Arrived at hotel booked for three persons and tolled you have to pay for the third bed not sure how that works wanted $35 a night extra in booking free breakfast only could have for two person. Extra $12 a day so all up my boy sleep on the lounge and then had to make him noodles in the room after we had our breakfast so I think you can see things are not right
Reserved a room at the Holiday Inn at the Baltimore Inner Harbor several months ago. For two nights I paid $750. As the date got more near, I noticed I could book the same room at the same hotel for $86 a night. The rate I paid is almost 5 times higher. I called about a refund or if they would price match... of course they could not. They stated that the reservation was nonrefundable. Any reputable booking agency will price match or at least refund with a penalty. Not theses guys. Book through someone else, this company specializes in ripping customers off.

After posting this review I got a phone call from a true customer service rep who was very helpful. She made arrangements to cancel my reservation and get a full refund. Although I have not yet received the refund (she said it would take 3-5 business days) I am confident I will receive it
We tried to cancel a reservation 4 months before our arrival date and they wouldn't refund any of it, even though the hotel said they were fine to refund all of it. The no cancellation clause wasn't visible when we booked our room. They also overcharged us fees equal to 40% of the room rate. These guys should be put out of business or regulated closely.
First of all - you can get much better rates online or at the facility. These people charged us double the rate of the hotel. This is my fault for not looking at the reviews. Take mine to heart. Secondly, it was 115 degrees at the Palm Desert located resort so we checked out one night early. We tried and tried to get our $$ back which was fine with the hotel, but after repeated efforts to get the $185 dollars back we finally gave up. Please do not waste your time and money with these people.

This site apparently mirrors the actual hotel site I was trying to book (even in the address bar). Normally, you would get a review before you click to purchase, but this site does not provide that opportunity. I thought I would get to look at the final prices and enter my rewards number information before confirming purchase, but that was not the case. Within 2 minutes of getting confirmation email, I called the phone number provided, but was told there was nothing that could be done and I was being charged the full price whether I cancelled the reservation or not.

While sitting on the tarmac in Vancouver I was informed that I would miss my connecting flight in Toronto so I google searched Toronto Pearson Airport Sheridan hotel. A 1-800 number came up and I called it. First thing I did was I asked the agent if this was the Sheridan Hotel... he said yes we have three Sheridan's which one do you want. After going through the booking I was told my card would be charged $233. Once I arrived in Toronto I had an email charging me $110 tax recovery fee that was not disclosed and all charges were in United States dollars so my actual bill was over $450 CDN... so they did not disclose that they were a 3rd party agency, they did not disclose a $110 tax recovery fee and did not disclose USD currency - total con artists. I did escalate this with ScamARoom several times but all I got was the cookie cutter apologetic response.
It may not be a high end for that matter is more low end, when checking in the clerk asked me if I was aware that the bath was separate meaning no attached bathroom
For one night with an early AM departure not a problem, the clerk was nice and did give me a room with an attached inside the room bathroom.
Best part of the room, flat screen TV, with little refurbishing room I would change to pleasant room

Worst customer service ever. I called a gentlemen who barely spoke English answered but couldn't understand me so hung up! They rip you off and then say there's nothing they can do about it. No one should ever use this site!
I thought I had contacted Marriott hotels and booked a room for my wife and sixteen year old son who were traveling. When they got to the hotel late that evening the room only had one bad leaving my son to sleep on the floor. When I notified the customer service at getaroom they stated they would give me a 10% discount. So basically they would give me $10 for the inconvenience of my son sleeping on the floor. This is unacceptable and they make it out when you call them that they are the Hotel you are booking. It is very deceiving. Never book through this company I was very specific what I wanted a room with two queen beds. Not a room with one bed. I have since sent them another email and if they do not answer it I will contact Marriott and possibly take legal action. Since this review I was given a full refund from get a room. It is a shame that it took this to get satisfaction. I would have given a five star favorable review if they had offered a 50% refund when the issue originally was brought to their attention. I do thank get a room for their response.
I am very disappointed in this website! Getaroom.com almost attempted to imitate the Hyatt website and then charged me much more in fees than the actual Hyatt website would have! OVER $80 in hotel fees is completely RIDICULOUS - save yourself the trouble and money and just book through the hotels direct website! Besides, once you realize that they have overcharged you, you won't be able to get a hold of their customer service line! Truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had while booking a hotel and we travel quite often!
This US-Site sneaks like a drone into the internet imitating true hotel sites and charging exorbitant rates plus debiting the charges immediately in true US-style whereas my German hotel would have charged be earliest one day before arrival allowing late cancellation. This site is clearly meant to cheat unsuspecting travellers and should be banned!
Beware this company is a scam charge my credit card and did't pay the hotel, when you call them someone in India pickup the phone and don't knows whats going on.

I booked a reservation for the Intercontinental Montreal thinking I was booking directly with the hotel. That was my mistake, but Getaroom.com definitely makes an effort to make it look like you are booking directly with the hotel. I didn't realize this until I receive the confirmation email from getaroom - I'm not happy with this because I prefer always to book directly with the hotel to avoid hassles. Second, the advertised and quoted rate was right around $250 USD. When I got the confirmation email it had all the taxes and fees added in which totaled it to over $350 USD for 1 night. I am not an inexperienced traveler but I got lazy on this one and they took advantage of me. It took multiple calls to actually get a person on the phone in the Philippines with Getaroom.com but of course they refused to do any cancellation with refund due to the refund policy (which I knew about). I could actually here other agents in the background repeating the same lines I was getting: "sorry we're not allowed to refund due to policy". And "no there isn't a supervisor available to speak with you". I had to call the hotel directly who was nice enough to cancel my reservation but then it took another 30 minute call back to Getaroom a week later to get them to refund the $$. This isn't what I call a business built on good service and a quality product. In my view it's built more on taking advantage of unsuspecting consumers.
Please whatever you do, just go directly to the hotel site to book, you will get a way better deal than anything this GetARoom site can give you, instead they added on a $77 booking surcharge to my booking for one night...

Get a Room imitated the Hilton site, charged us more than the walk-in rate and never answered the phone when I called to try to cancel. I would give them a zero if that was an option.
I booked thru getaroom for the first time and it went thru just fine, just confirmed it at the hotel!

I am writing this review because of the horrible experience I have just had. I booked around 5:45 pm yesterday for a family reunion in Asheville. I received a call that my uncle suffering from deminsia was being forced to relocate his hospice facility. When I booked it stated FREE CANCELLATION. When I called the customer service they stated that the room was non refundable. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the lady would not transfer me. She said it was company policy. My sister booked through Priceline and was able to receive a 100 percent refund due to a family emergency. I offered to provide the Priceline documentation to prove I was not lying. The reservation was for the same dates and the same hotel. In my opinion this is a horrible business practice and everyone should know that this is a horrible company and Hilton should cut ties with a HORRIBLE COMPANY like this. When Icalled Hilton and talked to their supervisor..... she stated under these circumstances she would have worked with me. Also I asked for a voucher to use in the future for the same hotel, and it was not obtainable. Their online fees are absolutely ridiculous as well. I will continue to give negative reviews until this situation is resolved
I booked a last minute business trip and had to cancel due to client. I also thought i had booked through the Hyatt website. When i opened email to call i noticed the hotel itself was $897 for 3 nights, and the "service fee"... was $547 extra which i never noticed or saw during booking... when i called to try to cancel, was put on hold while they "called the hotel". And of course said they could offer no help as the cancellation wasn't 2 weeks out. I had booked the day before. Was told they had spoken to the manager of the hotel, when i called the hotel to follow up, i was informed there was no one by that name working there. I've been in the hotel business over 30 years and will make sure to tell every owner, dos, gm, and business traveler to stay away... i was finally charged well over $500 to cancel... be careful when you book...

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
