My brand new washing machine from GE Appliances hasn't gotten the clothes clean from day one. I've tried all the modes, adjusting the amount of laundry soap and even freshener but the clothes come out dirty and smelly. I scheduled a service call (which is encouraged through the website for the "best experience" but turned out to be awful-the other option was through an automated system which was even worse to use). Their soonest available date was a week out (today). I was supposed to get a confirmation call yesterday - never did and the service tech never showed in the window they were supposed to. I would give zero stars if I could.

Crappy Service

We scheduled service on our dryer thru them and this will be the last time. Almost a 2 week appt from call date. They state confirmation calls would be made night before and day of. Promised 8 to 12 and tech was a no show. When we called customer no service was told the tried and was no answer. Both my wife and I were home and no calls recd. Phone rep was rude and didn't care. Called somebody else.

The drawing fridge came with stripped screws on the drawer hinge. Had the repaired under warranty but it didn't fix the problem. When I called back they said you are out of warranty. I should not have accepted the appliance in the first place. Expensive appliances but poorly made and not great service

DOES NOT WORK - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (THE WORST)! See the video I made and sent to GE. Brand-New out of the box, installed by a licensed electrician in the business for 50 years, and the cooktop does not work. I literally have a $3,000 non-functioning paperweight in my kitchen and cannot cook for my family. GE Customer Relations Department has been awful and has not helped us. They obviously do not care. They pretend to be helpful, but they do not help at all and they lie, lie, and then lie some more. Me and my family have been unable to cook for 3 weeks. GE has not offered us any assistance nor have they apologized. GE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ME OR YOU OR ANYBODY FOR THAT MATTER - PERIOD! I asked them to simply send me a brand-new functioning cooktop and and they said, "No, that's not how our procedures work." They said it needs a new part and they'll ship that part to me and send out a repairman to install it. I requested the part be shipped overnight. They agreed to ship it overnight. Well, the part should have arrived today, but it has not arrived. I contacted GE and they said, "Oopsie, we forgot to ship it overnight. You'll receive it in 7 to 10 days." No apology. No offer to help us financially with the high cost of eating out due to not being able to cook - NOTHING. This is the worst possible situation anyone can ever be in with a company. I literally asked their representative Amy, "Per your policy, what is the amount of time you are willing to allow your client to stew before you step in and fix the problem." Amy's answer (per the recorded phone call), "It's on a case-by-case basis." You cannot make this garbage up, folks! I do not recommend GE, and I do not recommend any GE products. In fact, I'd suggest you run hard and fast away from GE! I will be calling the BBB tomorrow and filing a report and I will also call whomever else I can think of to complain and/or fill out a report. GE SIMPLE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR BOTTOM LINE $$$. If you buy GE, you may as well bend over and get ready to scream!

Here we are again within a few months having to call for service on our GE Fridge. This refrigerator is only 4 years old and has needed service for two separate issues earlier this year and now yet another problem. We have been inconvenienced several times for a repairman to come and diagnose, come again to repair, come again to diagnose because the first time was incorrect, then again for a repair. We were unable to use the refrigerator because it was warming up. Now a new issue with the door. Time to get rid of this defective product and move on to something better.

My fridge and Freezer stopped cooling. I scheduled maintenance service on August 28 from 01:00 p.m. to 05:00 p.m.
My confirmation number is *******.
However, no one showed up to do the required service and bothered to call, text, or send emails explaining why they did not come.
I called customer service twice, and each call lasted 45 minutes without help. In the second call, the representative told me he couldn't get to the dispatcher to find out what happened. And that I will receive a call or email from them soon. Again, nothing happened. I had to request help from a local technician to fix my fridge and will end up paying 600 USD for a service I should get from GE.

I Called them again and tried to find an answer after they sent me an email to reschedule my service to Sep-08. They did not have a reasonable justification for my complaint. I talked to one of their supervisors and expressed my frustration with how I was treated. I informed her that I did not call asking for compensation. That is what they thought. I called to get an explanation for their insolent treatment and if they trained their employees about how to treat their customers fairly and professionally.

I also sent an email informing them that I would cancel the appointment. What bothers me the most is that they assumed it was all about the money and that I would request compensation from them. But the people's dignity is much more valuable. The least that can be said about my experience with GE appliances is horrible.
I'm wondering what kind of customer service GE has, as it is considered one of the elite companies in America.
I will find a solution for all other GE appliances in my house to replace them with more reliable company appliances. I don't need to go through the same drama again in the future.

I normally purchase LG appliances but I wanted to purchase GE this time since they support veterans BUT this turned out to be a HUGE mistake. I purchased a high end dishwasher, an oven and two washing machines. The washing machines have been nothing but problems in that they seem unable to get water out of the clothes ever after servicing the units. To make matters even worse the service technicians do not show up for scheduled appointments and order parts even before they diagnose the machines. I was a believer in GE as a company but not only would I never ever purchase another GE appliance but I have also sold my stock in the company because I cannot support a company that is so utterly disfunctional.

Ordered Dryer GFD55ESSN1WW. Worked great until I moved it, and sparks come out of what I thought was the pigtail. Took a look everything was tight shook it off as maybe it was loose. Then my breakers started to pop over and over by the third time I call the electrician out after having the breakers replaced. They had said there were arcing and burn spots on the panel itself. Still sparks kept happing after the swap but now it was from under the shield panel, they asked how old it was I said it was 2 weeks old. We contacted GE finally after 2 hours on hold and here we are 3 weeks later still waiting on "readily available parts" as the tech said? After he open the dryer he showed me 4 different burn spots in the dryer. One part has a constant 110V going through it, it was not bolted to anything and was just sliding around the metal base plate. No screws or bolts and "got lose" nothing. And another part only had one of the 2 screws in it just flopping around. The tech had to order 4 new parts for the dryer.

Could not care less

Unbending, unhelpful, and a total ripoff. Brand new washer fails in ways a seasoned technician had never seen in his career, and the 5.4B company offers a $200 rebate towards a new machine. We escalated to management who sold us on a prorated replacement only to offer a different proration in writing that would have us out of $700. Will never buy GE Haier again.

I bought a washer for an elderly man who is a stay in. He had a double stroke. The washer was barely used and broke. GE gives phone #s and will send out service for diagnostic parts and labor cost. This washer will cost more to fix than I paid. Shifter, control panel and motor? What a disgrace

I bought this because my Top end GE dishwasher went after 5 years. Boards went bad and the door leaked. I bought GE again so I would not have to move the water supply but GE moved it back 1 inch making it harder to hook up. Then there was the electrical box that was too short to get the screw in and I had to bend it to make it longer to get the screw in. Also many sharp edges to cut your hands on when hooking it up. Then there is the refrigerator that is 5 years old and the spring broke that is on the flap for the French door not a big deal if GE would sell just the spring that you can buy from other manufacturers for a couple of dollars. GE makes you buy the whole piece for $140.00. Obviously GE does not care about it's Customers.

We bought this refrigerator that has french doors, bottom freezer, ice maker, hot water dispenser and a Keurig for coffee. The first problem appeared on day 1 of installation. Some of the styrofoam insulation was extruding from the freezer door. The door was replaced in a timely manner. Then the freezer door closed with some difficulty. The door slider assembly was changed. Finally, 6 weeks after installation, the freezer stopped working. A technician replaced all kinds of items and left. The freezer was still not working. A second technician from a different company indicated that the compressor was most likely at fault and would require someone with technical qualification to replace and add the R600a refrigerant. Apparently none of the local technicians have the tools and qualifications. Customer service was made aware of these issues and after numerous phone calls and time, have agreed to replace my unit. The only one available is a less expensive refrigerator/freezer. And GE is unwilling to compensate for the $350 cost difference. If I didn't accept the cheaper model, GE would not longer initiate calls to resolve my problem.
I am so sorry to bought this refrigerator and am particularly angry that GE gave me an ultimatun: accept our offer or buzz off. This is terrible customer service and for a defective product.

My entire experience with GE has been frustrating and a great example of a lack of customer service.

I purchased a new refrigerator on June 23rd. On July 18th, it started not cooling or freezing. It completely dies on July 20th. It took 2 weeks for someone to come out to look at it. I was then told they are not going to replace it but rebuild the cooling system which is bad.

My refrigerator is to be REBUILT today. I have had no communication from anyone about when someone is coming out. I work for a living and no one bothered to inquire what time worked for me. No one has provided me with even a window of time when I could expect someone to come out. That is completely ridiculous!

When the service guy came out on July 26th, I was not given any advanced notice that he was on his way. He just showed up. Common courtesy would dictate that you coordinate with the customer on a convenient time.

All of that frustration is after I pay for a NEW refrigerator that dies on day 28. I have to wait 2 weeks for someone to come to look at it to confirm that it has died. Rather than replace the refrigerator, I have to wait another 2 weeks for someone to come REBUILD the cooling unit. So, in essence, I will have a refurbished refrigerator for a new refrigerator price.

I have lost so much in spoiled food, renting a loaner refrigerator and time off of work.

Please re-evaluate your warranty and customer service because, in my situation, both are non-existent!

Haven't had my washer a year and it already broke. The panel board went out and needs replacing. The customer service and warranty department was not easy to communicate with and the parts are going to take over 1 month to come in and get someone out to fix. Do not recommend this washer to anyone.

Freezer failed. Over 120 pounds of meat and seafood lost. Blood from defrosted meat leaked inside walls and coils. GE refused to replace or clean and sanitize contaminated unit. Offered no remedy other than replacement of failed part inside freezer a month after service request. Consumer left with freezer with rotten blood inside walls and coils of freezer, horrific odor and bugs inside unit. GE suggested that consumer should follow advice of their tech and move unit into driveway, open up walls of freezer and spray with garden hose. GE obviously manufacturers sub-par appliances, fails to service them in a timely manner, and has no regard for the consumer who has paid a substantial price for the product and warranty. Buyers be ware. Do not waste your money on such a substandard product and callous disregard by the manufacturer. GE does not stand behind the product they manufacture.

Stopped working 13 months later
Couldn't get anybody from GE to take a look at it
Spent 2 days, 9 phone calls to GE and total of 3.5 hours phone hold time with no success

Ended it throwing away the washer after 13 months of purchase only and got an LG one

Horrible company
Will never purschase anything from it

We purchased a GE 24in Tall Tub stainless steel dishwasher from Home Depot and was not at all satisficed with the quality. After we had it installed, it leaked into our basement causing several hundred dollars of damage. I reached out to Home Depot to return it but they said it had been over 48 hrs and we would have to have it (a new dishwasher) serviced by GE. All we wanted was a refund but neither Home Depot (who referred us to GE) nor GE (who referred us to Home Depot) would not refund our money. GE did repair the pump on the new dishwasher, but we will never purchase another GE product EVER!
