I made a mistake and ordered the tickets I wanted for the wrong day and for the wrong amount of tickets. When I realized tpnight that I ordered the tickets for today instead of for tomorrow as I wanted I went to the chat window. I realize that the policy is the refund must be made before the showing but I honestly thought I made it the right day. They had no consideration for my mistake so I guess i am out the money. That is fine but I will never again use them to get tickets. Just had to write a poor review.
After I entered the number on the back of my Fandango card, it told me I had $8 on the card. I tried to order a ticket and it said the card number was invalid or had expired. I thought it would subtract $8 from the total, but it took all from Paypal, including $1.35 "convenience fee," when I didn't even get to use the Fandango card. I would never purchase a Fandango card. I am out $8.
We are new to the area and bought tickets on Fandango to a theater that was suppose to be close to us. NOT the case the map and address are don't exist! There is no phone number to call the theater either. We drove around for over 30 minutes looking for the theater. Fandango refuses to refund our money because I was unable to request a refund until after the movie started! SCAM
I will never use Fandango again. I purchased tickets via PAYPAL (my ONLY saving grace was PayPal dispute). We arrived at the movie 10 minutes before the movie was to begin and my ticket code came back as expired even though that date and time were correct on the same code. We had to pay cash at the window to see the movie ($45 for two people now)
Then starts the runaround! I was not entitled to a refund because we had paid cash at the window. I did submit documents as requested by their Customer Support department and always got the same answer: Your case is being closed because you failed to respond within 48 hours.
I literally responded within MINUTES of each and every request. Then, they went back to the original excuse that they couldn't refund me because we paid cash at the ticket window. I literally send 10+ emails in response and all repeated the same:
CASE BEING CLOSED FOR FAILURE TO RESPOND
WE DID NOT RECEIVE YOUR RESPONSE (which they were responding to)
CANNOT PROCESS REFUND WITHOUT CREDIT CARD RECEIPT OF ADDITIONAL PURCHASE
This company is a real piece of work. I will never use them again! PayPal refunded my money. I am SO glad I used them for the original purchase. The claim went undisputed by Fandango.
I purchased tickets and had to cancel, called Fandango and was toldthere was no problem that they would credit my account, now after almost 1 year I am still trying to use my credit with fandango on my VIP account but to no avail. Customer seervicetells me they have to get in touch with their corporate team to evaluate the situation, what a bunch of nonsense.
What a ripoff. The four dollar convenience fee is almost as much as the matinee ticket! This was a 25.00 gift card and has 5 dollars left. Whats the point of using that? Another 4.00 charge? Ridiculous! I will never buy one of these cards again for anyone. I will also advise everyone I know of the scam that is going on.
This is an example of a great service company. 30 minutes before my movie time they gave me a refund when one of my kids got sick.
By their rules they clearly didn't have to, but I asked and they had no problem.
I've always used them in the past and will always use them in the future.
Fandango has quiet a racket going on we were given a gift card for fandango when we went to use it at their kiosk it wouldn't accept it and when we used it on their website mind your this is a fandango gift card so can't use it anywhere else they charge a 4$ convenience fee for using their currency this is outright theft what this means is your 25$ gift card is worth at best 21$ DON"T GIVE FANDANGO YOUR MONEY!
I loved using fandango until I bought a ticket for the wrong date. I didn't use the tickets and they would not let me transfer the tickets. They told me my only option is to repurchase them.
Terrible customer service
I bought tickets using fandango (for the first and LAST time) and my daughters couldn't get into the theater because they had to be 18? It was our first time to this theater and I did not know their policy. When she called to tell me I went online and tried to cancel and it gave me an error message. When I called I was on hold for at least 5 minutes when I got through it was 1 MINUTE past the show time and they wouldn't exchange my tickets. I called to speak to an idiot supervisor named Mariam and all she could say was "I don't know what I can say to make you understand we won't give you a refund" Are you kidding me a company that big offers that kind of customer service? What a joke... i will tell everyone I know to NEVER use Fandango! But reading this website it's clear they don't care!
I HATE fANDANGO.
I bought a movie ticket that i thought it was straight from cinemark, but i got directed to their website. They gave the wrong ticket, and did not help me get my money back.
Customer service sucked, was rude and not helpful AT ALL.
If I could I would give it ZERO stars.
I'm not ever purchasing anything through here again.
I would have loved to have written a review on how the movie "Don't Breathe" was. Problem is i didn't see it! I ordered my tickets on Fandango.com but selected the wrong movie theater. When I got to the movie theater that I thought I'd purchased tickets for, I was informed that I was at the wrong theater. I immediately logged on to my Fandango account and requested a credit so I could purchase tickets for the correct movie theater. I was told that because it was more than 2 hours prior to the start time of the movie, I was unable to to receive a refund or exchange. I contacted customer service and the rude representative told me there was nothing they could do. True enough it was my mistake in choosing the wrong theater, but I'm only human and I'm sure I'm not the first person that has done that and I'm sure I certainly won't be the last. Either way I was out of money and was not able to see this movie.
I used the Fandango site from my mobile and once I chose the theater I was then asked to select the date, which I did. I choose Sept 10th and it loaded the shows and the times. I then chose my movie, the time, and selected my seats as it was reserved seating. After checking out, my confirmation came through with the 9th as the reservation date. I contacted them IMMEDIATELY after receiving the confirmation and was told they could not refund or exchange the tickets. After holding another 10 mins for a supervisor I got sent into a voicemail system. My entire problem started because of a glitch somewhere within their system and then I got a total lack of help. I truly feel like I was robbed and am disgusted with this company. I did not ask for my money back, but just an opportunity to get to see the movie I paid to go see.
I tried to get a refund before the movie start time for 5 tickets purchased under my VIP membership and was refused because it was within 2 hours of the start time. That shouldn't matter - if you can't use the tickets before the start time and you contact them, they shouldn't keep your money! They should either credit the charge or allow you to reschedule the tickets for another time. VIP must mean "Fandango will keep your money" in their language.
I've called 4 times today because I've been having a problems buying any movie through their app and they'll do anything to just talk so they don't have to do anything because they aren't trained to know anything except how blame other people. They first said its Rokus fault then it's my fault for not putting the card information in right. Which btw I'm sure I did ( especially since an hour hadn't even gone by) and then I needed to tell them the error code when there wasn't even an error code. If I got the right number for fandango and it wasn't a fake line I'm astonished they're still in business.
I've ordered a lot of tickets from Fandango over the years and I actually like the convenience of doing it from my phone, watching the previews and reviews etc. But last week I purchased tickets using a promo code I was given from Comcast for signing up to their energy program. The tickets totaled about $25. For personal reasons I was unable to attend the movie at the time we purchased them for (which was over 4 days away). I contacted Fandango and asked if they could switch the time/date and they said they couldnt because it was purchased with a promo code. So then I asked for a refund and again they said they couldn't. Finally I had to drive to the actual theater and get a time change. Their service is good but customer service is extremely lacking and they don't seem to care much about their customers at all.
I purchased advanced tickets using Fandango promotion codes as part of the payment ($8.00 savings per ticket). I called Fandango 48 hours before the show to change the showtime to an earlier showtime. I was not changing the movie, the date, or the theater: just trying to get tickets to an earlier show. Fandango said the $8.00 promotional codes were now void and had no value.
I agreed that the codes could only be used once. However once used, the value of the codes had been transferred to the tickets. Fandango said the value of the tickets was not the printed value and subtracted $8.00 from each ticket.
This is stealing! The studios paid Fandango the value of the promotion codes. Then Fandango stole that value from me. Fandango is a crook!
There is no benefit to creating a "VIP" account. They do not refund you your money if you call anytime after the showtime. Even if the website isn't working and it's after hours to contact someone. They never give "VIP members coupons." Don't waste your money!
The grand kids put money on a fandango gift card. Sent five minutes generating and printing the ticket went to the theater and was told I had to stand in the line the fandango ticket is the same as a credit card. The ticket needed scanned ok I presented the ticket along with my reward card and was told reward card is void when using Fandango. So I spent more time and printing cost for the ticket lost reward credits. Attempted to get a credit back to the kids for the gift money and fandango said no refunds and hung up. Not sure why fandango exists
There should be a 0 rating b/c that's what it deserves.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Fandangos customer service is not good so I wish you luck. Thank you for your service, hope this helps Rose
Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
