New version sucks! I stopped using it after 3 years now. To bad was the greatest app ever
Patrick De Haan's own website says he is not about political agendas. He is also a self-proclaimed "myth buster" and "fact checker." I challenge you to email him personally like I did. He's a rude, condescending, flaming liberal, who runs an awful and inaccurate app.
I've been with Gasbuddy for 8 years and this new card is a disaster. The old card for plus members was like a debit card, it had a drivers code to input when you used the card and you could see your transaction and savings immediately on the App. With the new card, no drivers code, its a charge card with no security like a driver code. Also, the new cards transaction do not show up for days so you can see what the actual charge was with the discount. And, they do not tell you if it acts like a debit card or a charge card to pay your bill? And the savings they tout is only if you go inside the convenience stores and purchase $25 worth of merchandise, then you get 3 cents off per gallon? Sounds like they are promoting the convenience stores?
And the annual fee for a plus member went from $50 to $89 which is not justified on the savings the card gives you. Im not renewing my membership as Gasbuddy is no longer my "buddy!'
Answer: Nobody I know has ever won. I have been a member over 9 years and I've never won. I entered 103,000 points, 103 tickets, all at once the day after St. Patrick's Day and I didn't win. So the short answer is someone must be winning these things, but you probably have better odds with a lottery scratcher. I also find it strange that often times the winners are brand new to the website with low point totals and often stop using the website after they win, kinda strange.
Answer: I see lots of people here reporting issues using GB, but my wife and I have had nothing but good luck using it all up and down the east cost. No false charges, not wrong prices, etc. we try and faithfully confirm or correct any prices off, but that rarely happens and is only a couple cents here and there when it does. Happy user here! YMMV
Answer: I just used it for the first time and I guess I didn't read enough of the fine print. I was expecting to see the price drop at the pump, but instead I needed up paying full retail price at the pump and I guess the savings is supposed to come off the back end when it hits my bank. Not sure, but I can tell you this, that was my first and last time using the card. I would rather see my savings immediately at the pump than have to wait to hopefully see them show up in my bank account. Ill just continue to use my loyalty cards. I hope this helps!
Answer: I cannot currently imagine as to why the rating is so low. My experience has been perfect in South Florida so far. GasBuddy is always accurate, works great on my android smartphone, links up well with turn by turn audible directions to the cheapest gas station. Therefore I rated this app 5 stars and I never do this unless it always makes my life easier to manage day to day.
GasBuddy has a rating of 1.3 stars from 373 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with GasBuddy most frequently mention customer service, bank account and credit card. GasBuddy ranks 2261st among Autos sites.
