Horrible experience with placing order, customer service. Deceptive advertising as well.
November 18, 2019

I just became a new Gettington customer this past Sunday, yesterday, 11/17/19, through their website. They took over a brand I really like, Sahalie. It turns out the only way to order Sahalie products as of March 2018 is through Gettington. They should be called Gotcha-tington. Their promo codes don't work as detailed on the website - for example, as a new customer, I should have received free shipping on my first order (shipping was $24.75 on $103 order of a few very light clothing items, which is almost a quarter of the purchase price!). But since I was a new customer, I thought I'd get free shipping with promo code GET275, as per their website:

-----------Get FREE SHIPPING on your first order of $49. Or more with promo code GET275 at checkout.

Details:
Offer ends 11:59pm CT 1/31/2020. Enter promo code GET275 at checkout to receive free standard shipping on your first order of $49 or more; one-time use. Does not include oversize items, 2-day shipping, signature-required shipping fees and upcharges for shipments outside the contiguous 48 States. Promo code only valid online. One promo code per order.---------------

Typing in the GET275 promo code at checkout resulted in an error message when I hit the "place order" button", even though the shipping amount showed as 0 after I entered the promo code.

Error Message
1627: The coupon you entered is not valid. Please remove your coupon and try again.

I tried several times to input the code, and figured something might not be working correctly since it was Sunday, so I called their customer service number.

Turns out they're only there Mon Fri, so on Monday, today, I called customer service to get the promo code put into effect. I got a song and dance about this code applying only if you get the Gettington credit card, and since I was paying with Visa, it wasn't valid.

That is NOT what the promo code said - no mention of having to create a credit account with Gettington, just being new to Gettington. Also, their asking for my Social Security number didn't sound right.

I asked to speak with a supervisor, and was put on "terminal hold" with the option of getting a call-back - they don't even have enough staff to handle the complaint calls! Of which I'm sure there are many, judging from the reviews on this and other independent websites glad I read them to avoid additional hassles.

I decided I didn't need the items that badly and undid my order. Sorry that Sahalie is losing the business, because their stuff is really lovely good fabrics, fit, etc. I hope they resume doing business as themselves in the future.

Gettington, however, should be investigated by the better business bureau.
Thanks.

Gettington is the worst online shopping scam artist!
July 22, 2016

I'm speechless about this company. Are they scam artists or a legitimate company? Don't ever set "autopay" with Gettington! What a pathetic company! What a bunch of losers, they need to get real job. All calls are being answered in a foreign country, Philippines. They're money hungry. I understand only half of what they're saying.

Don't believe anything they say. There's a problem with my account balance, and when I tried to talk to the customer service, they forward me to their collection dept. When I talked to the collection dept. they told me I don't have to worry about making a minimum payment for this month because I made a double payment for June and July, they will say anything to make you believe that everything is gonna be ok. They said an adjustment will be made by today. Well, tomorrow is my minimum payment due date. My account balance is still not adjusted and the minimum payment still shows as $66 when it should be $0. When I called today, they told me a whole different story. They said that there's nothing they can do about the minimum payment and my account balance. They told me on 18, 19, 20, they will adjust the account balance as well as minimum payment amount. Never happened.
They are just waiting for me to miss my minimum payment due date, so that they can charge another late fee.
I left several messages to supervisors regarding this issue, but nobody had called me. They gave me false information about their names, they don't update the account balance, and they don't do follow ups! When I asked their name, they gave me wrong names, I guess they don't want to be tracked down or be responsible for what they say. Lack of Knowledge? There's no communication between the customer service and collection dept. Every time I call, I spent 25 minutes to 30 minutes because they failed to update information from the previous calls. THEY'RE NOT TRUST WORTHY!

I have never requested any reimbursement for the previous payment I made. Why would I do that? For some reason, they told me they reimbursed $40, but when I checked transactions at my bank, there's no credit of $40 from Gettington. I called the customer service, but they kept insisting the reimbursement was made. Wow, are they serious? They're scam artists. I went to my bank and had the branch manager fax Getttington a statement showing that there's no credit of $40 from Gettington. Despite the fact, as of right now, they still didn't update my account balance. They're giving me headaches and the runaround! I'm planning to take them to a court if I have to. I spent almost 700 to 800 minutes with them about this issue, they couldn't get it together. All they do is transferring the calls to the collection, when I talk to the collection, they transferred me back to the customer service just back and forth. And it's really hard to understand their thick heavy accent. I'm sick and tired of how they handle their business. They're crazy. Be careful about giving them your bank infor. Close your account ASAP! They will ruin your credit! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
December 17, 2015

I recently placed an order on 11/21 (plenty time to arrive by Christmas), it was 2 very popular items so I was glad that I was able to still order them while in stock. The promise delivery date was for 12/07. However, according to my order the items were "shipped via UPS", when I clicked on the tracking number to track the packages, It was noted that the UPS package was turned over to USPS for delivery. (Why this had happened, and WHY I was not told that the delivery would be coming from a different carrier, I'm not sure?) Well, I DID NOT RECEIVE THE PACKAGE ON 12/7 AS PROMISED! There was NO way for me to track the packages since the UPS tracking number was no longer good, since it had been turned over to USPS!
I still waited for the package to arrive thinking that there was just a delay because of the holiday season. On 12/10 I just happened to look at my account online and was SHOCKED to see that my order had been RETURNED! I could not believe it! When I contacted customer service online, the rep told me that the item had been returned to USPS, and they in turn returned it to Gettington. She informed me that I would need to re-order the items - well upon doing so, GUESS WHAT?!?!? THEY WERE NO LONGER IN STOCK! At this point I was livid - the rep told me to call the customer service line, which I did immediately. After 40min on the phone with a rep, all of the things the was offering my were UN-ACCEPATBLE! I found an item that was close to the returned item but there was a somewhat large price difference. After talking with the rep for 40min (he was trying to offer free shipping, which I was already getting, and $30 off of the new item, but for only 1 of them, not the 2 that I needed. I was feeing insulted and it was just UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE for an ERROR that was clearly Gettington's, not mine. I insisted that I speak with his manager, and after being on the phone for over 1 hour, the only thing that they were willing to give me was a total of $50.00 ($25 off of each) and again with Free Shipping. Free shipping SHOULD NOT EVEN HAD BEEN AN OFFER, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFF THE TOP!
I needed these items as they were the 1 "big" gift for each of my kids for Christmas, so instead of staying on the phone for another hour I took the deal, but was NOT HAPPY with the end result.
I find it hard to believe that this was all they were going to offer and kept on telling me that they would give me Free Shipping. Ridiculous!
I'll have to seriously think twice about ordering again from this company!

Stay Away!
January 13, 2014

Stay Away! I purchased a sofa for my daughter moving into her first new apartment. The sofa price was great and was a good quality sofa on sale for $299. However, by the time it was all said and done it cost me nealry $700! If I wanted to spend that much on a sofa I would have gone to the local furniture store for something more elaborate than a small apartment sectional sofa. Here's what happened. I purchased the sofa online. After delivery I was informed that the deliver charge was another $150. Since I set this purchase up on a line of credit with this company, I worked with their customer service to set up automatic payments each month. After 5 months of payments, I received a call out of the blue telling me I was late on my payment. After explaining that there shouldn't be any late payments as my account is set up for automatic payment each month, they told me that auto-payment I set up expired. It was only good for 5 months and that I must have made an error setting up the payment schedule. I was asked if I wanted to reset the payment schedule. I figured if I was going to go through all that hassle I would just go ahead and get the payoff and pay the full balance, assuming it would be around $350 or so. I almost fell on the floor when they told me my balance was $607! I asked how that was possible after paying for 5 months. How could my balance be more than it was prior the payments they've received. He told me that when my automatic payments were set up that the payment date was scheduled 3 days after the due date so I've been being charged a late fee every month. I confronted him asking why I wasn't notified of any late fees or why the person that worked with me would have set up a payment date that would be late every month. He would not answer the question. I asked to speak with a supervisor. Can you believe he asked me why I wanted to speak with a supervisor?! DAHH! I told him I felt I was, at minimum, owed a credit for the late fees. He then - FINALLY - offered to credit back late fees. Wow - he offered me a $60 credit. At this point I was so mad, I just wanted to end the relationship all together. I went ahead and paid the ridiculous new balance of $547.67 and asked them to close my account and remove me from all mailing lists and to never contact me again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these rip off artists!

I did some research on this company:
November 20, 2013

I did some research on this company:
I figured they were associated with FingerHut but wanted to clarify it with the proof. Prices are jacked up and they are predatory, preying on the working class people of this country, right up there with payday lenders. Research their other company PayCheck Direct, dang didn't know crap like that exsisted.

I have made one order with this company 3 things 2...
September 8, 2013

I have made one order with this company 3 things 2 purses and an apple iphone. Well they sent the wrong purse. And the phone they sent was broken from the inside. Apple sd that it would never work. After many many calls; and messages with there warrenty comp. Which is just -4 stars 7 months later i got a replacement phone great u would think but they sent me one that can be used in ireleland. Well i live in ohio. They called wanting a payment i said sure when i get a working phone. I informed her that i had blew up my fb page about the comp. And warrentany comp. Ccr. She became rude; down rite livid. Now keep in mind i i have made calls to gettington itself and they said not there problem take it up with ccr. And many many contacts to to ccr they said they would send me the correct piece in 8-10 weeks. So we are now talking 8 wks; i set here with no working phone. As well as they lied to me, they said apple was able to be used with many carriers. That is why i went with apple i am with t-mobile and not a big fan wanted to change carriers. I found out from apple after soooo many different trips to t-mobile to get it activated went the 45 min. Each way to apple store to find out it is only comppatable with t-mobile and att. I wanted to get off of t-mobile and already had att. I was wanting to try verizon. Well still no phone working. Oh its been so much frustration involved with this. I tried rite from the beganing to have them keep the phone and credit my acctt they said they would not do that. So if u are considering using gettington.com i would reconsider. So not worth the drama. Good luck to any one that is waiting for an order and pray that its going to be what u ordered. Good luck.
