Customer service is non-existent. The wallet feature does not work correctly, Trouble activating the card and cannot get any customer service. Can't reach anyone by phone return emails at first were useless and after 3 useless responses no more emails for over a week now and no return phone call despite multiple requests for them to please call. So if you want someone to have access to your bank account with no way to reach them and when they don't respond to any requests for help go ahead and take the risk.
When I hit "find gas" it only provides you what is in your favorite, which I added years ago. You cannot add new stations. Of little use now-only takes up space on your phone. I will delete unless this is fixed in a few days.
Setting up the actual card they mail you is next to impossible. I followed the instructions but there is nowhere to activate the card and create a PIN. Usually you'd call a phone number to activate but they want you to do it on the GasBuddy App. Also, when trying to verify the amounts of money that they put into your checking account it repeatedly shows errors and will not allow me to do so. Hope my Checking account is safe after I put in in the app. Taking my bank information they have down 100% go figure. Nobody answers the phone when pressing any option for help.
Lastly, the reported gas prices are correct about 50% of the time.
I just read about 20 negative reviews, all of which haven't been my experience GasBuddy! I don't know if I've just gotten lucky or if everyone else is doing something wrong/not being patient etc. Their customer service efficiently helped me when I needed them to. I received the $10 Audible credit and $10 free gas. I've never noticed gas prices being as "off" as some of these reviews are reporting. Sometimes someone will accidentally report a price as diesel when it was clearly a premium price or something. I've been using GasBuddy for about 6 months now, and I won't claim I'm saving a MASSIVE amount of money but extracting a $2-$3 average credit from each time I fill up in gas to put towards something I would have bought anyway via the "shop your way" app is worth it to me, or rather "why not". I haven't had any of the issues these last 20+ negative reviews have reported
new app format is useless in map view. ad takes up 1/3 of screen and remaining map view area is limited . you cant use it as a passenger at highway speeds to view the pricing of stations ahead -- useless - go back to the old format it worked.

GasBuddy app is not loading, says connection error - our servers can't be reached! Try Again. After many, many attempts, a list of stations by distance comes up but no prices. Tapping on each station shows prices but only for that station. It will not sort by price. I know where the stations are, I am looking for the gas price.
This is a great resource for finding the cheapest gas without driving around wasting your gas in search of the cheapest price. It's user-based so you can also help other drivers by updating station's gas prices.
I have used gas buddy for a few years. It was a great app, user friendly and useful. I don't even use it any more. You can't view prices on the start screen anymore, ads and pop ups are annoying and take up valuable time when we are traveling. By the time I get to the info we have driven past the exit as I am the passenger. I would no longer recommend it to anyone.
It is a convoluted scam it does not work the system used to be pretty good when they first started out years ago but now it completely drain your energy and frustrate you they took away some good functions and put in place other garbage designed to lead you around in a maze and take advantage of you this app is horrible
After reading all the bad reviews and stories about unauthorized charges and other issues, I decided against getting the GasBuddy card. It had already been sent but I have not activated it. I have contacted GasBuddy via email numerous times and each time I get a canned reply that is unrelated to my query. They will not respond to my request to cancel my card and remove my checking account information from their system. Tells me all I need to know about this company! I'll continue to use the app to locate gas stations and prices but the card accessing my checking scares me!
They advertise $0.25/gal discounts and actually offer $0.02-0.04 /gal discount that is still $0.10/gal higher than Sams. They cherry pick high retailers to offer bigger discounts, but in the end, you are paying more.
They are a total rip-off and deceptive in advertising practices and the amount of data they collect before and after you sign-up. Stay away from these scammers.

Well, first off gasbuddy.com does NOT work. All I wanted to do was get the gas prices in Idaho, which is the point of this website. But it DOES NOT WORK. Which defeats the entire purpose of this useless website. I want to to know who created this so I can send them 1000 rotting fish in the mail. With all due respect, fix your website. GB took great app and change to the worst. Colors can't be seen in low light. Logos too small to recognize. Update button placed too far away from prices and when prices are updated, you have to tap yet again to get back to list/ map. Various other issues make this the worst app ever.
I saved a whole $0.07 per gallon Whoopi! The other two attempts said the purchase was not eligible. Well then why the heck was it posted on your website if the gas station was not eligible for reimbursement? And in my area, I I very seldom see saving more than sometimes one cent so why is it worth my trouble?
I thought when I got the GasBuddy card, I was actually going to realize a significant savings. But I am only receiving MAYBE 1% of my total gas purchase. Today my charge was $49.55 and only saved 41 cents. To me, this is hardly a savings.
I have been trying to sign up for gas buddy for three months. The first card would not work with the pin and my personal information was incorrect. The second card never got verified and I could never get in touch with anyone to help me. Many phone calls and left messages with my return number but got nothing from gas buddy. I am through wasting my time with this ridiculous "service". I will stick with the grocery stores discount gas!
Gasbuddy sends you a debit card that gets linked to your bank account: don't do it! The savings are 20-70 cent per 20 gallons of fuel. Not worth it, because they will charge your account with random charges. I complained after they charged my bank account twice for gas that I did not buy. I complained - and they didn't even read my email, but simply sent a copy & paste email back. I sent multiple emails asking when and where my card was charged (when I use it, I get an email with transaction details, but when they post fraudulent charges, there is no email with details), but they simply ignore me.
I filed with BBB.
Do NOT allow this scam company access to your bank account.
I used Gas Buddy for the first time the other day. My first bill was approximately $41.40 and was charged $38.92 for a saving of $2.48. Good savings until I looked at my bank records! I was charged $3.00 as an ATM withdrawal. I actually lost. 52 cents in that fill up. I won't do it again.
When trying to use their gas tool, specifically gas price map, it is plagued with hiccups. Sometimes it works, but mostly it either won't allow me to view the station details, or it goes into "oops, there was a problem" mode.
Many times the price is not accurate. Gas buddy is a 1.5 star site at best.
... was I going to send a scan of my driver's license to these people! For heaven's sake, it has my *signature* on it. Who in his or her right mind would give access to the info on his/her driver's license? I'll find the cheapest gas prices the old-fashioned way: by word of mouth.
