Zoom, Invitae Pinterest, all losers since 2020. If I would have held them the recommended 5 years I would have been worse off. When Tom and Dave Gardner were running Motley Fool the recommendations were far better. I lost 10s of $1000s in these terrible stocks. You are better off piggy backing Warren Buffets recommendations, I made my money back on his picks.
The Motley fool company has a service called 'stock advisor' for a 199 $ a year. This service is committed to provide stock recommendations. I have subscribed to this service on June 17 2021.After a short while I did not find this service useful for me. I think the result of people adhering to a recommendation might result with a short term hype and stock price can increase after the motley fool company has purchased it. However, the supporting data provided for a stock recommendation is not professional in my opinion. Since I had already committed to a yearly payment then I've just forgotten about it. On Feb 19 2023, I revealed that the Motley Fool charged me additional 199$ on June 17th 2022 for another year!I have immediately written to The motley fool service team. I kindly requested a refund mentioning to them they can easily see in my data. I was not getting into their platform for almost the entire period except for the first few weeks. Also, I told them that there was no option in their portal to cancel the service or remove the credit card details, and so I was surprised that they still allow themselves to Auto Renew this service. To me, it seems an unfair business conduct to auto renew an account that can not be canceled online. Also, to auto renew unused accounts. The Motley Fool support team did not respond to my claims and the request to refund the 199$ fee for the second year. They just wrote that they can cancel my subscription at once, although my payment for the entire period will not be refunded OR let my unused account stay as is until the end of the period I have paid for. Obviously, I canceled the account at once.

I've lost 10's of thousands (-70%+). I was doing much better with my own picks. Cant think of any mistake I've ever made that cost me more. A DUI would have been cheaper. Avoid Motely Fool at all costs.
I joined motley motley fool thinking it would help me with my investments. I was doing pretty good but though I might be able to do better. I invested thousands into 5 of their top rated stocks. As of 1-2 years they were all duds. I think this company is horrible. Don't sign up.

Don't subscribe. Absolutely not worth it! Their research is superficial, not at all insightful. Subscribing only gets you non-stop emails, and log-ins, trying to up sell one to more expensive services. I didn't pay for a subscription to be constantly be bothered to spend more for the "latest and greatest". They say one can cancel if not satisfied, Not True. Customer service is nearly impossible reach. This service is a Rip-Off! There are better sources for investment research. Hang on to your wallet on this one...

The LAST recommendation I took from the Motely "Fool" is UPST, Upstart Holdings Inc. At the time of its recommendation, it was $214. A year later, it is $17.34,1,234% decline. A year ago, it was noted by the Motely "Fool" that it will increase by several fold. Um, yes, it has changed several fold, but decreased.
I understand that the market fluctuates, but this is far from a "good" recommendation. UPST shows no trend toward increase. It has remained low and creeps down little at a time … probably toward extinction. And, this is not the first time. The "Fool", a few years back, recommended some Chinese energy firms. All of which have tanked and, apparently, went into bankruptcy.
Yes, it's my fault for not learning my lesson. Not every recommended stock pick pans out. But, I resent the rosy description of the "Fool's" description of this dud stock. Oh, well. I now keep UPST in my folder. I could use the write off, but, nope, I will keep it as a reminder to never take the foolish advise of this "expert."
Thank you for your feedback.

I signed up for their service on 7/21/2021 and cancelled within 30 days as I did not see the value for my investment amount. Then on 7/21/2022 they charged me double that amount without consent and will not respond to any messaging or correspondence about the issue. Stay away.
We were able to locate and respond to your emails within 2 business days. Apologies for the delay - our representatives are replying to emails as quickly as they are able after the holiday.
Looking over your account, in July 2021 you purchased one year of a service at a promotional rate. It renewed for one year at list price in July 2022. The terms and conditions set the boundaries and nature of our relationship; these were agreed to at the time of purchase. The order page stated: "Your subscription will automatically renew at the then current price, using the most recent credit card we have on file."

Unfortunately, we did not receive any cancellation requests from you until November 2022. This is far outside of the 30-day, money-back guarantee that your renewal offered.

I received 5 stock recommendations from Motley Fool September 2021; I invested a total of $2,341.83 spread evenly over the 5. Immediately the stock value declined steadily as time went by. As of November 2022 the total value is $954.58.

I've been a member for many years. They stopped the daily market report and now what I mostly get is a lot of marketing and upsell e mails. In addition, they flaunt their successes and ignore the failures, like recommending Radio Shack about one month before they went under. I tried to cancel my subscription today but they will not refund for the remaining unused portion of the subscription so I'm stuck with them through July. I think there are better options out there.

Since I read some good reviews and since they have a 30 day trial period to cancel subscription, I gave it a try. To my surprise, they do NOT allow you to cancel the subscription easily…their cancel feature has been deactivated! This is a problematic and deceptive feature. I am writing to their billing department to see if I can cancel. I am hoping I can avoid having to have my credit company get involved. I am disappointed. This feature makes them feel less legit, in my view.

Interesting that with almost all the bad reviews Motley's response is "Unfortunately, we're unable to find any accounts with the information you've provided." never addressing the meat of the complaint. Obviously, these reviewers have had accounts.
I lasted with Motley less than 20 minutes and called for a refund and cancellation, as trying to cancel on the website is made difficult. Took an upgrade that was offered right after my initial purchase that was supposed to be discounted and when I called to cancel found that the amount charged was over $100 than what was shown in the offer and what was shown on my invoice. They claim to be investment advisors, but only give their picks of stocks to buy, nothing on whether you should sell the holdings you have, the holdings they recommend or a price range to sell the stocks they've recommended or the stocks you already have. Unlike other online investment nothing about whether a stock was a sell, hold, buy or strong buy. Motley gives themselves an out by saying that you have to wait five years to get results from their picks. Meanwhile while while you hold their stock dogs, they'll be charging you expensive subscription fees. I get much better advice from online Morgan Stanley research and free investment services on msn or yahoo.
Navigating the site is a nightmare. Messy and confusing and at every turn a glaring orange box to click on for an upgrade. If you upgrade in a second you'll get another ad for another upgrade and the upgrades don't get you much. I don't know if you've ever been silly enough to go on Publisher's Clearing house website (O. K. they have a really good bubble game), but Motley Fool is that style. The "advice" is scattered and disorganized and useless. And, really? Buy Shopify? It's going to be zero soon.

Don't get suckered in to this scam. I subscribed to many of their wasteful services through the past several years. As of late many of their pics are down as much as 80%. They keep touting about Amazon Apple Google Facebook Tesla, as if they made the great discoveries. All they do is tempt you into buying more of their useless services. If you're going to place bets on all these crazy recommendations they make, you might as well go to the casino. These idiots never sent out sell recommendations for highly leveraged companies they recommended. Now that interest rates have come up, motley fool's investments have gone down the drain.

In 2019 I split half my IRA between a large cap index fund and 15 Fool long-term pension recommendations focussed on growth stocks. A third are complete write offs, like Skillz (-92%), a third are long time losers like Disney (-39%) and a third are in fairness over the S&P. The total return on my Food stocks after four years is around 39% against the dumb, unmanaged index fund return of 70%. Need I say more? The service is unreadable - if you have time every day to read 5,000 word email transcripts of unfocussed chat, you are welcome to it. Worst investing mistake I ever made. Totally regret my faith in this service.

All you people complaining oh I'm down 50% its been two years. Listen its hold for a minimum of 5 years. Watch look back in a few years from now and you'll be like that little bastard was right. The pandemic and inflation are hammering stocks but that's not an issue, I am buying more not selling now that everything is down. Here's what you should have done. You should have looked at Motley fools first 12 recommendations like 20 years ago and now look at the stock prices. The are not making it up when they say they've outperformed the S&P 500 you can literally check very very easily. So honestly this is why people lose money in the stock market. They think if its a good stock it only goes up lol. They are also very impatient. If it doesn't go up in a year or two its no good lol wrong. People are so dumb.
Thank you for the positive feedback!

Subscribed to 10X service in January of 2021. They touted their "buy and hold for 5-10 years" stock strategy. Then they recommended selling 10 of the 40 stocks in the portfolio within months. Obviously they have terrible research, followed buy "foolish" buy recommendations, followed by the entire portfolio being down over 50% (S&P was slightly up over the same period). Stay far away unless you're a "fool"..

The court jester, known as the Fool, could speak the truth to the king and queen without having his head lopped off. The Fools of yore entertained the court with humor that instructed as it amused.
