I cant even view the movie times, because of the movie advertisement popping up every second. Im not using fandango anymore. They suck.
Same movies on hulu. They offer coupons and don't follow through. It's basically a predator of stupid consumers. Don't be one of them.
Ended up not being able to see the movie I already paid for thanks to a mix up in times and no refund was issued! What a waste!
This app is always easy to use and reliable. I have even cancelled my tix because we changed the date and we received our money promptly.
I've been a fandango customer for many years and I've never made a mistake so I've never had to test the refund/exchange "policy." I've read it. I understand it but I think it is the worst crock I've ever read in my life. Apparently they think they've "listened to their customers" and improved by offering an exchange/refund policy now but you must notify them no later than 90 minutes prior to the start of your movie. Listen... they have at least one halfway intelligent person working for them who did a bit of research who knows when the average customer purchases tickets to the movies. They aren't as stupid as one would think. If the average customer purchases tickets within 30 minutes of the start of a movie, are they really providing a service to "their valued customers" by offering exchanges/refunds as long as you notify them at least 90 minutes prior to the start of your movie. If you wait until 60 minutes or God forbid 30 minutes prior to the start of your movie for ANY reason, you're out of luck. Suppose you don't want a refund, as in my case, because you simply went to the incorrect theater (it happens. We just relocated here one week ago!) and just want to exchange the purchased ticket for one at the correct theater... too bad. Want to speak with a supervisor? Too bad. They aren't available. If you try to call back, there are notes in the account so the next representative already knows your issue so when you request to speak with a supervisor again, you "accidentally" get hung up on. I will never use fandango again and I'm going to find out who, if anyone I can file a complaint with. I'm SO angry right now!
I will never use Fandango again. I purchased tickets via PAYPAL (my ONLY saving grace was PayPal dispute). We arrived at the movie 10 minutes before the movie was to begin and my ticket code came back as expired even though that date and time were correct on the same code. We had to pay cash at the window to see the movie ($45 for two people now)
Then starts the runaround! I was not entitled to a refund because we had paid cash at the window. I did submit documents as requested by their Customer Support department and always got the same answer: Your case is being closed because you failed to respond within 48 hours.
I literally responded within MINUTES of each and every request. Then, they went back to the original excuse that they couldn't refund me because we paid cash at the ticket window. I literally send 10+ emails in response and all repeated the same:
CASE BEING CLOSED FOR FAILURE TO RESPOND
WE DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR RESPONSE (which they were responding to)
CANNOT PROCESS REFUND WITHOUT CREDIT CARD RECEIPT OF ADDITIONAL PURCHASE
This company is a real piece of work. I will never use them again! PayPal refunded my money. I am SO glad I used them for the original purchase. The claim went undisputed by Fandango.
I have tried several times to rent movies from fandango.com and have found it to be the worst possible service. The very first time was via TV+ which directed me to fandango. I was charged for the film but it would not play. I tried calling both TV + and fandango. Only email options were available. Next day I got someone at fandango. They said they can't guarantee films purchased through TV+ and the refund would need to come from them and next time I should go directly through fandango. So the next time I did as directed. The first time we sat down one evening to watch a movie from fandango directly, I was prompted for my card to be saved. No matter how many times I entered the card it kept saying it was invalid even though it was not. I tried Amex and Visa. I then followed instructions to save online. Same result. Tried calling their customer service and after waiting 10 mins. I opted to have them call me. They called the next morning and I missed the call. I finally got them on the phone and added my card. They said my card was now saved so I wouldn't have any further issues. Last night we tried to watch a movie and the same issue. And no one again available to help, there was not even an option to connect with an agent. Now after 30 mins. On hold waiting for an agent on the phone and 20 mins on hold for an agent via chat I was able to finally cancel my account. It seems they have 1 person supporting their customer service lines. In this day and age I have never known such terrible customer service especially during times when people are most likely to be watching films and need help. Their whole operation is a mess. The only thing that appears to work is their incessant emails advertising their films. If I could rate them -10 stars would. I would not recommend them to anyone. Not when there are so many better services available.
Your better off buying from the actual theater. Fandango charges about double for the convenience fee.
Not sure if the $80 I lost was worse than the 30 minutes on hold while the wait music consisted of ONE SONG REPEATED. I'm sure the artist was a criminally insane drunk smashing his face into a piano.
I wish I could give no stars. Every UHD movie I've bought through FandangoNOW has messed up with sound and customer service has never been helpful. Luckily the movies transfer to my Vudu account, so I can watch them there.
Fandango is worst; their customer service took 10 days to respond to me for a ticket/points issue recently (described below), and when I wasn't happy with their response and asked again that they fix their mistake, I have yet to be answered at all. That was 13 days ago.
They aren't giving me the VIP points for two movies I purchased in November because they said they weren't active at the time. That's not true because I distinctly remember seeing "You will earn VIP points with this purchase." Otherwise I wouldn't have done it because both times I was seeing movies that had been out for awhile and therefore did not need to be purchased in advance. I was ONLY doing it to earn my points, so I would have noticed if I wasn't.
I've attached one of the email confirmations for my second movie, but the first - First Man - from the first week of November - was already deleted from my email, but the history can be seen in my Fandango account, so it's not like they just don't know.
They just lie and do whatever they want.
I called the day before (Thank Goodness) or chatted online with a Fandango Rep. Because after reading the reviews on here I decided I better get all my duckies in a row! Anyway, here is the story short and Sweet!:
Bought tickets on November 4th. Read the reviews on (Fandango) Saturday Night and contacted them. My Reason: One of the people I purchased a ticket for was going to be arriving late. According to the rep. All people requiring a ticket must be present at the time the tickets are registered on my phone when checking in. She had called me today to say she may be running late. Which is the reason for the internet check prior to check-ing in because I figured I could for sure get my money back tonight! Had I trusted Fandango and The Theater I may have just burned 13.50 plus the fee for booking the tickets online (Total $18.00)- That really would have sucked! And all this through THEM. Maybe Fandango is just slurping up the profits when people use them and then SMARTLY CHOOSE TO cancel. PLEASE JUST DONT USE THEM! IT EMPOWERS THEM (lol) but not really funny if you choose to think about it!?! GFRHouTX
We could not use the card in person but then charge you a $2.70 convenience charge when we used it on line. The whole program seems illegal.
Very disappointed. Service fee, hassle of requiring on line purchase only, will never go this route again. Only AMC from now on
This is the biggest rip off company! I wanted to take my twin boys to see a movie. I purchased the tickets online & applied a monopoly code from safeway for a $5.00 discount, long story short life happens, we were not going to be able to make the movie in time, so I went to the online chat thinking it would be a simple click the link("can't make the show? Need an exchange/refund") or that I could speak to a rep. I was waiting on the online chat and on the telphone hold for 45 mins, I figured that I could connect with one of them would have to pick up. 15 past the time that I had to qualify for a refund or exhange, So they would not refund me, or exchange for another time/day. Mind you that we still wanted to see the same movie at the same theatre, just one hour later. The rep said that they could not do it because the movie had already started! BS! It wouldnt have if they would have not left me waiting on hold for 45 mins. Not to mention that they wouldn't honor/reapply the $5.00 promo used, or refund me/reapply the "convienience fee" they charge for online tickets! I ended up paying that twice, to see one movie. I can not express to you how cheated I feel! Times are tough, I really can't afford a company cheating me in this or any way. PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE CROOKS! By the end of the conversation/transaction, getting no where with them on chat and on the phone I was in tears. I can not see how a company can treat the people who keep them going like this :(
Well, add me to the list of human beings making the simple mistake of choosing the wrong theater and getting penalized for it. I purchased two tickets online through Fandango and upon arriving to the theater, minutes before showtime, was advised that they were for the incorrect theater. Since I did not have time to contact Fandango before the show began, I simply purchased another set of tickets at the theater.
Upon contacting customer service online WITH MY CONFIRMATION NUMBER, I was told that NO refunds are awarded after showtime. While I can work to understand this stipulation, it should be no problem to note that the confirmation number was never used thus it should be able to be deactivated and my refund electronically generated. Seriously, with all that Fandango boasts it can do via the Internet, is this really an issue? It seems that they are 1) either deplorably outdated in this capacity, and/or 2) they have no desire to update/upgrade/allow this technology to work because of the revenue they would lose for all the unused tickets generated due to mistaken theater locations.
Again, buyer beware and DOUBLE CHECK, TRIPLE CHECK the details on your purchase before confirming because once that money goes, it's gone into the pockets of Fandango.
Not surprised to google fandango review and find the lowest rating I have ever witnessed for a company. My personal reason for giving it one star: 24 hours trying to reset a password for an account I did not even know I had but since the site was telling me that the email was already registered I went through the motions of getting a new password emailed, a total of 5 times and still no password link arrived, chatted with customer service, they tried resending my password, nothing, so I asked the idiot to delete my account, I thought I would just create a new account, turns out you cannot use the same email even if the account no longer exists, so I called customer service, they tried to email me yet again a password link, nothing, and then they told me the reason I was not getting any emails was because I opted out of email promotions and updates from Fandango! I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM MINUS STARS and btw I still do not have a password. I will not use Fandango in the future, because it is a piece of garbage and because I can't since I do not have access to my account.@%$#^$&*(
Site rigged to mix up movie dates and times so if u want refund u wont have the " two hours " they claim u need...
They have the worst customer service ever all I asked for was 2 tickets to a movie I missed. After all the times I've used them the still said no.
Worst movie app out there don't waste your time customer service is horrible ticket I won't ever use
Fee's are terrible. Better offers from AAA, Costco and credit unions. No fees. No refunds if received as a gift card.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Fandangos customer service is not good so I wish you luck. Thank you for your service, hope this helps Rose
Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
Fandango has a rating of 1.1 stars from 1,232 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Fandango most frequently mention customer service, gift card and convenience fee. Fandango ranks 325th among Movie sites.
