Before I decided to post my review, I read about 50 of them, and was totally surprised what users complained about.
From limit on their card where they couldn't fill up! All I can say is either they drive a TT unit, or their finances are bad. I have 3 vehicles, and at times have filled all 3 on the same day resulting in over 50 gallons. There is no one vehicle out there that has a 50 gallon tank! I've never had an issue filling any one of them One is a truck, and that alone has a 28.5 gallon tank.
The price being off! Yes, sometimes I see that too, however, if you look at the posting, the ones I find off were posted a few days before. Knowing the business, I've seen prices change 3 times in one week; hell, one time I've seen the price change twice in the same day. We can all post; instead of complaining, you see a different price, then go on and post the new price. I don't know were that one poster lives, but after two years with GasBuddy, I can count on one hand how many times I've seem "false prices." Again, a look at when those "false prices" were posted, one may find it was days ago. Also, it's kind of ironic that person will take the time to write a negative review, but won't take even less time to post the actual price they're observing.
The card accesses your bank account. Do you realize GasBuddy card is NOT a credit or debit card? After you purchase your fuel, it deducts the amount minus the $. 05 a gallon from whatever card you supplied them. Also, some places won't accept them as they don't allow the $. 05 discount because they feel their prices are lower or privately owned such as BJ's, Cumberland Farms, just to name a few.
I WANT TO MAKE ONE THING PERFECTLY CLEAR. I DON'T WORK FOR, HAVE ANY ASSOCIATION WITH, GASSBUDDY NOR KNOW ANYBODY WHO WORKS THERE OR ANY OTHER CONNECTION YOU MAY DREAM UP.
I've been with GasBuddy now for about 2 years, and had nothing but positive results. I've also recommended it to close to a dozen friends, and they have had nothing but positive results.
The only thing I would agree with, but easily corrected, is when you get the GasBuddy card it can be one pain in the a. To activate it, and get it going.
In the end, I found most negative posters are ill informed, or have no idea of he world around them. Again, one will spend 5 plus minutes to post a negative comment, but won't take less than a minute to post the new price. Others will complain that the card accesses their bank account, without realizing their purchase has to get paid somehow that GasBuddy is neither a debit or credit card. To the person that stated they can't fill their car as there is a limit not realizing that's more than likely due to their own personal finances.
