

I am only a few days past due and they have been calling non-stop so I don't answer the phone cause I can't pay for another couple of days. Well, this morning at 11:18 am Pacific time, my cell phone started ringing and the caller ID showed mom and dad so naturally I answered thinking it was my mom. Instead, it was some Indian lady calling from Gettington! I hung up and immediately texted my mom asking if she just called me and she said no. Those gettington reps somehow broke into my cell phone, got into my contacts list and chose a contact they know I would answer the phone for. Now, they're not getting a dime from me. I have filed a complaint with the consumer protect agency and I intend to find out how they got into my cell phone.

One word: Atrocious! They have no common sense. Maybe, different culture?, I don't like how they treat their customers. And that's right, when I call them, I expect them to speak English. I like American based customer care. Their accent is annoying and they don't seem to understand about business codes. If you dispute any charges on your account, they will refer you to their collection agency. They need to be sued and will be sued for emotional distress. Not for me.

Each order I have placed over the past year, the shipping has been horrible. Quite often items come damaged and it takes 4-6 weeks before we receive the packages. Each time I called or emailed, I don't get the answers that I need. There were a few times, I ended up having to buy the items locally and it took forever to get refunded or credited back.

I will never be ordering again.
My bill never matched my receipts that came in with the packages I went over $700 worth of items and every order was wrong discounts was not taken off free shipping was not applied so I had to go over everything one by one and I saved all the discount codes that I used along the way.
I haven't heard back from them.

I received damaged items. The second headache was that they don't do electronic communications so I had to wait 2 weeks for them to physically mail me a return label. I sent it back and they said they never received it. 2 months later they keep stonewalling and I haven't received refund even though the tracking number says delivered. I did it through their credit option, so I can't even file a complaint with a credit card company.

I have had only positive experiences with gettington. Items ordered were priced good in comparison to other places, the quality has been fine. I am pleased with gettington. I use the gettington credit and when I send a payment it gets posted on time. 1

I've been shopping here for 3 years. In that time I've had nothing but respectful customer service, And a pleasant experience. I signed up for the email notifications, And ended up getting my Kitchenaid pro 600 mixer for $80 less than anybody else I could find online, and this was for brand new, not referb. Like any place else you gotta have a little discipline and wait for things to go on sale. Will buy from them again.

Received an email from gettington that merchandise would be delivered on a certain day and obviously gettington is passing the buck blaming ups i called to cancel my order and was told that i can not cancel the order as it has been shipped and i need to do the leg work and call the post office and ups i dont work for gettington they did not render service that they said they were providing i should have listened to all the terrible reviews but i will not let them take advantage of me! Please dont get caught in this situation as there customer service is not there to provide assistance cancel my order!

Ordered a Google Nexus tablet. Received in a timely manner. However the packing was inadequate for an electronic device. When I picked up the box, the box inside containing the tablet rumbled. You would think this company would invest in some Styrofoam peanuts or bubble-wrap to stabilize the device. Just as I feared the tablet never even charged to turn on. I called manufacturer tech support and they confirmed the device is defective. Gettington customer support informed me that it would take 7-10 days to send me a return shipping label, another 7-10 days to process receipt, and should I decide that I'd like a replacement device it would take another 7-10 to ship it. So essentially a month to exchange the defective device. RUN. RUN. While you can!

The Worst ever
April 22, 2019

Ever since Gettington got bought out by Bluestem Brands it has went from OK to the worst. Prices went up over 250% from what they were. Items that they once carried they no longer carry. I am constantly getting emails from them about buying their products and the ones I was interested in they have gotten rid of. Their Web site seems to be having problems. Do like I did and close out your account. They are not worth the time or the headache.

Just had an agent hang up on me when I asked for a supervisor. I called back and got put on eternal hold. I am apparently on some kind of auto dialer and have received 15 calls within the last two days. No one is ever there. I am closing my account and complaining to the attorneys general in my state. Shame on you Gettington for treating paying customer so poorly.

I received an email for Gettington's black friday/cyber deals. I assumed it was more of the same, but decided to check it out anyway. Lmao! The so called deals were laughable at best. I am just amazed at how a company could charge such outrageous prices. I saw an echo dot 2nd gen on sale for $89.99... what!? The company that makes it doesn't even sell it for that much. In fact amazon has it on sale for $19.99, with an optional monthly payment plan of $5 x4 for those who need. This company will never change, not until the consumer puts them in check.

I've used gettington for years and I watch the company go from great to s**t. When I first started using gettington the prices were great and interest was calculated upfront. The easy pay option was a life saver. I could order as much stuff as I wanted and the easy pay option had me paying $20-$25 a month. That was for the entire order! Now, oh how the mighty have fallen. Overpriced items, outrageous shipping fees and the customer service is trash. I'm not sure if fingerhut owned gettington initially or acquired later, but now they are one in the same. I mean identical! I'm in the process of paying the last few dollars and then the account will be clipped!

Thieves

Where do I start? This company is nothing but a bunch of thieves, I only had 2 more payments to go and just this month they've taken 4 payments and was told that my refund would take up to 30 days, then they told me I still owed them $22 bucks, they aren't getting it. When it's all said and done, I went to my bank and had them close the account. I will never ever ever do business with this pathetic company again. Don't waste your time or money on them. Stay away from them.

Been a loyal customer since summer of 2011. Started out with a $300.00 credit limit, up to $2700. 00 now. Have bought quite a bit from them since I opened this account without any issues. Always quick to ship, pricing it decent compared to alot of company's I've looked at. Product line is decent and getting better daily. I can't believe all the bad reviews I've seen in here either. Personally I haven't had the issues that any of these people in here have. Would and have recommended this company to others to buy from!

I was pleased at first - ordered a heater that arrived in a timely fashion and worked quite well. Needed another, so ordered it.

I was sent a used, filthy, smoky heater. So, I email and ask them to send a return shipping label and that I would like to exchange it for another heater - figured I would give them a chance to make it right; perhaps someone just didn't do their job on the return end.

They flat out refused to pay return shipping. I have it written in email - even though they sent me a used item they will not accept responsibility in any way. I plan on filing a complaint with my state Attorney General and never doing business with these people again!

Never a single problem

I've ordered from them for about 4 years without a glitch. Prices are decent if you know how to shop. Always promo codes available for discounts and free shipping. I've always received timely shipping. Even did a return on a pair of sneakers, was as painless as it gets. Typical warehouse buying service, many of them out there, I consider Gettington one of the better ones. There is always the choice of going to Walmart and getting crappy or no service, no stock and standing in lines! Amazon is a great service if you do mind overpaying?

Yes, this site is overpriced, but what do you expect with the line of credit and finance charges they offer... I bought an iPad2 from them... received it quickly, even though it said on back order... and all I'm paying is $35 a month and like $5 is for finance, and I can always pay it off faster... the iPad was also brand new, not refurbished... I'm using it right now to post this review... I've had it for 3 month with now problems, and no problems with making my payments.

I've been using this company for about 6 years now. Usually around the holidays. I've never had a single issue. Usually have some kind of promo code for free shipping of discount. I rarely if ever pay for shipping and have always been pleased with my orders.
