Gamestop was always the go-to place for things related to my ex-boyfriend's Nintendo collection. The selection of games for the DS is wide, and the experience is pretty hassle free. I use this place also when I need to get things for nephews or friends' children.
I ordered a Pipboy edition of Fallout 4 on their online store because it was available for a short time. There was an issue with the order and their website wouldn't let me order another one or cancel it.
I waited 2 hours for some guy in another country to answer my call, in that time the game had sold out and he told me there was nothing he could do.
I'd give them even less than one stars if I could.
Never ever doing business with them again.
This is a dangerous company to do business with! They have owed me for an XBox that was cancelled five minutes after it was ordered for over a month now. When I call one day they have the XBox and the next they say they don't. They have been sent the tracking number four different times. They are the most inept business I have ever dealt with. Will never ever use this business again! All I get are lies and excuses from them. It's been over a month and still don't have my refund. XBox should have never been sent to my house. They are so inept they sent out a cancelled order and it's been hell ever since! O
I ordered a console online costing 329. I did not receive a confirmation email which worried me. After two weeks I did not receive the console. I rang them and left messages on their machine. I emailed them and received a standard reply. Luckily I paid with Paypal. They will refund my money within the week. Avoid at all costs!
Game stop gives you a cheaper way to buy video games. We love Game stop and every time we see a one, we have to go in. My 8 year old can spot a game stop from a mile away! My family and I ONLY buy video games from here. And each and every one of them worked like a charm. I'll always be a happy customer.
I ordered a virtual gift card and never received it. How hard can it be to email a customer a virtual gift card? It took them 3 weeks to respond to my emails. They sent a new order confirmation, but still no gift card! The phone customer service is terrible. Long wait times, and it took 3 different days of calling, spending over 2 hours on the phone until I finally spoke to a person who knew what she was doing. One of the previous customer service reps told me to go into a physical store and have them transfer a balance from a gift card number he gave me over the phone, to a physical gift card. The staff in the store couldn't do it because there was no PIN. So I wasted an hour and a half of my time doing that for nothing! I finally just requested a refund. I will NEVER order anything from GameStop again!
I had almost 120,000 points built up as a My PowerUp rewards member. I've bought several consoles and countless video games and other products from GameStop over decades of being a customer. I've spent thousands of dollars there. I recently cashed in my lifetime worth of points. I had some issues getting the app to work right after I cashed in the points. I came back a couple weeks later and all my points were gone. After multiple phone calls I was finally able to get a refund... for 1/6 of my total points. They refunded me 20,000 points and said that was all they could do. F**k GameStop
I purchased three games with extended warranties. When the package arrived it was empty. The packing slipped had all three games on it but no merchandise. I contacted the company and after waiting on the phone for over an hour they said they would have to get back to me about what they were going to do. This purchase was for Christmas by the 19th which was 5 days later and receive an e-mail. No e-mail ever. On the 19th I never heard anything and contacted the company. The second person I spoke with said it was approved to replace. They said they would expedite the package if approved. I tried to contact them for the next two days and the answering machine said they were busy and to call back. I still have not heard anything. They are very hard to get a hold of and the operators were very hard to speak with.
Absolutely terrible shipping. Honestly, if I wanted to wait 2 weeks for a game, I woulda just want to the store and bought it myself. Better yet, I shoulda used amazon.com instead which woulda guaranteed my game arrived in 2 days, at worst 3 days!
This is when the estimated delivery date was for 5 days.
Honestly, I don't even know why I go to gamestop anymore, so many other outlets now that any where else is better. Game stop is honestly dying.
Gamestop could be much worse. The prices are usually somewhat decent, and the selection is on par with many of the other game retailers. The staff however is usually pretty awful. I have found that they will lie to you just to make a sale. I never take what the employees say at face value. This is mainly because i was told the Logitech G930 will not work with pc and that i will need to buy a second headset made for pc. (Even though it says the G930s will on the box)
Love the trades and love the service. The managers work so hard to please and help a non tech Mom! They know the safe games vs the ones that I don't approve of that most kids want. What would I do without my local GameStop for Christmas!
I bought a Wii U console due to a promotion they were running. I apologize 100% in advance if they try to sell this to another individual. It has everything you can imagine wrong with it. It is yellow, orange chip stains everywhere, dust like I have never seen before, a cracked screen, wreaks of cigarettes, the power cord is ripped, the other charging power cord is covered in soda, and the hdmi cord is busted. REALLY GAMESTOP? This left your warehouse in checked and approved condition. I paid $70 and the only thing not damaged is the sensor bar ($5 maybe). I should smash this so you don't try and sell it to anyone else. Customer service is a waste of time. Don't even bother calling. I gave you one last chance GameStop. It is no wonder why you are going away. Good bye!
Recently pre ordered a game for my son. It was released on the fourth. They sent it on the fifth. Happy enough with that. I've also ordered a board game through them that came in time for Christmas. Reasonable shipping.
I recently bought Nintendo switch joycons online through GameStop because they were out at our local Walmart and Meijer. I decided to buy from GameStop versus amazon because I liked the color of the joycons more. Both companies promised 2 day shipping. I paid for 2-5 day with GameStop thinking if it's 5 days no biggie. 3 weeks later I called because I still hadn't received my order. When I called they informed me it still hadn't shipped and it would be another 6-10 business days before it shipped. I cancelled and bought locally. They told me a refund would come 6-10 business days. It's now been 2 weeks. I tried calling and they said it could take up to 3 weeks. Never again will I order or shop from GameStop. I'm so disappointed and their sales representatives don't seem to care either.
Hello, I just wanted to put this out there that yes, they do screw you over *twice*. How you ask? Well it's simple, when you trade in games or devices they will screw you over and give you $20 for a XBox 360 (S) which they go and sell for $75. Then they screw you over when you're buying. How? C'mon, haven't you bought something from this place? Well, I got a DSi XL for $75 with tax which they will give you $30 store credit. I'm not sure if I got screwed over or not but my DSi XL was in beautiful shape.
Took 45 minutes the 1st time calling to make a change to my account and the agent never credited my account after all that wait. 3.more times calling and still waiting to talk to someone after hours of hold time. What a joke and scam to rake people's money and then when u have a problem they just avoid u
If I could leave less than a star I would. I ordered a Nintendo switch and they only sent me the cables and the wrist straps for the controllers. No consol was ever incased in my package. What am i supposed to do with just the cables? I called them multiple times, each time I would be on hold for anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour. There was no help. They told me that I could file a police report but that they would not help. I used to love this company, but I will never shop with them again.
Over the holiday I wanted to buy an Xbox One for my son so I jumped on line to order with Game Stop as I could get a bundle that included counsel, Assassin Creed and $50.00 card for total of $350.00 (not a bad deal). Moved bundle to my shopping cart; made payment and figured all was OK. Later that night I decide to check my e-mail only to find that GS canceled order. As time is running out on this deal I call GS and find out why order was cancelled. No good reason found/provided so order was taken a 2nd time on the phone with new order number. Check my messages the next day only to find that this order as well has been cancelled. I call GS and speak with another rep. And was told a 2nd time there was no good reason for order not being completed. I ask if they can honor the sale price (prom. Has now ended) and was told no; if I wanted this bundle it would cost $399.99; smells like a bate and switch. Needless to say I will never buy or recommend Game Stop products and services.
We bought some gift cards from GameStop and later tried to redeem them at their website. When we typed in the card number and the pin but the site told us that they were invalid. None of the three cards worked at all. So we called the number on the card and the number given by the site. After waiting for 32 minutes and 41 second, listening to their never ending advertisements, someone finally picked up the phone. The guy told us the cards were "never activated" and we had to go to the store in which they were bought in order to redeem it. The problem was that the cards were gifts, and there wasn't even an expiration date on the card. According to Nscl.org, if a expiration date is not given then "it shall be valid in perpetuity," but in this case it didn't even last the 5 years mandated by the Federal Credit Card act of 2009, which specifically states that a card "issued after August 22,2010 cannot expire for 5 years." We got one just two years ago.
I order 1-3k a year from Gamestop typically. I order about 24 games during their bogo deal recently all "new". 12 of my 24 games came open and half of which came in sleeves...If I want used games I would order as such. I collect sealed and play digitally and sometimes buy used. In any case, I simply want new replacements. I'm given return labels which I need to find someone to handle this as I had surgery and won't be able to do anything for a while. Whole process is frustrating and a waste of time. I know why the company does things the way they do but I shouldn't be inconvenienced by it.
